Following 'Tea with the Queen' at Windsor Castle, 'Air Force One' with President Joe Biden aboard departs Heathrow for his next stop.... Brussels
Having driven up to LHR and stood for several hours for AF1 and the POTUS 'circus' to arrive and depart, it was somewhat ironic to find out later that after departure, VC-25A 92-8000 took a sightseeing route down to the South Coast, tracking right over my house before following the Sussex and Kent Coastline and turning near Dover for Belgium

My very last VC-10 slide / transparency scan to upload!
Just 28 scans of the wonderful VC-10s uploaded to Flickr - such a great aircraft!
The beautiful sleek lines of the VC-10. I only got a handful of photos of the few remaining VC-10s in 1980, including this rather battered looking Ghana Airways example seen heading for Accra on flight GH703.
9G-ABO - despite being the flagship of Ghana Airways at the time - always looked decidedly scruffy when I saw her, as seen in this picture! The aircraft was withdrawn from service later in 1980.
9G-ABO c/n 823 - Vickers VC-10-1102 - delivered new to Ghana Airways in January 1965. The aircraft flew with the airline until being replaced by a DC-10 leased from KLM late in 1980. Ghana Airways eventually bought their own DC-10 9G-ANA in 1983 which became a regular sight at Heathrow for a number of years.
After withdrawal, 9G-ABO was flown to Prestwick for open storage, finally being broken up there in 1983.

Might be inspired by the famous photo of a VC woman walking with an M16 at a watercourse.
I have gotten more and more into the codl war and it's conflicts. I have switched my nma figs to yellow skin, I like the older look for them. I have a couple of both VC and NVA soldiers. I've also built two tuk tuks that I want to use in some MOC, haven't figured out what yet.
I watched the mini series called The same sky which was really good, now my most played playlist on spotify is a newly created 70-80s list. I built a couple of 50s cars, I both want to build a Saigon '68 MOC and a Berlin, haven't really found any inspiring photos for any of it, so I haven't started yet, please tell me if you do. ;)
As always critisism is appreciated, and a comment more than a fave.
P.S
I hope this pic isn't as flash heavy, I have a little problem with the settings on the camera...
RAF Fairford, 13 July 1985.
61-2491 brought a 4-star general to the International Air Tattoo. You can see 4 stars in the windows next to the crew door.
This Jetstar was based at Ramstein with 58th Military Airlift Squadron. The old, noisy jets of 58th MAS were replaced by C-20 Gulfstreams in 1986.

… joins the flight line at IWM Duxford. Incredibly enough, 'Central Railways Uruguayan Staff' was actually funded by mostly British expats run Uruguayan Central Railways, when built under contract by Westland in Somerset in 1942.
Even more improbably, this very aircraft escorted the famous "Memphis Belle" returning from her last mission in 1943, which the B17 in the background has been impersonating since the eponamous movie.
