All around Korea, on utility boxes and lamp posts, this grey spiky covering is applied to thwart people posting notes and stickers. I guess one could say this is the aftermath of a workaround pictured here...
Hidden in the middle of a nearby woods near Eagley Brook/Birtenshaw was this disused electricity pole. If you look nature has taken a hold, this would have once carried cables across the valley. What's really interesting is the plate on the right hand pole.....which suggests this fed the local area from the long gone 'Back o'th Bank' power station
Made to last, this blanket has been in constant use since my mother-in-law had it as a girl. I love the deco styling of both her name tag and the iconic utility label. I've blogged a little about it here: scrapiana.com/2010/11/04/temporary-spool/

After the state closed the facility in the early 1980's, it was taken over for use as an "annex" of sorts for a nearby hospital, a purpose it served until the mid 2000's. Most recently, a juvenile detention facility made use of one of the wings. Now after a period of vacancy, the property was sold and plans are underway for conversion into a senior care center....

I spotted this Holden FJ Utility in the suburbs of Brisbane, Australia. I managed to take a few of these pictures while the owner was going into the liquor store to get a six pack of beer.
Setting the fence two feet in from the property line allowed space to conceal a long traveling downspout that carries roof water 40 feet against grade to the back garden, where trenching delivers it to upslope, water hungry Meyer lemons.
Found under layers of paint , our jeep had no back seat in it during the war , it was used on an airbase carrying gear around .........
