Understanding The Legal Landscape Of The Energy Transition

The Buffer tool, a geoprocessing tool in the Analysis toolbox in ArcToolbox, generates buffer polygons, or offsets, around input features at a specified distance. Buffers show the area that is within some distance of the input features. The tool is popular because the concept of buffering is easy to understand and buffering plays an important role in many geoprocessing workflows involving proximity or distance analysis (i.e., How far away are these things? or What features are within a distance of other features?). Because the Buffer tool is important in performing proximity tasks, a key goal for developers working on this tool has been to ensure that buffers accurately depict distances around features. We've created this beautiful infographic for quick and better understanding of helmet law in California.

California is one of only 19 states that implement the helmet law on all motorcycle riders to wear secure helmets that meet federal safety criteria.

California is one of the Universal Helmet Law states requiring both driver and passenger to Article No 4 of the California Vehicle Code specifies that no one under the age of 18 allowed to ride a bicycle on a bikeway, on a street or on any other public path or trail until and unless he or she wears a helmet that fits properly, fastens fittingly and complies with the safety standards. Wear motorcycle helmets.

Currently, I think that there is no way to understand others except for collecting visible evidences and unite them.

Among the LUISS Business School ERSHub (Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability Hub) activities, on November 10 MBA students had the chance to delve into sustainability issues with Caroline Kaeb (University of Connecticut, Human Rights Institute) Assistant Professor in Business & Human Rights that held a lecture about the United Nations Sustainable Developments Goals.

During the day, MBA students participated in a challenge launched by an NGO that operates in Senegalese and Gambian schools. The challenge’s goal was focused on education and wanted our students to find a way to help children to understand what Human Rights are about. Human rights are essential to democratic development and to citizenship education. By fostering an understanding of human rights to children, the higher education can strongly support to develop in the learning process attitudes of respect of equality and dignity.

Standing in solidarity, Alberta and Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to establish closer collaboration and support in the energy sector.

The new partnership will focus on sharing knowledge, expertise and best practices in the energy industry. As part of the MOU, Alberta will strive to provide advisory and physical support for the reconstruction of Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

“The people of Ukraine and Alberta share an indelible connection. We have much in common, not least of which is our experience and proficiency in the energy industry. Alberta is well-positioned to provide support as Ukraine rebuilds energy infrastructure devastated by the Russian invasion.” Danielle Smith, Premier

The agreement outlines potential areas of cooperation, including hydrocarbon development, electricity, energy efficiency, reducing emissions, developing technology and exploring new sources of energy.

Alberta and Ukraine will establish a general framework for this partnership that could include guidance on other initiatives, such as personnel training, contracting processes, capacity building and innovation.

“Over the decades, Alberta’s energy workers have accumulated a vast storehouse of knowledge and expertise – from geophysics to drilling to completions to pipelines. We are thrilled to share our experience to help Ukraine rebuild – and in the process learn a few things ourselves.”

Brian Jean, Minister of Energy and Minerals

As a result of the Russian invasion, Ukraine’s production of petroleum and other liquids declined by 70 per cent between 2021 and 2022. Likewise, crude oil and equivalent production in Ukraine declined by 80 per cent during the same period.

Alberta will endeavour to provide help that meets the urgent needs of Ukraine’s energy sector, supplying goods such as energy equipment and services including repairing networks and critical energy infrastructure, and providing much-needed fuel.

This MOU will be in effect for five years. It is guided by the objectives and principles of the Joint Declaration on Special Partnership between Canada and Ukraine of March 31, 1994. (photography by Chris Schwarz/Government of Alberta)

Mugaritz has cultivated relationships with chemists, microbiologists and neuroscientists to deepen their understanding of the chemical aspects of food. During a visit to MIT in 2014 that was initiated by Pedro Reis, Gilbert W. Winslow Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering and Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Mugaritz team focused on the structure of materials—something that is central to the expertise of the engineers at MIT. Chefs from Mugaritz’s Research and Development team presented their work in a lecture and demonstration,“Mugaritz, a natural science of cooking: senses, structures, textures and emotions,” which was part of the MMEC (Mechanics: Modelling, Experimentation, Computation) seminar series and co-sponsored by CAST, and they met with faculty working on the mechanics of fluids, materials and structures.

On November 2, 2016, Chef Andoni Luis Aduriz and others from Mugaritz joined MIT faculty for a forum on creativity across disciplines and to screen the 2015 documentary about the restaurant, Off-Road: Mugaritz, Feeling a Way.

We celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied and multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.

We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

525/779 The inclusion of the urban parkland has always been considered as one of the most important aspect of the urban space, from Nash's redevelopment of the Regent' park to the more recent Le Corbusier's Garden City based on the communal living idea, the planning of the park area has always been considered quite thoroughly throughout the course of history.

Base on my limited understanding of the constructivists' idea of architecture or landscape design, actually architecture mainly, the plan view of the parkland is somewhat considered as important, and the arrangement and order of each elements are pre-determined in order to preserve the spatial continuity that comes from the form.

Bernard Tschumi's scheme for Prac da le Villette however demonstrates a rather different attitude towards the unity of the form. Instead, he promotes the discontinuity of the form, which the segment are to be arranged through a rational process of patterning. Yet, by looking at many of the de-constructivist architects, the so called rationality was in fact achieved through an unjustifiable process, mostly through instinctive judgement, experience or aesthetic aspiration. It is hard to remain rational through the whole process.

As the development of the city scape is usually a process of organic growth, as the patterns are developed over time and refined constantly through frequent use. Through parametric design, it is possible to model such changing pattern by introducing time, and using the data to simulate the changing pattern therefore as a result, achieving the most desirable form through experimentations.
