I don't even know what this is, it was taken right outside the school and I thought the sun was at a perfect angle to cast the shadow.

Used black and white settings in Lightroom to show value

This picture displays value. The contrast of the dark shadow and the light shadow illustrate that there is value in the picture. The tint of the right side is light and the shade of the left side is darker. I find interesting the contrast that the shadows can have against each other.

On Monday, May 18, 2011, Intersections hosted a unique gathering of corporate, non-profit and faith leaders to address the urgent challenges to leadership at this historic point in time. Almost 100 select leaders explored how leaders can act to foster a more sustainable world infused with greater freedom and compassion.

We took advantage of beautiful weather one weekday evening and patio'd it up at Zawa on the Drive!

1. This photo investigates the element of value. The fire colours reflects the composition.

2. The subject matter of this photo is the flaming fire.

3. The one aspect of this photograph that I think is successful is capturing the moving fire in a cool position.

4. If I could change one thing about this photo, I would probably get closer to the fire so that I can capture the moving fire better.

This is the best example of value because the leaves casually change from a red at the tips, to orange and then yellow. The white background also helps emphasize the value change of the leaves because they are no contrasting colours that would take the focus away from the value factor.

This photo depicts the the value element of art. The background of the Clorox label shows the change in the shade value of yellow. The monochromatic value scale interested me because, until I looked for a value element, I had never noticed how common it was in labels.

The quest for long-term business value starts with a clear understanding of those variables that actually create value in a significant way: the key value drivers. This is not an easy journey – but the potential pay-off makes the process worth the effort.

The meeting brought together SW4SW partner organizations, country representatives, international organizations, private sector representatives, NGOs, and the scientific community to inform the strategic orientation of SW4SW 2025-2030.
