This is the 1 pfennig value of a famous (infamous) set of definitive postage stamps issued by Germany in the 1940s. It depicts Adolf Hitler, one of the most evil mass murderers in history. This series of stamps is nicknamed "Hitler Heads". The 1 to 12 pfennig values were printed by typography. The 10 and 12 pfennig stamps were also printed by engraving. All higher values in the series were engraved. The 1 pfennig stamp was issued in 1941 (= Scott Catalogue # 506).
Hitler Head stamps were famously forged by the British during World War II's Operation Cornflakes. The Americans made "Death Head" versions of the 15 pfennig value for propaganda purposes (see: www.flickr.com/photos/32705854@N04/51337909704 ).

I really liked this one.
As simple as it seems, I think this was my favourite piece.
Out of all the words in the English language, this artist picked value. I think it's great because I'm pretty sure everyone can relate to this.
Then again most of my friends are pretty closed minded and couldn't get over how "anyone could have done this!" to actually appreciate it.
