“A mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Asian cultures. It can be understood in two different ways: externally as a visual representation of the universe or internally as a guide for several practices that take place in many Asian traditions, including meditation. In Hinduism and Buddhism, the belief is that by entering the mandala and proceeding towards its center, you are guided through the cosmic process of transforming the universe from one of suffering into one of joy and happiness”

Polaroid week - Spring 2026 - Day 2 / Photo 1

Brave, courageous, determined, bold.

Being told you have a visual impairment that can't be treated can be difficult to come to terms with.

Some people go through a process similar to bereavement, where they experience a range of emotions including shock, anger, and denial, before eventually coming to accept their condition.

The RNIB is the UK's leading charity for people with vision loss. The RNIB website offers useful information, such as coming to terms with sight loss.

The RNIB's helpline is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm and Saturday from 9am to 1pm. The number is 0303 123 9999, with calls costing no more than a standard rate call to an 01 or 02 number. You can also email helpline staff (helpline@rnib.org.uk).

The RNIB's website is specially designed for people with sight loss and provides a wide range of useful information and resources, including an online community and RNIB online shop.

A classic car show i did--- Beautiful car plus i liked the colors and reflections by the sunset. I simply put the car to a simulated film effect on Exposure 2. Camera was an Olympus E500. The name comes from the sky's reflection on the car-- reminded me of the movie.

Jökulsárlón is a visual dream if you like landscapes or even if you don't....:) The sunset was extremely spectacular that evening and although the wind was too fierce for cool sunset reflection shots, it was still a real nice photographic moment...

30 Days of Perception - Day 6

"Movement through gesture is a form of communication.

All phenomena are animate and expressive."

Kim Manley-Ort

As we express ourselves through gesture, movement and body language, so do all living things, including plants.

I cut a small branch of ivy to put in a vase to illustrate how the graceful movements suggest body language. I notice how the tiny new branches take directions of their own away from the main stem and how each leaf has its own personal expression. When I observe the movement of the branch, I enter into communication with the way it expresses itself. It's as if I can feel a movement and sway.

The pond in nearby Sosnovka is good for hot summers when you don't want to go to other places. One guy dived in the water cooler than anyone: he ran and did a flip in the air.

Пруд в соседней Сосновке хорош жарким летом, когда на другие водоемы ехать не хочется. Один красавчик нырял в воду круче всех: разбегался и делал сальто в воздухе.

A visual dialogue between eras in the heart of the Eternal City.

This frame captures a young man on an electric scooter passing in front of a modern corten steel installation.

The perforated "ROMA" lettering acts as a contemporary filter, while the historic domes of the churches of Santa Maria di Loreto and Santissimo Nome di Maria rise majestically in the background.

This shot is a testament to the "human comedy" on the stage of daily life, where ancient architecture and modern urban mobility coexist under the dramatic Roman sky.

Documented during my ongoing exploration of Rome's street and documentary photography.

This Saturday 10 volunteers organized a workshop to learn programming with the Scratch visual programming software and robotics with the Lego Wedo and Mindstorms kits to kids.

There have been a lot of other sessions for 3 years since we've started to promote this type of workshop.

Thanks to all these people and the organizations that provides knowledge, computers, resources kits and snacks (ADN Ouest, La ruche numérique, La cantine numérique, Devoxx4Kids, Coder Dojo, Coding Gouter, ...., as well as a large number of companies that are sponsors for these events)

“So, I said, when does the enchantment start? We were sitting side by side, facing the mountains. "It started when the earth was born." Her eyes were closed. Her face was golden in the setting sun. "It never stops. It is, always. It's just here.”

― Jerry Spinelli, Stargirl

As I told you before and in the last post , I do everyday one little illustration . Here you can see the starlings I saw today in front of my window, some flowers and that yellow girl is my vision of Amanda Gorman, the United States' first-ever youth poet laureate. She recited a powerful poem at the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Here are some of her words.:

"When day comes we step out of the shade,

aflame and unafraid,

the new dawn blooms as we free it.

For there is always light,

if only we're brave enough to see it.

If only we're brave enough to be it."

I love that message of hope.

thank you www.flickr.com/photos/colorfulexpressions/ for making me pay attention to this moment.

It would be interesting to know where all the flotsam and jetsam that ends up on on Black Rock beach originates. It ends up in one corner of the beach as the harbour wall stops it travelling any further up the coast.

Steel bends creating wondertul curves, repetition and pathways that lead me to the heart of this photograph. Mirrored ceilings pick and choose among elements to reflect and, in doing so, create a brilliant canvas of shape and color and lines. As hues morph across the frame, warm joins cool and firey hot to add a kick of high energy. Staring through my viewfinder, I was lost in this world for awhile.

These are the ones! 6200 photo submissions to the OC Visual Arts Competition. I entered only a few this year because I traveled less due to moving, and some personal fitness goals. Feeling so privileged that these three made the cut . Can't wait to complete my 2016 photography / travel goals 😃
