Examples show basic techniques such as sewing, mending, patching, knitting, darning and some embellishing techniques. Some of these techniques were taught up till the 1970's to girls in elementary school to give them the skill to provide their later family with good clothing.

Coddington village is a small settlement surrounded by the beautifully rural East-Herefordshire countryside. The church is noticeable from afar thanks to its sturdy spire making it a useful landmark.
The handsome spire and tower beneath however are Victorian additions, as the medieval two-cell building was extensively restored by F.R.Kempson in 1865 and thus owes much of its present appearance to him. The side walls of the nave and chancel however are still old medieval work, which makes the exterior a curious patchwork of the centuries.
Within the church is an intimate and inviting place, light with whitewashed walls and some lovely late Morris & Co glass in the two east lancets of the chancel. Most of what we see is of the 1865 restoration but there are a few older features such as the 13th century font and the aforementioned glass is really lovely.
Coddington church used to be kept open and welcoming to visits but I'm not so sure if this is still the case. I revisited in 2021 but was unable to get inside (which was disappointing as I'd really hoped to upgrade my photos to do the fine Morris glass better justice). It was of course just after Covid so this may have been the reason, but their website below mentions Sundays as being a time when the church is open, so it could be that opening times have been reduced.

Not one useful picture after the pep rally yesterday. I think back to how hard I was on my students 15 years ago--they shot with FILM--and I don't understand how one wouldn't use the wonders of technology to adjust before continuing to shoot bad photos.
I just don't understand how we could have NOT ONE good picture from the event.
It was time for a little talk with the staff today. Talk. Rant. Whatever it's called that we advisers do this time of year.
