I really love how colorful this picture is. I think I used poster effect, which may be why it is so colorful and vivid. The only thing I dislike about this photo is that there is a mountain of gloves. I would have been better if there was only 1 pair of gloves. Also, the red string in the top right could be removed to emphasize on the gloves even more.

Objects of Artistic Value, Art of Anthropological Value is a project which aims to explore what objects represent in the life of an artist, how they inspire artistic experimentation, and how their meanings can be transformed. This photo documentary also aims to suggest a link between visual anthropology and art, and explores what experimental art can offer the discipline. I collaborated with Christchurch artist Olivia Smith, who uses both manmade objects and organic matter in her art. The objects begin in Olivia's collection, illustrating aspects of her everyday life, and are transformed into abstract symbols, open to interpretation. Through this project the relationship between humans and objects is explored.
