Tastes great Kool-Aid Kool-Aid can't wait.

This is more valuable to me then anything I have, other then my family. When I was a kid I remember this being in our fridge filled with Kool-Aid and we always had Kool-Aid. When we got older I asked my Mom that when the time came I would very much like to have this. A few yrs later she gave to me and said "You should enjoy it now rather then having it sit in my china cabinet" So Kool-Aid isn't in it but cranberry juice is and the kids (grandkids) now they CAN NOT touch this. I would freak out if it ever broke.

We were not by any means wealthy but we were rich with Love. My Dad say this and thought right away of my Mom - he saw at a Garage sale and bought for her for 25 cents which when yoy make $30.00 a week was a small fortune. My Mom cried when he gave to her - she said it was so beautiful.

I really is - it is hand painted and bottom is # but hard for me to actually see. I did have it appraised out of curiosity and it was valued at $2,450.00 (I asked My Mom if she wanted back) 😁

Sphalerite and Quartz crystal (063)

3x2x1.75 inch

Dzhezkazgan Mine, Dzhezkazgan, Zhezqazghan Oblysy, Kazakhstan.

Sphalerite (ZnS) is the world's primary ore of zinc, a zinc sulfide mineral known for its wide color range (yellow, brown, black, red) due to iron impurities, resinous to adamantine luster, perfect cleavage, and pale yellow to brown streak. Named from the Greek for "treacherous" because it's easily mistaken for galena, it's also a source of other valuable elements like cadmium and indium, and while soft (3.5-4 hardness), its high dispersion makes it a popular collector's gem.

A wee vent, and thoughts...

How lucky are we to wrap up this year with being safe, and with friends.

A few nights ago, someone said to me, Second life is a place to take from people. "If they are giving, I am taking it".

Ive not really experienced that. Although, I have a broken heart, the fault is mine. I have had wonderful, creative, beautiful, inspiring, sexy, sensual, intense, deep, sad and happy tears on Second life.

Ive made life long friends, and heard stories from all over the world.

Fallen deeply, madly in love.

Ive left friendships behind, let people go in my life, been let go, had people block me, or accuse me. The thing is, if you know you are a good, decent, solid person you do not require a vote on it!

I suppose like anything else in life there are people who want to empty the pockets of others with ill intent, just because they can... But in my minds eye.. Id rather sign off then take from someone, or something that I didnt earn by my own hand.

The thing is .. and there is always a thing.. Second life isnt really any different then real life.. you will always find assholes around.. doesnt mean you have to give them valuable time ;)

Not that I think that it would be a valuable giveaway to take a picture with me - but I'd love to celebrate my 700th follower with a shooting.

St. Sebald Church Nuremberg

An extremely valuable inventory of pre-Reformation art has been preserved in St. Sebald.

The roof and vault were badly damaged in the Second World War and were restored. The very important late Gothic furnishings were largely preserved through storage.

DE:

none of them correct and all of them valid. All their opinions are valid because when someone tells you whether or not they like your work, there is no way to argue with that - to do so would only question their taste, not tell you about your work :-)

For no less than 35 years, Marshal Tito was the face of Yugoslavia. He moved on the stage of world politics with bravado: he opposed the almighty Soviet Union, his Tito-ism formed the ideal buffer against Stalinsm for the West. In short, Tito put Yugoslavia on the world map. More importantly, Tito has managed to maintain stability in Yugoslavia all these years. How did he manage to keep those very strong nationalistic feelings in check all these years? Tito just said: Don't whine, shut up. Most importantly, Tito, with a sophisticated strategy, made sure that no people felt like a minority. No one is better or more valuable than another. As the leader of his partisan army, which consisted of different population groups, he was the only one who really stood above the parties. Especially in the early years of his reign unsavory things happened. Indeed. People who opposed him during the war or shortly afterwards have been disabled. Thousands of people have been murdered and beaten to death. The problem with dictators, and Tito was of course a dictator, is that they don't have suitable successors. No one can and should stand in their shadow, so when such a ruler dies, power falls into the hands of all kinds of incapable figures. After Tito's death in 1980, Yugoslavia is rapidly declining. The increasingly poor relations between the different population groups eventually culminate in a civil war. You can still find slogans of Tito at the most southern point of Croatia, at the abandoned Prevlaka Fortress: Tito - leads our way - to je naš put.. On the road to Prevlaka Fortress we pass beautiful Italian cypress trees.

Prevlaka is a peninsula at the entrance to the Bay of Kotor - Montenegro. It is the southernmost point in Croatia. There is a neglected fortress from 1870. It was bombed in 1943 and this is still clearly visible. There are plans for restoration. The reserve is totally overgrown, but nature is breathtaking. There is a beautiful view from the terrace. Prevlaka's strategic location and proximity to a naval base have led Prevlaka to several quarrels between Croatia and Yugoslavia. In the early 1990s, during the Croatian War of Independence, Yugoslavia occupied the peninsula. In 1996, the two countries agreed to demilitarize it, and UN observers came to monitor it. Recognized as a territory of Croatia in 2006. Worth a visit if you like abandoned ancient ruins. On the road past beautiful Italian cypress trees to the most southern point of Croatia.

Today's photo fits more into the category of "gimmick" than "artistically valuable".

Here you can see the main thoroughfare through the Khao Yai National Park in Thailand. As you can see, this is a fairly hilly area (and extremely windy in places - with very tight corners) so you usually travel very slowly. I came up with the idea for this photo when I saw this sight in the rearview mirror. So of course I had to stop and put this idea into action.

A little bit of information on the side: Since the national park is quite large, it would be very tedious and time-consuming for the locals to always drive around it. However, since you have to pay entry to the park (approx. 5 €), the locals could not afford to go through in the long run. That's why Thais have an 80% reduced entrance fee.

Nevertheless, fortunately there is very little through traffic here (at least on the two days I was here). Which of course suits nature very well. However, I had to re-shoot a few times to take this photo because a car drove by. After all, my plan included not having any of them in the photo and, more importantly, not getting run over.

Was der Natur natürlich sehr entgegen kommt.

Cathedral Basilica of Assumption Blessed Virgin Mary is the oldest Catholic church and the most valuable monument in Płock. Built in the years 1130 - 1144 from carefully prepared granite blocks, characteristic of Romanesque buildings. It was a three-nave basilica with a transept, probably with two choirs, and a presbytery ended with an apse. The Płock cathedral had a bronze cast in Magdeburg in the years 1152–1156, double-leaf doors. In unexplained circumstances, they found themselves in Veliky Novgorod in Russia and there they decorate the cathedral of St. Sophia.

The fate of the cathedral is related to the turbulent history of Poland, it was destroyed and rebuilt many times. The present appearance comes from the years 1900-1916, when renovation and polychromes were made. In July 1910, Pope Pius X awarded the cathedral the title of minor basilica.

-

Do katedry płockiej były odlane z brązu w Magdeburgu w latach 1152–1156 dwuskrzydłowe drzwi. W niewyjaśnionych okolicznościach znalazły się one w Nowogrodzie Wielkim w Rosji i tam zdobią sobór św. Zofii.

Obecny wygląd pochodzi z lat 1900 -1916, kiedy wykonano remont i polichromie. W lipcu 1910 papież Pius X obdarzył katedrę tytułem bazyliki mniejszej.

Perhaps the most valuable result of all education is the ability to make yourself do the thing you have to do, when it ought to be done, whether you like it or not; it is the first lesson that ought to be learned; and however early a man's training begins, it is probably the last lesson that he learns thoroughly ~ Thomas Henry Huxley (1825-95) English biologist and writer.

Schnitger-Hinsz organ,, in the Martinikerk

The main organ belongs to the best known and with 53 votes to the largest baroque organs in the world.

It was built in 1691-1692 by Arp Schnitger, In 1728-1729 the organ was further expanded by Franz Caspar Schnitger, the son of Arp Schnitger. Because he died, the work was completed in 1730 by his master servant

In the seventies, Jürgen Ahrend from Leer was asked to return the organ as much as possible to the state in which Hinsz and Struiwig had brought it in 1740. Ahrend has retained some valuable additions from later times. The restoration lasted from 1976 to 1984.

Anayet and Arafita were the most honest and poor Pyrenean gods of the place, since they had been stripped of all the valuable and beautiful things: the pine forests, the paths ... They were poor but happy, since they had a beautiful and intelligent daughter who was called Culibilla.

Her beauty was such that Culibilla was wanted by all the Pyrenean Gods, but she was not interested in any of them and she rejected them all. She liked to play with some white ants who worked tirelessly in the Valley. The quantity of ants was so numerous that Culibillas baptized this place as El Formigal.

But one day the great god Balaitous, the most powerful of all, noticed her. Balaitous was very feared, when he was furious he caused storms that lashed the mountains. Culibilla was also not interested in this feared and evil god, and she ignored his offer. But Balaitous, who had never been rejected, flew into a rage and decided to go find Culibilla. When he came to kidnap her and take her away forever, Culibilla yelled "to me all the ants!" And millions of white ants came to her aid and covered her completely to protect her. Balaitous fled in horror and never came near Culibilla again.

As a thank you to the ants, Culibilla stuck a dagger into her chest to keep all the ants that helped her inside her heart. Now, the Peña Foratata is her chest and the inhabitants of the place say that when they walk through the Valley and approach the Peña, they hear the heartbeat of Culibillas. They say that since then no more white ants have been seen in the Valley.

Jesus speaks in Matthew 10.

“Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. 30 And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. 31 So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

Ultra valuable and Ultra rare 1936 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Cabriolet at speed on Highway 1 South of Monterey.

Introduced at the 1936 Paris Motor Show, the Friedrich Geiger designed car was a development of the 500K, itself a development of the SSK.

Built for their wealthiest and most demanding clients, the Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster was the Mercedes-Benz flagship in the prewar years. Introduced in 1936, just twenty-six 540K Special Roadsters were built, and of these, only a few were exported to the United States.

This Mercedes-Benz 540K Cabriolet, bodied by Berlin coachbuilder Erdmann & Rossi, was ordered by Barbara Hutton, the wealthy Woolworth heiress and socialite, as a gift for her future husband, Count Kurt von Haugwitz-Hardenberg-Reventlow. She asked for several unusual features, including a passenger compartment to seat four adults and custom-built wheel covers. The most unusual, and seemingly capricious, request was to fit purely decorative exhaust pipes on the left side of the car so it would look symmetrical. This unique Mercedes-Benz later appeared in the 1941 Hal Roach movie Topper Returns. It has been with the Keller Collection since the late 1980s.

Introduced at the 1936 Paris Motor Show, the Friedrich Geiger designed car was a development of the 500K, itself a development of the SSK. The straight-8 cylinder engine of the 500K was enlarged in displacement to 5,401 cubic centimetres (329.6 cu in). It was fed by twin pressurized updraft carburetors, developing 115 hp. In addition, there was an attached Roots supercharger, which could either be engaged manually for short periods, or automatically when the accelerator was pushed fully to the floor. The 540K had the same chassis layout at the 500K, but it was significantly lightened by replacing the girder-like frame of the 500K with oval-section tubes - an influence of the Silver Arrows racing campaign.

A 540K Special Roadster sold in 2016 for 9.9 Million $$, so you will have to save a lot of pennies.

One of the many pollinating flies that frequent Kunzea ambigua.

Flies contribute a lot to pollination in the bush. In my area, in months where it is too cold for native bees to come out, often flies can still be seen doing this valuable work.

I haven't yet been able to get a more specific identification for this particular fly

Bana (ბანა) is the most unusual Cathedral in the history of Georgian architecture. Built in the historical region of Georgia Lower Tao (now part of Turkey) and is considered a kind of copy of the Armenian temple Zvartnots, built in the VII century. Now it is in a very dilapidated state and even the turn to it from the highway is not marked.

In the middle of the seventh century, a large temple was built here. Under adarnassus II (881-923), the bishopric of ban was founded, and the Cathedral was rebuilt. The chronicler of the XI century Sumbat son of David tells us that the temple was built by the son of David I Kurapalat - Adarnese II and was directly built by Kvirike Baneli, who became the first Bishop of the temple. After his death, he was buried here. Bana was the summer residence of the Georgian kings, as well as their tomb. In the X-XI centuries, under the leadership of Zakariya Baneli, many valuable manuscripts were created in the temple. According to historical sources, the temple was named after the Holy cross.

According to the historian Vakhushti Batonishvili, the power of Bishop Ban extended to Panaskert, Tao, Oltis and the surrounding territories.

The significance of the Ban is indicated by the fact that here the Georgian king Bagrat IV (1027-1072) married the sister of the Byzantine Emperor Romanos III Argyros (968 — 1034) - Ellen. This wedding is depicted on the mural of the temple of Oshki, where the image of the temple of Ban is still preserved. Here in the XV century, was buried king Vakhtang and his wife Situaton.

From the Chronicles of the Russian-Ottoman war of 1877-1878, it becomes clear that on may 20, 1877, the Ottomans left the village of Penek and fortified themselves in Oltis, waiting for additional reinforcements. On may 21, the Ottomans left Oltis. On may 22, the Russian army occupied Oltis and the village of Penek (Bana) without a fight.

Rose leaf water 'pearl'

Fishing like this is relaxing, without swimmers, in inviting waters rich in valuable fish, although the average size of the catch is rather small compared to the river, especially about fishing from the shore.

Along the Mediterranean sea coasts there are many more species of fish than in rivers (about 50 in this area, while in the river we rarely reach 8-10 species in the same stretch) and many are small in size, but this is compensated by the quality of the meat which is high for many of these species, as for all "white fish" (Sea Bream, Sea Bass and Dentex in the lead) even in species that remain small in size (White Bream, Saddled Bream, White Sea Bream, Black Bream...).

Large fish are mainly concentrated in port areas and at the mouths of rivers (brackish water), while along coasts like these they are only passing through.

Due to the construction of the Aswan Dam in 1960, many valuable monuments and archaeological sites were in danger of being destroyed. The UNESCO made an appeal to countries to help save these monuments, and as thanks for the aid given by Spain, particularly in helping to save the sacred buildings of Abu Simbel, the Egyptian government donated this temple to the Spanish people in 1968.

The temple originally stood in Debod in the Nile Valley not too far from the city of Aswan, but the need for the new dam meant that it had to be moved elsewhere or it would have remained underwater forever.

So it was dismantled stone by stone in 1969 and shipped to the Spanish port city of Valencia, from where it was then taken by train to Madrid. That's where it was reconstructed and open to the public in 1972. Madrid sept 2017

Goldenrod soldier beetles are found on flowers but do no harm. They feed on nectar and pollen, and have no way to bite or sting humans.

Fishing boats in the port of Svolvær (Lofoten, Norway). My restoration and colorization of Kristian Magnus Kanstad´s (1907 - 1983) photo in the Nordland Museum archive.

No date is given, but my estimate is that Kanstad took this picture in the late 1940s.

"Svolvær is the administrative centre of Vågan Municipality in Nordland County, Norway. It is located on the island of Austvågøya in the Lofoten archipelago, along the Vestfjorden. The 2.37-square-kilometre (590-acre) town has a population (2018) of 4,720 which gives the town a population density of 1,992 inhabitants per square kilometre (5,160/sq mi)

Atlantic Cod fisheries, particularly during winter months, have remained one of the most important economical foundations for the town. Other industries which have proved to be valuable resources for Vågan are fish farming (salmon), Secora and Lofotkraft.

Other than the massive fishing industry, tourism is becoming increasingly important. Svolvær is also a major transportation hub and favourite starting point for tourists visiting the Lofoten islands. Approximately 200,000 tourists visit Svolvær each year."

Sunshine lights up the colour of this tree on a recent bush walk in Dorrigo N.P. The forests of this region were once a vital part of the early colonial economy, and the most prized of all the trees available were the gigantic Red Cedars. This beautiful, scented wood was very valuable and highly sought after. And still is even today.

Walking through these forests today still reveals countless ancient stumps - covered now with fungi, moss and vines.

Fortunately many smaller less valuable red cedars were left, so now over a hundred and fifty years later, these are just beginning to mature - like the one illustrated here.

Nice to see the rare and extremely valuable actually raced, rather than lounging in a museum........'driven not stored'

Honeysuckle is hugely valuable to wildlife, supporting several species, many of which are rare. Butterflies, such as the white admiral (which is in decline), rely specifically on honeysuckle, and it is also prized by bumblebees.

Pollinating moths are attracted to the sweet scent of honeysuckle at night, when it is strongest; and birds, including thrushes, warblers and bullfinches, eat the berries when they ripen in late summer and autumn. Dormice also rely on honeysuckle for both shelter and food. They use honeysuckle bark to build nests for their summer young, but also eat the sweet, nectar-rich flowers as a source of energy.

▶ "Trifolium pratense — commonly known as red clover— is a herbaceous species of flowering plant in the bean family Fabaceae. It is native to Europe, Western Asia, and northwest Africa, but has been naturalized in many other regions, such as North and South America.

Trifolium pratense grows 8 to 31 inches tall (20–80 cm). The flowers are dark pink with a paler base, 0.5 to 0.6 inches long (12–15 mm), produced in a dense inflorescence [cluster of flowers arranged on a stem], attractive to bumblebees.

Tolerant to drought, Trifolium pratense is widely grown as a fodder crop, valued for its nitrogen fixation, which increases soil fertility and promotes protein rich growth, and enables it to support a wide range of wildlife including deer, turkeys, and rabbits. Its flowers and leaves are edible."

It is unbelievable that money seems to be more valuable than human lives, so many dead and injured in the Grenfell fire and on top of that there are at least 30 other buildings in England at risk of the same kind of fire. I hope that these buildings will be dealt with immediately. Just as important is that the families who were injured in the fire get all the medical help they need, a place to live in the mean time, and financial aid to enable them to continue to live. The people responsible for this disaster should be held responsible and the building codes should be updated and enforced.

Much to my amazement Melbourne, Australia experienced a similar fire in 2014, luckily no-one was injured or killed but they too still have 30 buildings “non-compliant” to their building coded we are now in 2017.

In the southern marshes of Iraq, just after dawn local fishermen arrive back with their catch which is packed in ice and taken to market.

The Middle East is the frontline of climate change; extreme weather patterns combined with political turmoil are causing drought, desertification, flooding and population movement and continued instability.

The Marsh Arabs are living a sustainable lifestyle in a valuable and unique ecosystem, both of which are under serious threat.

Known as the Znojmo Rotunda, is a Romanesque rotunda located in Znojmo, Czechia. It is the town's most valuable monument, and features one of the oldest fresco compositions in the Czech lands. Besides the religious motives, of particular importance is the praising portrayal of the ruling Přemyslid dynasty.

The building was originally a castle chapel, dedicated to Virgin Mary, built in the mid-11th century. The painting was commissioned by Konrad II of Znojmo on the occasion of his wedding with Mary (Marija), daughter of Uroš I of Serbia in 1134. Apart of the donor couple, Konrad and Mary, the identity of the other depicted members of the dynasty is disputed among the historians. With two exceptions being the Přemysl the Ploughman, the legendary ancestor of the dynasty, and Vratislaus I, the first King of Bohemia.
