The ancient castle of Carpiano dates back to the beginning of the X century, when it belonged to Rovaldo Baldassini, father of Sant'Ubaldo, patron saint of the town of Gubbio.
In the XVII century the property was left to the Curia of Gubbio that built a church dedicated to San Biagio and Santa Liberata.
The church was in use until the property was abandoned, owing to a decline in the population of the area.
In 2001 Riccardo & Marilisa Parisi discovered the old hamlet and immediately fell in love with that "pile of rocks" dreaming to bring life back at the Borgo.
The restoration took many years of devotion and was carried out using original materials and preserving the character of the place.
Most of the furniture, paintings, china and silver are from the owners family collection..
Sometimes its nice to unplug and just chill analog style. It's easy to forget how much fun it is to just play some checkers, and somehow the Simpson's Duff Beer bottle caps even add to the fun.

Moe: Say, Barn. Uh, remember when I said I'd have to send away to NASA to calculate your bar tab?
Barney: Oh ho, oh yeah. We all had a good laugh, Moe.
Moe: The results came back today.
We headed to Hocking Hills this past weekend, for what has become our annual unplug and recharge weekend.
Watching the sunset quietly, quiet my mind, allow me to unplug and relax; away from my normal routine, feel and hear my heartbeat and inner voice...

So... My internet was down for nearly a whole decade. I took loads of photo's over this weekend and had no chance to upload as we are getting our floor done so had to unplug the net. I tell you what, living without flickr is harder than you'd imagine!!
I am now updating my 365, so i know most of these have been uploaded on the same day, but they have the right intentions.
So this is Ash and Andy pretending to have a fight, in Trafalgar Square, completely frozen. We went to London today to do some filming for an NYT music video that was being sent to the opening night in Bejing, for the Olympics, as a reprsentitive of the National Youth Theatre. We were only filming for an hour or so, so we figured we'd make a day of it. and we did. We went to lunch, went to Banksy's Tunnel, did a bit of shop browsing (Abercrombe & Fitch Style), and then went to trafalgar suare and did this; 'this' being freezing in watchable positions, in the middle of London. First it started small, just stopping infront of groups of people as they walked by so they'd get confused and have to walk round you, to walking into each other pretending to start a fight, then freezing in a confrontational position (as shown in the photo, only it doesn't look that impressive as photo's are still anyway). But it was was impressive :-) some people thoguth we were a street act and threw some money for us, some posed with us for a photograph, and some just stood watching for ages. Aw, the things we do to entertain ourselves.
Unplug'd did more than nourish our ideas and relationships. The food at The Edge was incredible. They met the various dietary needs of the group with fresh local foods prepared by Greg and Zena.
