The Hoover Convertible vacuum cleaner started production in 1960 and was the first of a kind, it had a "Clean Air" motor which worked like a cylinder but had the benefit of the famous Hoover "Beats As It Sweeps As It Cleans" cleaning action.
This was the last model produced for Hoover UK in the Dark Burgandy colour, It came with additional cleaning tools which plugged directly into the back of the vacuum cleaner. #FindThatDirt

Eurostar service at St Pancras station, London... with a little help from a yellow coloured Henry vacuum cleaner.
The history of Eurostar can be traced to the 1986 choice of a rail tunnel to provide a cross-channel link between Britain and France. A previous attempt at constructing a tunnel between the two nations had begun in 1974, but was quickly aborted.
In 1988 construction began on a new basis. Eurotunnel was created to manage and own the tunnel, which was finished in 1993, the official opening taking place in May 1994. The full Eurostar timetable from St Pancras came into operation on 9 December 2007.
The point about this is that the exhibit was exactly as described, and was not as good as the picture in your imagination when you read the words above. If conceptual art is all about the concept, then isn't this information card a truer representation of that concept than the actual speakers, pianola, vacuum cleaner, etc.?

Yesterday during the tidy-up, I decided to sell my old Britains Miniature Floral Garden, which I had when I was about 9 or 10. It might have belonged to my older sisters first, actually. The box is from a different thing, but definitely of the same era, and it was always in that box as far as I remember! I keep getting it out to see if it will be suitable for the grandchildren to play with when they're older, but it's getting a bit too delicate now. So, I put it on Facebook Marketplace, and three people were very interested! The first one arrived to collect it today, so I'm glad I have the photos to remind me of it.
Apart from going to collect some eggs from the farm, I was busy doing cleaning all day. Haven't quite finished, but almost there, and at least all the floors have been vacuumed. It's good to have Henry's help ;-)

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The dredge Currituck was off the Virginia coast from July 18-21, 2012 to dredge the federal channel of Rudee Inlet. The Currituck, one of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ dredges, is a highly utilized resource throughout coastal projects along the East Coast. During this project, approximately 7,715 cubic yards was dredged. The Wilmington, NC-based Currituck will return to Virginia next year to dredge anticipated shoaling in the channel. Don't be taken in by the big eyes and smile. Henry has a temper and will be destructive if things aren't going his way. The upturned and broken chair is the latest in a string of episodes.
Henry has been allocated a counsellor to work with him and work out some Anger Management strategies and discover the underlying cause of the problem.

I admit to paying way too much for this vacuum because of its cool design, and a friend of mine raved about his, so I just had to have one. The cat hates hates hates the Dyson!
Second, Hair Raiser for Pets is cleaned on-board the vacuum when the user moves the brush in and out of its holster to loosen the pet hair.
