Located in overhang, behind shed.
Right now, the air is exhausted outside, which is a problem as the shop fills with unconditioned air. There's no room inside for the filter, so will box it in and put a vent going back into the shed.
This photo was taken in an auspicious art gallery that was located on the famed Espanola Way. On the last night that Mark and I were in South Beach, we were walking back to our hotel and spotted yet another art gallery.
In the few days that we were there, we had visited numerous galleries that had happened to be free. Most were just run-of-the-mill type galleries, but the one that this picture had a different feel to it. The art gallery that this painting hung in screamed “starving artist”. It was unconditioned with stone walls that looked as if they desperately needed a fresh coat of paint…that no one had the cash to pay for.
After he has been old and sock. I have named him with a new name "Su- name " meaning blessing name. Ofcourse bless him to have better health.
Tracy and I think the fall season outweighs all the other seasons-- its by far the most rewarding and delightful in the way of weather and for the beautiful fresh produce that you can consume. The list of organic veggies this year at the West End Farmer’s market was augmented by numerous out of towner’s. Our favorite, a fellow from Keremeos, “Gurt” was a very knowledgeable farmer, loaded with 6- plus varieties of garlic! He made it most weekends. The blueberries this year are 2 weeks early on account of the dry summer and we found some beauties to eat and freeze for the winter. This year is also the 4-year cycle for spawning Sockeye (have to get to the Adams river to check it out!) and it’s supposed to be a bigger return than usual. We found some nice fillets at the farmers market brought down from the Skeena area and stocked up with about 40 lbs. Also, if you like salmon, we have a good salmon recipe for you alchoholic’s. It uses whiskey, maple syrup, bacon, garlic, coarse pepper, lemon and butter! “Delightful Margret”
Another highlight would be, of course, Red & Millers garden and fish smoker. They have a great selection of organic veggies, raspberries, potatoes and beans that spoil all of us. Tracy spends a few days jarring them, including the picking and jarring of 360 lbs of tomatoes, that she divides with her mom and sisters. Most of the tomatoes they go find are from Nicola River Area. (not far from Spences Bridge)
Tracy B. and myself just spent some time around the South Chilcotin—something we have meant to do for a while. The scenery through Pemberton Meadows into the high alpine Hurley Pass and descent into the Bridge River Valley is stunning. You may not be happy on the Hurley pass with a small car or a vehicle with low profile tires as the washboard and rocks will kill your tires/suspension. The Hurley River Road is not a highway but a Forest Service Road that is not maintained on a regular basis. For clearance reasons a 4x4 is the best vehicle suited for this road. (Bad roads seem to bring good people there...we met good peoples, people). It takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to get over the pass from Pemberton Meadows until you t-bone highway 40 that will take you to Lillooet or Goldbridge. On a good day you should be able to get from Vancouver via Hurley pass to highway 40 in 4-5 hours.
Taughton lake turnoff itself, is about 85 km northwest of Lillooet.
Driving in on the main road to the Tyax lodge, we went past the lake by mistake thinking there might be a forestry campsite near the lake area further on. After climbing a hill and going around sharp corner, we saw a bear paused momentarily in the middle of the road and realized by the color and shape of the back, it was a yearling Grizzly! Had to do a u turn and head to the resort since we wanted lake front accommodation's. At the main lodge we were able to describe the bear we had seen to the front desk people and they didn’t say much, rather than the fact he was motherless and they were well aware of him. Nice spot, this Tyax Resort-- mountainous and unspoiled with numerous cabins, chalets and outbuildings. (must be busy in the summer!). They have a huge log structure with all the amenities including: hot tub, sauna, mountain bikes, canoes, a huge stable full of horses and a Beaver airplane that will take you up to Chilco lake for lunch, or to fly you over the Bridge glacier. The dinners and breakfasts (# of patrons permitting) are buffet style. We are the only campers? but we did venture over a couple of times to check the environs and to have a couple pints. We chose Taughton lake for its small, narrow size (canoeability) and for the towns of Bralorne-Goldbridge (Close by) that we wanted to explore for their remoteness and for the interesting Real Estate.
Taughton lake itself is in the transition zone (rainshadow) between coastal and interior, no cedar is evident, lots of fir, poplar, rose hips and berries including masses of wild cranberries that Tracy noticed immediately growing around the lake. Tracy, her mom and sisters would make these berries into jam or syrup when they lived up in Dawson Creek and she says she hasn’t seen these berries since then.
After leaving Taughton lake we drove up to Lac La Hache via Lillooet, spending a couple days with Tracy’s parents. We had intentions of going into Alexis for a couple of days to visit J&J Broomhall but soon thought (J&J) may like some quiet-time alone so we spent the next few days tucking back into the mountains, down the Duffy lake road back to the Birkenhead. No Battery life for camera's.. It sure cooled off. It was like someone flicking a switch. We endured some fresh snow, had tarps covering everything, had a big fire and some whiskey…
This year may have an early winter?
Tracy and I are getting back to some of our roots and activities that we used to enjoy and know best. It’s been a good summer and here are some thoughts for you.
(Eckhart Tolle), Vancouver author of the Power of Now and Stillness Speaks)
We have to take a moment to think how much time was spent this year listening to the sound of rustling poplar trees in the wind, or watched some wispy cloud wrap around a mountain peak. I am typical of the city dweller where the world seems so noise polluted and driven, that the idea of quietness and stillness can spook you for a while. Rather than a void, silence in the outer world helps to access the riches of our unconditioned mind. This allows us to enter a state of inner alertness and in that alertness, we stop looping through our past and we find our true selves. A place where thoughts, ego’s and attachments fall away and we are left with only what the moment has to offer. Take the canoe-- true in the moment, uninhibited, uncomplicated pleasure-- so enjoyable…Written by BJammin Broomhall 2006
A properly insulated basement can save you money on heating and provide a dry, comfortable living space. In most cases, a basement with insulation installed on its exterior walls should be considered a conditioned space. Even in a modular home with an unconditioned basement, the basement is more ...

It's reasonably difficult (for me) to use a Lensbaby with a flash unit, though I got some pointers last night on metering with it, which I haven't tried yet.
On a fantastically good note, I had been aware that the K10D had a "problem" with Bulb mode exposures limited to 32 seconds. I knew that the problem was surmountable, though, because one of the deciding factors on the camera was a 7 minute exposure with noise reduction turned off, from another K10D.
I had found an article that stated that the 32 second problem was actually related to an "unconditioned battery", and that multiple charge/drain cycles should take care of it. Well, this morning, I downloaded the firmware update for the camera, and back in the first firmware update, they corrected the 32 second problem. So, instead of having to take a couple thousand shots before being able to try some very long exposure night shots, I can begin, tonight. And I will. My first exposure after applying the update was 66 seconds, with no problem.
Excellent - I'm on it.
"You will scale mountains and sail seas searching for a true teacher and seeking the Way of reality. When you sincerely seek a guide, spiritual benefactors and teachers of the Way descend from heaven and gush out of the earth. At the place where you contact them, they evoke expressions of sentient beings and insentient beings that you hear with the body and hear with the mind. If you listen with your ears, it is the household's everyday tea and meals. But when the eye hears sounds, it is the unconditioned. When you see Buddhas, you see Buddhas in your self and Buddhas in others, large Buddhas and small Buddhas. Don’t be surprised or frightened by large Buddhas, don’t feel put off by small Buddhas."

Every day her mind fills itself with blank thoughts, memories, images, and emotions. Some take a pictorial form; others are just a deep feeling she has. She feels a pain, but she can’t identify its source. Wishes, dreams, and mythologies – these are the illusions of her life: what she wants, what she can’t have, what she thinks she’s supposed to be. She fixates on the particulars, genuinely believing that her happiness can be attached to some tangible object or experience.
But the grass is always greener on the other side.
Soon enough, as her mind starts to wander off she begins to get out of herself and her alienated desires. She sees the cruelty of the world - it’s misgivings, its horrors and its realities. Anxiety penetrates her deep; it’s her against it all, all of it spinning and expanding and threatening to implode. She feels herself falling, spinning with it.
Down, down, down.
She is wrapped up and tangled; yet she struggles to be free. When she meets it with resistance, she feels a sudden spark. Not an explosion, not an answer, but a hint. It doesn’t have to be this way. Everything is in the realm of possibility.
Fluctuation. Fluidity. Floatation.
She begins to feel the barriers of time and space lifting. She’s taken back to her youth, back when she had it right, when she was in touch with what she really felt.
Unconditioned.
She sees the way it could be, the way it really is, the way it went wrong, and the way to get it back. She is the creator. She is god. She is truth. She’s meaning. She’s intuition and depth.
She knows this wisdom, like everything else, is fleeting. But she also knows that what she’s learned is in there somewhere, in a place she can draw from in times of need. How to hold onto it? Maybe a nice aphorism will do? How about this one:
“What I want is what I’ve not got, and what I need is all around me.”

I'm dragging my feet, sitting at my computer in my "casual professional" work gear trying to build up the courage to sit in my cubicle for the day after seeing amazing things, breathing fresh unconditioned air and taking photos to my hearts content.
Don't get me wrong, I actually love my job, it's just that I think I could use at least another day of Adventure! ; )

Heating and cooling account for more than half of the energy used in a typical household, according to the Department of Energy. This means that for the average American household, this is the main energy cost. This also means that letting warm air into your home during the summer months means spending a lot of money on electricity. Here are some preventative steps you may take in your home to avoid wasting both energy and money.
How to Detect Air Leaks
In order to decide whether there is any air leakage, you can have a licensed HVAC technician come to your home and conduct a complete home inspection. Following such an inspection, the technician would be able to make recommendations for resolving any problems that are discovered. If you want to do a quick search for air leaks, light an incense stick and walk around your house with it, looking for leaks and holes in common areas.
Any time you see smoke blowing sideways, it's a sign that you've discovered a leak that's allowing air in.
To detect air leaks, use an incense stick.
It's also crucial to inspect your ductwork for leaks, especially if it's in the attic or basement. If you can reach your ductwork and find leaks, you can use metal screws and foil tape to repair disconnected or leaking segments, but mastic sealant is preferred.
Some of the Most Common Air Leak Locations
Holes and cracks in your home can appear anywhere, but the following are the most popular locations:
About the edges of doors and windows
Between the floor and the exterior doors
By way of baseboards
Around the openings to the attic (if your attic is unconditioned)
Electric switches are close by.
Around any holes in exterior walls for wires, cables, or pipes
By means of recessed lighting
Repairing Air Leaks
Even tiny cracks and holes will let up to 25% of your home's cool air escape, causing your HVAC system to work overtime. Your energy costs and consumption can both be reduced if your home is properly sealed. Warm air will not escape your home if you insulate your attic and walls and plug any cracks or gaps. Many repairs are easy and can be completed on your own or with the assistance of a home repair professional.
Here are some solutions to some of the most common problems:
Fix air leaks around doors and windows with weatherstripping, caulk, or insulation.
To keep air from escaping, position a door sweeper at the bottom of exterior doors.
Cover recessed lighting canisters with fire-resistant, insulated covers.
Apply thin caulk beads between the baseboards and the drywall.
Attic hatches should have foam board on the door and weather-stripping around the opening perimeter.
Wrap wires, cables, and pipes running through exterior walls in weather-stripping or insulation.
Foam gaskets should be mounted inside switch boxes.
HVAC During Warm Summer Months
This summer, don't let your energy bills get out of hand.
Your HVAC system would have to work longer to keep your house cool if you don't have enough insulation, which means higher energy bills for you. You will save money and resources in the long run by making sure your home is well sealed and testing for air leaks.
It's also a good idea to get your air conditioning unit inspected before summer arrives to make sure it's in good working order and to do any necessary maintenance. To make an appointment, call (619) 514-2114 now!

Brief description: This project resulted in the preservation of tens of thousands of paper records damaged as a result of Hurricanes Irma and Maria which happened in rapid succession in late 2017 and subsequent storage of those records in a damp unconditioned environment due to protracted power outages during the months that followed. The Enterprise Program, and records managers and administrative staff from Region 8 and Region 6 comprised a team that mentored and assisted the El Yunque National Forest in post-disaster inventory and transfer of the Forest’s paper records to a contractor for preservation through conversion to a digital format. This project allowed the El Yunque National Forest to become one of the first nationally to meet the OMB M-19-21 requirement to transition to all electronic records by December 31, 2019.

The room is extremely tall and light comes through a single window in the top corner of the room. But the room feels more comfortable than intended. Air Curtain reduces penetration of insects and unconditioned air into a conditioned space by forcing an airstream over the entire entrance. The air stream layer moves with a velocity and angle such that any air that tries to penetrate the curtain is entrained. Air curtain effectiveness in preventing infiltration through an entrance generally ranges from 60 to 80%. we at Cosyst Devices offer high quality and durable air curtains to all over India, we have our own manufacturing unit with offices in Bangalore & Mumbai.

View from SouthEast. The existing garage is in the rear. We plan to split this in two, but leave as unconditioned space: 1/2 will be a utility room; the other half will be a one-car garage bay - used for storage.
Facing the Unknown is for me a celebration of love, as all love originates in the Divine Love, the same uncreated being that moves the whole cosmos. We cannot find love, love finds us. We cannot have love, love has us. We seek it because it seeks us. In finding love’s stream, love draws us back to its source. There we find the source of the whole cosmos, and become the place where love appears. In this we face the unknown. We cannot add anything, nor take away from it. If we limit our love to ‘I love this or I love that.’ we condition our facing. Love’s being is unconditioned.
If love finds an object, that object is no other than the reality of love itself...... No feeling of mine, no emotion, no thought or opinion or desire from what I think I am can ever reach its height. So, I leave all that aside and let love be love for its own sake. If it has an object let it be Beauty, and let that Beauty expand so that I may be sunk to the utmost depth in the ocean of love’s infinity and oneness.
The practices we'll be doing help us develop trust in our awakened heart, our bodhichitta. If we could finally grasp how rich we are, our sense of heavy burden would diminish, and our sense of curiosity would increase.
Bodhichitta has three qualities: (1) it is soft and gentle, which is compassion; (2) at the same time, it is clear and sharp, which is called prajna; and (3) it is open. This last quality of bodhichitta is called shunyata and is also known as emptiness. Emptiness sounds cold. However, bodhichitta isn't cold at all, because there's a heart quality---the warmth of compassion---that pervades the space and the clarity. Compassion and openness and clarity are all one thing, and this one thing is called bodhichitta.
Bodhichitta is our heart---our wounded, softened heart. Now, if you look for that soft heart that we guard so carefully---if you decide that you're going to do a scientific exploration under the microscope and try to find that heart---you won't find it. You can look, but all you'll find is some kind of tenderness. There isn't anything that you can cut out and put under the microscope. There isn't anything that you can dissect or grasp. The more you look, the more you find just a feeling of tenderness tinged with some kind of sadness.
This sadness is not about somebody mistreating us. This is inherent sadness, unconditioned sadness. It has part of our birthright, a family heirloom. It's been called the genuine heart of sadness.
Sometimes we emphasize the compassionate aspect of our genuine heart, and this is called the relative part of bodhichitta. Sometimes we emphasize the open, unfindable aspect of our heart, and this is called the absolute, this genuine heart that is just waiting to be discovered.

This is what insulation looks like when air drives into insulation. This is exzactly what wind washing means. When unconditioned air drives into any insulation (except spray foam) it deplete the R value!!
Have us do an energy audit or estimate to find out how to stop this!!
