An odd hair dryer like some models made by General Electric or Sunbeam. Unfortunately this page was damaged. Someday I'll upload a photo of one I have.

"I love my vacuum! I've had it for years and I love the service!"

"I have carpets and I have tiles that I actually use my vacuum on and I love it!"

"It's great [for stairs], because it has a long cord and a long hose and I just keep the vacuum where it is and bring it down the stairs and it's so easy!"

"[The service] it's quick, I didn't expect it to be that fast, I got a phone call the next day."

The Flickr Lounge ... Week 14 ... Saturday Theme ... Technology.

Dyson vacuum cleaner technology is supposed to be very advanced as far as cleaning appliances go. This is my DC41. I recently had to send it in for repairs. The little red clip that holds the canister in place broke and they replaced the whole canister. This accounts for the lovely clean purple lid.

They sent it back minus the foot with the roller and when I told them they said it would be very difficult to find the missing piece so they sent a new one ... couldn't believe it!

Brazilians love blenders (indeed we love frapes, smoothies, juices, soup, milkshakes... ;P), so most home appliance companies always have had a wide range of blenders in Brazil. These are the six Arno blenders from that time, here are some of them.

Zack Arias said take a photo of your vacuum cleaner if you have to but practice... My vacuum was booked for another shoot but I managed the Antique folding chair! What a model, really knew how to work the camera

The UNFINISHED Laundry Room in my Blythe House. Obviously, it needs a backwall. Which will have the same green wallpaper with flowers on it.

The washing machine used to belong to *me* as a kid, so it's from the eighties. It already served in my Barbie house then. Rather yellow instead of white, but I still think it's cute and realistic.

By the way, the Fabric detergents are vintage keychains!

Strange as it seems, she really likes a going-over with the vacuum cleaner. I suppose it's a matter of being lazy, and not much fussed with all that grooming business.

Kym.: Oh, yes, certainly.

And we danced :)

This is a cool card, as it depicts a bit of history. The card was sent in 1906. I wondered when a vacuum cleaner was invented, so I looked it up. There are various dates, but by 1906 only a very heavy vacuum cleaner existed, that was dragged by horses from door to door of the rich people's houses. Then via stairs or the window, the interior got hoovered - which is what you see hapening here (obviously a rich home as they have a servant). A year later, in1907, a portable vacuum cleaner was on the market, though this was still a very luxurious item at that time.

I did not go out to meet the day as usual, so the day came to meet me.

My housemate Sanjib before starting the preparation of the turkey. Using some internet recipes and prior knowledge on Bengali spices, we decide to embark on a thanksgiving turkey project. Based on the expressions on the invited faces upon consumption of the bird, I can say the project was a success.

I must have been mad but the other guys who missed out wanted to go so I thought what the hell, lets go again and maybe capture something different. So thats what I did today.

A real time capsule but nature is taking back a lot of the rooms with full on decay and collapsed floors. Not to mention a shotgun wielding farmer and a bull roaming the enclosure to make matters worse. No chase today - bull was curiously watching us run away but did not decide to pursue.

For those less domesticated mortals among you, this is a partial view of a vacuum cleaner. Poor thing, has to work all day sucking up other people's rubbish...

I caught this rare Australia vacuum heading towards my LEGOs...thankfully I was able to unplug it in time ;)

A charming '20s style leaflet showing another happy housewife with her Bissell's vacuum cleaner. Many people will recall Bex Bissell as a brand of cleaners - and Bissell's, an American company founded in the 1870s, are still in the same business.

This little folder has a sticker attached showing that the cleaners could be bought from the M Cleminson's Stores in Bishop Auckland, Co. Durham.
