Staircases in the school viewed from the 4th floor. I kind of like the pattern of dots on it, adding details making the photo less plain.

1. The Element of Art most prominent in this photo is value. We see shades of blue, purple and red in this photo.

2. The aspect of this photo that is most visually striking is the bright red and blue hitting the mound and the shades of purple that the shadows create.

Raul Arevalo, Coordinator of CRS's Blue Harvest coffee value chain, is seen at ‘Finca Noruega’ coffee farm where RENACER, Farm Administrator School operates. “Climate change is a very real situation and that is affecting coffee farming, in different areas, the adaptability of coffee has been changing. For example, it is becoming increasingly difficult to cultivate or maintain a microclimate within a farm at low altitudes, which has led to the migration of land use. Coffee cultivation, which is no longer profitable for people, is replaced by housing construction, in the worst case. Or replaced with other crops that do not preserve the same vegetation cover that a coffee farm provides and that tends to cause erosion problems, heating problems such as sugarcane crops or basic grains. In the end, it causes warming and becomes more noticeable at low altitudes. The coffee migrates to the highest parts looking precisely for better environment conditions. Coffee producers bet on the production of specialty coffees, which are the ones that have remained in the market the most and are the farms that have had the most rebound and that are also risky because there is more proliferation of pests and diseases. So climate change has had an effect, precisely because of the adaptability of the crop and the outbreak of more aggressive diseases for the plants themselves. With Blue Harvest we have found a market segment that is committed to focusing on water infiltration and decreasing the impacts of climate change through the implementation of soil regeneration practices, and the improvement of coffee quality. This has allowed us to create that demand that is still unmet because we are presented with so many opportunities for people in the market who are interested in contributing, interested in reducing the issue of climate change. ", he explains. RENACER works for producers to improve their coffee production and maintain good quality with harvest and post-harvest management techniques to offer this coffee to these more conscious markets but it’s a challenge because of the lack of financial support for the coffee growing sector that doesn’t allow them to apply the necessary techniques RENACER is promoting.

A cute small plastic tree with two owls and another bird. I suspect that it may have been made in Japan as it was so well sculpted.
