Arthur Frederick Saunders VC ( 1879 - 1947) is honoured here in a new flagstone at the Soane St entrance to Christchurch Park, Ipswich to mark the centenary of his brave actions.
Arthur first joined the Royal Navy at the age of 15, reaching Petty Officer rank. He then went to work for local engineering firm, Ransome's of Ipswich, where he also joined the Territorial Division of the Suffolk Regiment. Once WWI broke out he joined up as a regular soldier and was a sergeant in the 9th battalion of the Suffolk Regiment.
At the Battle of Loos in September 1915, his officer was too wounded to carry on, so Arthur took charge ( although he too had been wounded) of two machine guns and gave support to another battalion until he too was stretchered off the field.
He then went on to join the Home Guard during WWII.

In this small graveyard is buried James Munro who was awarded a Victoria Cross for his part in the battle of Lucknow, in India.
He died a pauper in 1871 and is buried without a gravestone.
here is a prototype of my CV scalar module. The slide pots represent the values of 0%, 12%, 25%, 37%, and so on, up to 100% - this is why there are 9 pots. The input CV is linearly scaled over this range and any values inbetween pots are proportionally scaled to a value inbetween the 2 slider positions. so this is not an analog step sequencer, but rather a transition sequencer with 8 transitional steps. It can be a CV Scalar, arbitrary LFO, arbitrary envelope, or has an attenuator mode to act like a VCA. The knobs offset and scale both the input and the output. The LED's fade between the pots proportional to the CV position.

Aeronautical Museum in Belgrade on April 16, 2015. National Liberation Army of Yugoslavia (NOVJ - Narodnooslobodilacka Vojska Jugoslavije) Supermarine Spitfire Mk. Vc Trop "JK808" (cn 17-545). This aircraft was operated by 1st Escadrille, No. 352 (Yugoslav) Squadron RAF of the Balkan Air Force (BAF). The 1st Escadrille was formed in Libya on April 22, 1944 and equipped with 16 Spitfire Mk. V fighters. The displayed aircraft is painted in the original colours from the time it served with the 1st Escadrille.. "JK808" was transferred to 1st Fighter Aviation Regiment of the newly formed Yugoslav Air Force in May 1945. In 1949 it received the new code "9489". It served briefly in the 112th Fighter Aviation Regiment as a training aircraft, was stored for a short period and then served with the 103rd Reconnaissance Aviation Regiment between 1947 and 1952. It was modified for this role by mounting a Soviet-produced camera below the radio-compartment on the port side. All remaining Spitfires were retired on August 18, 1952. Note the prominent Vokes tropical air inlet and dust filter.

This VC-9C, serial number 73-1682, transported America’s top leadership from 1975 until 2011. Much of that time it served as Air Force Two for Vice Presidents Walter Mondale, George H.W. Bush, Dan Quayle, Al Gore and Dick Cheney.
It also served several of America’s First Ladies—Rosalynn Carter, Nancy Reagan, Barbara Bush, Hillary R. Clinton, Laura Bush, and Michelle Obama.
When this aircraft was needed to transport presidents into smaller airports—Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush—it served as Air Force One.
It also transported visiting world leaders such as Queen Elizabeth II and the Chief of Staff of the People’s Republic of China.
