My understanding is that in Indian weddings there is always a procession for the groom and his friends prior to the ceremony.
These "professional revellers" were a wonderful group of people that performed ceaselessly for three hours with grins on their faces.

Artist Statement

“Where the Water Listens” exists in the moment just before understanding.
I am drawn to thresholds—places where one state quietly becomes another. In this work, water is not a barrier but a listener. It records what is felt but not spoken.
The figure stands in companionship rather than dominance. The animal is not a pet, not a symbol to be solved, but a presence—alert, reflective, and aware. Together they occupy a shared pause, a small pocket of time where nothing needs to happen for meaning to exist.
My practice often centers on memory as a living environment rather than a past event. The flowing hair, the softened light, the partial submersion all suggest that identity is fluid—held in motion rather than fixed.
This piece invites the viewer to remember a moment when they, too, stood quietly with something they trusted, listening for what the world was about to say.*

The Advocacy and Policy Institute (API) conducted a workshop on Understanding the Roles of the Cambodian Parliament and Civil Society Organisations to Strengthen Good Co-operation, on 6th November 2009 at the Phnom Penh hotel. The British Embassy has supported the API project from the Strategic Programme Fund for Human Rights Democracy and Good Governance (SPF HRDGG) from 2008 to 2010.
Ms. Lesley Saunderson, Deputy Head of Mission, (left) , remarked on the importance of Civil Society Organisation engagement with parliament. Then HE. Mrs. Kloth Torng Phkar, Chair Commission #8 of the Senate opened the workshop.
There were about 100 participants who participated in the workshop. They were National Assembly and Senate members and its staff, UN agencies, International agencies, LNGOs and students.

Del 12 al 14 de febrero Costa Rica es anfitrión del Understanding Risk Centroamérica, una conferencia donde cerca de 500 expertos internacionales se reúnen para conversar sobre prácticas e innovaciones para la compresión del riesgo de desastres y el riesgo climático en Centroamérica.
En la actividad que se desarrolla en el Centro de Convenciones de Costa Rica participan expertos, organizaciones, e instituciones académicas, quienes buscarán construir alianzas estratégicas para pasar de la comprensión del riesgo a la acción en resiliencia ante desastres.
Asimismo, se abordarán diversos temas en materia de inclusión social, compromiso comunitario, patrimonio cultural, resiliencia costera, servicios meteorológicos, climáticos e hidrológicos, resiliencia fiscal y financiera, urbanismo, análisis de riesgos y comunicación del riesgo.
En la inauguración este miércoles participaron Carlos Alvarado, presidente de la República; Vinicio Cerezo, secretario general del Sistema de la Integración Centroamericana (SICA); Seynabou Sakho, directora del Banco Mundial para Centroamérica; investigadores de la NASA como Sandra Cauffman y Daniel E. Irwin, y el gerente país de Waze para Colombia, Perú y Centroamérica, entre otros invitados.
