La Buse variable est une espèce de rapaces diurnes de taille moyenne, appartenant à la famille des Accipitridae, très répandue dans le Paléarctique, où elle niche depuis les îles de l'océan Atlantique jusqu'au nord-ouest de la Chine et de la Mongolie, en passant par l'Europe et la Russie européenne.

Bern and I had a really great translation system for Grouse's snow reports back in the day. For example:

"Variable visibility" means fuckin' white out.

"Hard packed" means the mountain is a bulletproof ice rink and you're better off on your skates.

Classic grouse. Soooo much pow this morning and probably 50 people on the entire mountain.

So far this is my favorite block made with the vintage fabric. I had to add the toile fabric (shhh, it's a reproduction, don't tell anyone) in order to get a Mother and child in the center of this block. I wanted to represent Eliza and her daughter and to remember how hard and long our Grandmothers had to fight for the rights we now enjoy. Let's not let our Grandmothers down by allowing these hard fought rights being taken away from us! Wow, The history around this block really got to me!

Lovely to find this small branch thickly clustered with oysterlings. Mossy on the top, and masses of fungi - from pinhead sized to some almost pea sized, with delicate gills underneath.
