It seems Ultra Music Festival is pretty much a “go” this year, with a new location set for Virginia Key. However, there’s just one major problem. Another music festival is set to take place at the same waterfront venue over the same weekend.
Rapture Electronic Music Festival was held in the same location in 2017 and 2018 — and now the festival is suing Ultra Music Festival for trying to move in. Rapture and Ultra are both selling tickets for their respective events, but there’s obviously only room for one.
According to the lawsuit, Rapture is suing over the right to stage a weekend’s with of live music on Virginia Key. The suit asks the court to halt Ultra’s plans for a music festival so Rapture can carry out its own event. Apparently there were talks with the city and Virginia Key Beach Park Trust to host Rapture in 2019 and 2020.
“This was an opportunity for Ultra and [Event Entertainment Group] to shut down its competing Miami based festival held by Rapture,” the lawsuit reads.
It also asserts that Ultra, the City of Miami and the Virginia Key Beach Park Trust together are violating anti-trust laws by establishing the music festival. Rapture believes Ultra has a monopoly on the spring festival market in Miami.
Rapture first sent Ultra and the city a cease-and-desist letter in early January. That request has gone ignored as Ultra applies for permits and maps out the logistics of the 2019 event.
Ultra Miami plans to take place March 29th – 31st at the Historic Virginia Key Beach Park & Miami Marine Stadium. Rapture Electronic Music Festival is looking at Friday and Saturday of the same weekend, the 29th and 30th.

Raj Kumar Gupta burst into Bollywood and wowed us all with No One Killed Jessica – his gritty film about the real life case of model Jessica Lall’s murder that shook the nation. And now we have learnt that he is currently working on two films – Raid that’s starring Ajay Devgn and goes on the floors now and the second – tentatively titled Most Wanted, is a thrilling true story of an unsung hero.
Raj Kumar is set to be joining hands with Fox Star Studios for Most Wanted. Fox Star Studios has had a penchant of delivering big blockbusters with real life stories like Neerja, Jolly LLB (Part 1 and 2 that had Akshay Kumar) and M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story. This director-producer combo is definitely something to watch out for.
Raj Kumar Gupta says, “Stories of real-life heroes always excite me as a filmmaker. Most Wanted is one such story. Looking forward to collaborating with Fox Star Studios on this one. We start post my shoot of Raid with Ajay Devgn.”

The recently released trailer of Poster Boys starring Sunny and Bobby Deol along with Shreyas Talpade in the lead was a rage amongst audiences who absolutely loved the light hearted comedy it showcased. One of the most interesting aspects to watch out for, is Bobby Deol’s ‘shuddh hindi’ rant against the people who put up their posters all around the city.
A source close to the makers of the film told us that Shreyas Talpade and writer Bunty Rathod had personally taken an initiative to coach Bobby. It was a process that Bobby had to follow, which would start off with him reciting the Gayatri Mantra in the morning followed by reading authentic Hindi newspapers on a daily basis in order to improve his diction.
The workshop was extensive and went on for a fortnight; the outcome as we saw in the trailer is definitely applause worthy. Inspired by a real-life incident, Poster Boys is a story about three men, who are shocked to find their pictures being used as part of a vasectomy campaign and how they decide to fight against the system.

Jeffrey Sutorius and the other members of Dash Berlin, Eelke Kalberg and Sebastiaan Molijn, had a rather public falling out in the middle of 2018. Though Sutorius gave a brief explanation as to why he was leaving the group, fans always wondered if there wasn’t something more going on behind the scenes.
More recently, Dash Berlin has been teasing new music and a new album, along with the hashtags #EandS and #thefoundingmembers. Apparently, fans have been asking Sutorius why he has been just letting it happen without response. Finally, over the weekend he responded.
Sutorius accuses the Dash Berlin team of being very cunning, and hiding or blocking comments on Instagram and Facebook so that they can “eventually effectually erase me from Dash Berlin.”
He says, though, at the end, “I do not wish to act bitter, and I want to focus on a positive future.”
Dash Berlin’s response to this was to accuse Sutorius of having someone ghostwrite his press releases and tweets. In another tweet, they seem to suggest that Sutorius walked away from the group with some issues unresolved: “If you want peace you don’t talk to the media, you talk to your friends. And it’s not too late either. We are all still here.”

I recently acquired a one-owner 1976 Pioneer SX-650 Stereo Receiver and have been using it as my main desktop amp for a few weeks now.
It’s an amazing vintage piece that I would describe as big, heavy, and hot-running. Everything feels rock solid and the first thing it reminded me of was how a McIntosh unit feels, everything is just so well built. It’s not usual for me to acquire older gear like this, but its styling caught my eye, so I picked it up. Powering it on the first time was quite a treat, there are two backlit signal meters on the front that still work. The yellow glow is soft yet warming to enjoy while listening to music.

Hooking it up to a few different speaker pairs, I noticed the sound is very cold compared to other amps I have heard. Playing with the bass and treble I was able to EQ it to just the way I like it. Not many audio products have the bass and treble knobs on the front these days. I really like being able to adjust it from the front and on the fly. Highs are clear and mids are clean, but bass seems to lack a bit of punch in my opinion. Music is detailed, but vocals can be a bit cold. I found male vocals to be good, but female vocals to be lacking with this amp. I also noted that there was almost no distortion at loud volumes. I was expecting the amp to not be in the best condition being 40 years old, but it’s still kicking just fine, try that with a modern-day Pioneer in 40 years.
Feel
A glass front panel, signal meters, and knobs that take some finger strength to turn are what makes this Pioneer feel so good to use. Save for the lighting color, this unit has a McIntosh vibe just from how it feels to use. I am not old enough to remember gear from the 70s, but it’s a nice change from modern electronics that just feel slapped together. Picking up the unit feels like you’re hitting the gym. Every switch on the front is solid and makes a nice clank like it’s controlling something important. I do miss five-way binding posts on the back, it just has basic connections that can be tricky to plug in.

Final Thoughts
It’s a neat little amp to have on your desk and it’s been a great conversation piece. It hasn’t really given me any issues despite being almost twice as old as I am. I really don’t like how much heat it gives off. It actually warms up my office and that’s not good when you live in Florida. These units can still be found on eBay for around $100 and it’s a great amp for show, but it’s not my go to for sound. I wonder how many more years I can get out of it before it finally gives up. To increase the excitement for your kids’ teeth brushing, consider streaming music and dancing while you brush. The music serves as a great distraction and a good guide to how long you have been brushing. It is important to not let the dancing be too much of a distraction or deterrent to good oral hygiene, so make sure a parent is monitoring and that vigorous brushing occurs.
Pick songs that are around two minutes each so your child knows to brush the entire length of the song. Our hope is this will lead to a solid brushing routine and a tired kid after getting all their wiggles out before bedtime!
Switch roles
Switching roles with your kid can sound scary. However, letting them brush your teeth will set the stage for them allowing you to brush theirs. If you’re really concerned about toothpaste going everywhere then just use a wet brush (believe it or not, this works just as well). You can practice counting skills, too by having them count your teeth—or you can turn it into an anatomy lesson by discussing the makeup of the mouth. This is great for the toddler age since sometimes they are simply afraid of the toothbrush and act out since they have no other way to express themselves.
Retail therapy
For just a little money, you can take your kid to the drug store and pick out a toothbrush that they love. Whether it has Disney characters or Transformers, having something that is theirs and that they picked out could encourage a kid’s tooth brushing habit.
Also, check out the different flavors of toothpaste while you’re there. While adults associate minty freshness with toothpaste, many kids don’t like that taste. Thankfully, toothpaste companies have created flavors like strawberry or bubble gum just for little ones.
Bribery
No parent likes to resort to bribery, but sometimes that is the last thing left at your disposal. Instead of bribing with sugary treats (that defeat the purpose of encouraging good oral health) choose other fun actives that your children like to participate in. Do they like going to the park? Maybe give them an extra 20 minutes there. Or let them choose the next restaurant you eat at. These don’t have to be huge things, just small rewards that keep them motivated.
Promoting good oral health starts with tooth brushing, and it begins in childhood. Keeping your child’s teeth healthy is important not only for the health of his or her mouth, but for the health of the whole body as well. Start early by implementing good habits and your children will reap the rewards in the future!
