The upper waterfall on a thin stream coming over the hillside along Hornbeck's Creek, Pennsylvania. We were hiking towards a larger fall further up the trail, but the wooden bridge was out still from the hurricane.
Second shot of this lovely young buck was happily chilling out in the glen leaving all the huff and puff of the rut to the adults.
Whist most of his contemporaries still had their velvet intact this young man was clearly practicing for the day he would rule the herd.

listen: Blue Velvet
Blue velvet
Woah, woah
She wore blue velvet
Bluer than velvet was the night
Softer than satin was the light
From the stars
She wore blue velvet
Bluer than velvet were her eyes
Warmer than May, her tender sighs
Love was ours
Ours a love I held tightly
Feeling the rapture grow
Like a flame burning brightly
But when she left, gone was the glow
Of blue velvet
But in my heart thereā²ll always be
Precious and warm a memory
Through the years
And I still can see blue velvet
Through my tears
She wore blue velvet
But in my heart there'll always be
Precious and warm a memory
Through the years
And I still can see blue velvet
Through my tears ...................
bandoned tour-busses for the Velvet Knights Drum Corps.
We had to hike cross country 1/4 mile out to the busses and we had only managed to set up a shot or 2 before I started popping red and green flashes. That brought spotlights on us instantly. Moments later a pickup truck began driving around the perimeter of the field, so we bolted back to our cars and tore off to the next location . . . Yeah, totally my fault we got busted. Sorry guys.
