I found an angel in my moms garden. I found another one face down in the mud. I reunited them.

I find it scary and pretty at the same time. The way the muddy one is looking is kind of creepy.

Sam at a young age, Mo at a young age and Mick at a young age .... Mickey is now 24 and I'll let you do the math if you want to know my age...

Just moments after I shot this photo, we were driving out of McCloud, heading back to Montana (a two day drive for us). Boy! Were we glad to be going home after working for 9 days on a "little" renovation.

One of the better shots of Dommie. Even though he is blind he can "see" me and always "looks" for me. He wiggles his butt when he finally smells me. We have to carry him up the stairs to go outside, he buries his face in Darren's tummy. Dominic is a good teacher, and has taught us about life and to live in the moment. I got him many years ago in Waldport Oregon at the coast and have enjoyed having him with me ever since. When I saw the box that he and his brother were in, Dominic's head popped up and I thought to myself..."I hope he's that one I get to keep! " Same as he looks here only really little. Love at first sight.

Cookies are all baked and we're doing the cleanup. Yes, I did wash the bowl (again) after Sam finished. When my kids were still living at home, they did this part .... ;-)

Word to my mother: You put sweet temptation right in front of me! What is a retriever to do? I know you pride yourself in how you pick out the best fruit so very carefully. The batch of perfect white yummy peaches that you brought home this last shopping trip was so irresistable that I had to eat every LAST one of them even if it meant hurting you and awkardly skootching to the BACK of the counter! Remorse is setting in - -will you forgive me? You did last time!

Word to the daughter: Yer just lucky I don't hold grudges very long and am a forgiving person! Now back to your --kennel er www.flickr.com/photos/8593414@N05/1333393146/

I loved how much this dog seemed to love his owners.

45 or so days into his recovery. Such a happy kid.

Sam would rather be closer to us than sleeping on his nice, soft bed (see that in the background?) He wasn't supposed to be in the house because we had tools all over and were intensely renovating -- he would have been underfoot. So .... here he is getting away with as much "inside space" as he thought he could ... for the rest of the story, see this photo: www.flickr.com/photos/montanaraven/56969448

Happy Mother's Day...Love you Mom :)

The best thing that ever happened to me...MY MOM...everything that i am...i owe it to her...!! The countless smiles...the robust support...the happiest of all my memories...all given by her...Love you Mom..u mean the world..n much more..thanks for giving me "myself":)

He knew he wasn't allowed in the house after we got the new carpet in so he just put his head over the threshold -- "Does this count, you guys?" (This is the house we were renovating for friends, not ours ... and yes, we did let him in once in awhile, when we were sure his feet weren't muddy...)

Still a pup at around 11 months old, but that's changing so fast.

One interesting benefit to this awful collar Sam has to wear is that maybe it funnels sound and he can hear a little bit. Normally he's 99% deaf (the other 1% is when he hears cookie packages open, or the can opener working on the cat food cans -- he gets to lick those ...)

According to humanistic psychology, in order to undergo self-actualization, to become all they are capable of being, children need unconditional positive regard, also known as unconditional love. By contrast, parents sometimes place “conditions of worth” on their children. Subtly or obviously, they let their children know that they appreciate, value, and even love them more if they become what the parents want them to be. Such conditions of worth can derail children from their path of self-actualization. To develop according to their own internal design, children need unconditional love, just as plants need sunshine.
