These cute little frogs are in a tank at the aquarium. That tank is so dark that you don't see them when you walk past it.

My friend Helene didn't even know there was anything in the tank until I showed her one of these shots.

The Red-eyed Tree Frog (Agalychnis callidryas) is an arboreal hylid native to Neotropical rainforests in Central America.

The Red-eyed Tree Frog is a small-sized tree frog, reaching lengths of about 5 - 7 centimeters (3 inches). Its dorsal surface is green of varying shades, and its ventral surface is white. The sides of the frog are purple or blue, with vertical white stripes and orange toes. Young frogs are typically brown in color and turn greener as they mature, although adult frogs can change their color depending on mood and environment.[1] Both females and males have bulging orangy red eyes with vertically narrowed pupils, resembling the eyes of domestic cats. Red-eyed tree frogs have soft, fragile skin on their belly, and the skin on their back is thicker and rougher. Males are generally somewhat smaller than the females.

Bright markings along the sides and limbs reduces predation. Most animals that prey on A. callidryas (some bats, snakes, and birds) often rely on their vision. When the frog moves to avoid the predator the bright colorations flash into view (hence their name, flash colors) and throw off the predator. This is achieved by leaving a ghost image in the visual field of where the frog was originally. This confuses the predator and gives the frog time to hide. These flash colors may also deceive predators by making the frog appear poisonous.

Red-eyed tree frogs are not poisonous and rely on camouflage to protect them. During the day, they remain motionless, cover their blue sides with their back legs, tuck their bright feet under their belly, and shut their red eyes. Thus, they appear almost completely green, and well hidden among the foliage. Their eyes seem to glow in the dark.

Red-eyed tree frogs are mainly carnivores. They prefer crickets, flies, grasshoppers and moths. Sometimes, they will eat smaller frogs. For froglets, fruit flies and pinhead crickets are the meals of choice.

During the mating season, when rainfall is at it highest, males of the red-eyed tree frog form choral groups to entice females to small water pools where their eggs are then laid and fertilized by a chosen male. The males do this by climbing onto the backs of the females and rubbing their hind limbs along her rear flanks of the female. The eggs develop into larvae and later into small tadpoles. After full metamorphosis weeks later, the juveniles that survive the first few weeks crawl back into the undergrowth and security of plants in the vicinity of these pools, often in the hollows of tubular plants like bromelias.

Red-eyed tree frogs inhabit rainforests from southern Mexico, through Central America, to Northern Colombia.

Thinking of all the Women in my past and present that have touched my heart,

It is unfortunate how some people think they are superior to

their Mother... yes their Mother is a Woman that gave birth to these ignorant people. its time to take your blinders off.....

To all you beautiful Ladies that have touched our hearts

may God bless you!

P.S on my tags it says International Women's Day, this is March 8th,

The tittle has a meaning on its own please don't go by that, just google it:-)

Photoshot beautiful family

On yesterday's wisdom walk, I was inspired to look for treasure...

Please cleanse my soul of this pain and anger, it is not my place to judge.

Watch over them, I pray for those who hold material value higher then the gift of friendship and love.

Watch over these friends who have shown nothing but concern and realize people need people. Material can be replaced. Love is a rare gift especially when given unconditionally and keep my heart open for I know you are out there even if we never spoke personally.

Blessed Be to all and may a new era of love and understanding come to us before we destroy the gift of this planet you gave us.

It's about forgiveness and I do forgive, I will not forget who was there for me and be eternally grateful.

A parent's love is the only kind of love that a child does not have to earn.

From our mother and father, we learn what it means to love unconditionally.

The cats and dogs and many other animals are lovely creatures in my eyes. They are much better friends or companions than humans in my opinion.

We cannot understand why people want to abuse, harm, torture or kill these beautiful beings.

I watched a documentary on TV about animal abuse recently and also read about animal rights commentary on newspaper. I am really disappointed with the terrible things people have done with the animals.

My wife and I visited Richmond Animal Shelter a few weeks ago and I took a few shots of the cats staying there.

Happy Friday and have a great long weekend!

If any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all.

(By the way, as a Canadian, I hate that some people seriously think we talk like that. Grrr...)

This is for my fellow IKEA dorkette, Pinkbelt. Rather, this is the Canadian (night time) version of her photo from last year.

Specifically, this was to show her how the Canadian version of the 2006 IKEA catalogue is very different from the American one. (Gawd, just look at the exchange rate on a bedroom set! !@#$%) I like how the American version is all light and rosey... while the Canadian one is warm and woodsy. :^)

(Girl, we'd self-combust if we were ever in the same room together. :^) KABLAMMO!

With unconditional love, loyalty, and companionship down to their very last breath.....man’s best friend!

Did I have a Happy Mother's Day? Yes, my child and her husband came to visit!:~) I am fortunate that they live nearby. We had a good time looking through old photos. We talked about this one, though we did not look at it, as I had it in slide format. Thanks, Ontario Wanderer, for scanning it for us!

Don’t let yourself be mislead and disappointed in your relationship by myths about happy couples’ do’s and don’ts.

Your relationship might be more “normal” than you recognize.love is not always roses and chocolates. It can get messy and complicated at times....

"Matisse", I picked that name because he reminded me of Pepe' Le Pew the cartoon where the French skunk pretends to be a cat because he is in love with a black & white feline. Matisse and I played, "hide & seek", "pursuer & distancer". "'Pepe Le Pew' & the cat" everyday I was with him for 19 years. I really, really miss all those "catty little games"......he always let me win as you can see in this photo :)

The newest attraction at Disneyland Resorts is the Little Mermaid ride. This shot is at the end where King Tritan sends his little girl off to her new life with Prince Eric. It is nice to have a movie where Dad is competent and loving, not the buffoon as so often portrayed. What I love most about this movie is the King's unconditional love for his daughter.

It reminds me of this verse on God's unconditional love for us:

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39
