My wife and I decided that the best way to unplug from our lives was to get on a boat and get as far away as we can! We got to enjoy to sights and sounds that our southern country of Mexico had to offer aboard the Carnival Fantasy Cruise liner. And, I got to try my hand in street photography using vintage lenses. Honestly one of the best vacations to date, and we are looking forward to going back!

I had to unplug from Flickr for awhile sorry for not getting back to some of my friends here. Here is a late season shot taken last October not a very good time to shoot plumies, but never look a gift horse in the mouth.

yes, dramatic....but true.
I mowed my whole f'n lawn which is a 1/4 of an acre tonight while I stuck my kids in front of the tv and hoped that they would be ok in the house by themselves. I am itchy and can't stop sneezing. About 100+ sneezes at the moment. I have a stinky electric mower that unplugs itself every few minutes.
.... my lawn looks great though :)

Power control relays in the open metal mesh box. The attached wires all
unplug. We used phone cords and plugs for compactness and ease of
modification and easy take-down.

The annual PowerPlex User Conference is packed wall-to-wall with value content. We spend a few days filling our heads with best practices, new ideas and more capabilities. So at the end of the day, we like to unplug our brains for a few hours and have some fun. We call it “PartyPlex”. It’s a chance to hang-out with all the Plex users and Plexians, engage in some friendly competition and raise money for one of our favorite charities.
This year’s PartyPlex took place at the new Dallara IndyCar Racing Experience in Speedway, Indiana. Attendees experienced the thrill of racing with laps in the cockpit of a street legal IndyCar, behind the wheel of racing simulator games and around the minicar track. There was plenty of good food, drink and music to go around.
This year’s focus charity was the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan. Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with joy. We think it’s a remarkable organization. We were delighted to raise more than $21,000 to support their efforts with the PartyPlex Silent Auction and games.

The best part about getting my iPod stolen by a hyper 2-year-old rawk star is the fact that after she gets the iPod, she unplugs the headphones and proceeds to start dancing around the room with the earbuds in.... sans music.
What this says about the voices/music in her head? Obviously the apple falls not far from the tree :)

It was difficult to capture the meaning of the wood chips and stones in any one photograph. These pics provide some of the impact, I think.
We headed to Hocking Hills this past weekend, for what has become our annual unplug and recharge weekend.
Setup: Ironing board, iron, crumpled receipts, laundry clips, radio and drying rack. I will iron all the crumpled receipts. The heat will
turn receipts black. I will hang the receipts on the drying rack. Then, I will unplug the iron and radio and walk away. I will perform in uniform.
