No use of filters in this shot, just f/16 with 3 bracketed exposures, nothing i like better is to come down to this wonderful place as the tide was coming in, i know i have shot this loads of times but i'm just capturing an image with some nice movement, the light was also fading fast hence the under exposed shot at f/16 was about 4 seconds, giving that foreground just enough movement, i think the same shot taken with 1 normal exposure would not give you the same effect, it really is worth while practicing these type of seascape images, you never know what you might achieve

This bridge is commonly used by Norwegians to travel over the border to Sweden to buy cheap booze and food

and not to mention all the cheap sweets...

I'm standing on the old bridge, taking this picture

We can pay in Norwegian currency if we want and we speak our own language and understand the other one perfectly.

We tend to go a bit bananas when we are "over there" 😁 And you shouldn't think that we are used to alcohol..

We have strict rules about how much (or how little) we are allowed to buy of meat and alcohol.

If we bend the rules we can log into one app and say how much we're bringing over the border and pay by the app, or you can "smuggle" it over.

There is seldom anyone checking you, you just pass the border and maybe seeing a guy or two in uniforms.

There is even ways to find out if the customs are stopping cars and then you'll wait until they are done.

We are the sweetest neighbor of them all 😁

Using my variable ND filter. I rarely use it I'm just not standing near water very often but I love to use it!! I don't know why these 'aberrations' showed up on this image but I still like the blue tone, the stillness of the water and the mood, so I had to share.

This was taken up at Barr Lake east of Denver.

Thank you all so very much!!

If I wasn't using my very (un)inspired naming system, I'd call this one Laceberg.

The shape of this iceberg was amazing, but so were the deep blues shining from deep inside it and what I saw as lace in the delicate shapes on the top. A beauty.

I repurposed my old B&W enlarger to become a photo copy stand. It works brilliantly in its new job because it was originally built to be perfectly square between the base and the tower that used to hold the light, lens assembly and negative holder. All the parts to make a print from a negative have been removed in favor of the ability to mount my Canon R7 body easily to the rig and then I can "scan" other images and turn them into a digital file.

I've been doing this with my family pictures that don't exist anywhere else except in these images.

But what to do with all the left over parts?

This is what I did with the lens.

The use of strong light and shadow to define the structure enhances the dramatic effect and creates visual depth and dynamism through the contrast of light and shadow.

The composition captures an unconventional perspective on the architectural elements, making it appear like an abstract work of art.

Griffon vultures have been used as model organisms for the study of soaring and thermoregulation. The energy costs of level flight tend to be high, prompting alternatives to flapping in larger birds. Vultures in particular utilize more efficient flying methods such as soaring. Compared to other birds, which elevate their metabolic rate to upwards of 16 times their basal metabolic rate in flight, soaring griffon vultures expend about 1.43 times their basal metabolic rate in flight. Griffon vultures are also efficient flyers in their ability to return to a resting heart rate after flight within ten minutes.

As large scavengers, griffon vultures have not been observed to seek shelter for thermoregulation. Vultures use their bald heads as a means to thermoregulate in both extreme cold and hot temperatures. Changes in posture can increase bare skin exposure from 7% to 32%. This change allows for the more than doubling of convective heat loss in still air. Griffon vultures have also been found to tolerate increased body temperatures as a response to high ambient temperatures. By allowing their internal body temperature to change independently of their metabolic rate, griffon vultures minimize their loss of water and energy in thermoregulating. One study in particular (Bahat 1995) found that these adaptations have allowed the Griffon vulture to have one of the widest thermal neutral zones of any bird.

It declined markedly throughout the 19th–20th centuries in much of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, mainly due to direct persecution and "bycatch" from the poisoned carcasses set for livestock predators (Snow and Perrins 1998, Ferguson-Lees and Christie 2001, Orta et al. 2015). In some areas a reduction in available food supplies, arising from changes in livestock management practices, also had an impact (Ferguson-Lees and Christie 2001, Orta et al. 2015). It is very highly vulnerable to the effects of potential wind energy development (Strix 2012) and electrocution has been identified as a threat (Global Raptors Information Network 2015). Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) used for veterinary purposes pose a threat to this species. One case of suspected poisoning caused by flunixin, an NSAID, was recorded in this species in 2012 in Spain (Zorrilla et al. 2015). Diclofenac, a similar NSAID, has caused severe declines in Gyps vulture species across Asia.

The Brighton Eye

Brighton used to have a Brighton Eye the same as this one but it had to go when Brighton and Hove City Council agreed a deal with British Airways to build the i360 on the site of the old West Pier. The attraction cost £46 million, with £36 million being funded by a Public Works Loan Board (PWLB) loan through B&H City Council.

Formerly known as the "Brighton i360", the project aimed to attract up to 800,000 paying customers every year. The owner of the site, the West Pier Trust, hoped in 2014 that a successful i360 would lead to the rebuilding of the historic West Pier.

In June 2018, disappointing visitor numbers forced the owners to ask B&H City Council and the LEP for better loan repayment terms. The local paper reported that "in the first full year, from August 2016, the i360 had just over 500,000 visitors, significantly fewer than the 800,000 predicted." The shortfall in visitors was blamed on “poor weather and the unreliable train service to and from London”.

The i360 made a loss of more than £5 million last year, the latest financial reports have revealed. B&H City Council are now owed almost £48 million as the attraction suffered another successive year in the red.

I used to think that for a good capture I need a modern camera with large sensor, sticky autofocus, tons of cutting-edge features...

Since I started to use vintage film cameras something changed in me. The more I dive into photography, the more clearly I feel that the photography is about moments and light, not technologies...

change your attitude to the World around you, things, events, people, to yourself after all... And the World will shine with new colors, will open up in a new light...
