After digging through the wall (you can see the two holes in the lower right) they made their way into this utility corridor.

Didn't get as much done today in terms of tearing walls out, mostly because I carried the pile of debris out of the house. But here's the wall between the family room and utilities room. you can see the chimney and water heater through the studs.
Zihuatanejo is switching to underground utilities. The funkiness of the meters is going to be gone, for a while anyway.
January 2013 update. I was just here to visit friends and it appears that the touristification of Zihuatanejo's centro touristico is pretty much complete, and any individuality has been banned. I took almost no photos.
RIP Zihuatanejo antiguo.
love this! i really purged a lot of junk items that i never use and reorganized. now i have room for new tools :)
