Disneyland might not be the first place people think of when they planning for a rave, but the parks have a deeper connection to EDM and rave culture than one might think. Every year there’s Raver Day at the Disneyland Park in Anaheim where passholders wear their best rave gear to the parks (and probably freak out the kids). There’s also the new night time show “Mickey’s Magic Mix” which portrays Mickey Mouse as a virtual DJ, involving a visual projection show EDC would be proud of and a Now That’s What I Call Rave Music-esque Disney soundtrack that could use the touch of actual DJ’s. Sorry Mickey. And no one should forget the brilliance that was Head Space, the Star Wars-themed album released by Hollywood Records, produced by an insanely talented group of DJs such as Kaskade, TroyBoi, Claude VonStroke, 3lau, and Bonobo.
However, if you want to attend an actual rave in the park you will have to travel to Disneyland Paris for Electroland.
For its third edition, taking place the July 5-7, 2019, Electroland takes you down the rabbit hole and into the jungle for a unique rave experience in the Walt Disney Studios Park. Those planning to attend can look forward to all the fun of magical universe of Disneyland Paris and its attractions while dancing to DJs such as Steve Aoki, Alesso, Armin Van Buuren, Nora En Pure, and The Magician while enjoying magical projections on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. The actress revealed that this was a neighbourhood sport for her considering her upbringing in Canada and that it has always been her first love. While she is more than happy to take this association forward as a businesswoman, the actress also wants to see this venture as a prospect that can further be used to encourage the sport in the country.

Since 2008, Diplo’s label Mad Decent has hosted an annual Mad Decent Block Party. It began as a simple installation in Philadelphia, but quickly evolved into a multi-city travelling festival that even reached international markets. Its scale was largely reduced in 2017 and 2018, but it appears that Diplo is intent on bringing it back in a huge way in 2019.
According to reports from local Massachusetts publication The Enterprise, Diplo is teaming up with SGE Worldwide, the same team that helps to produce Lost Lands, Big Adventure, Moonrise, Demon Dayz, Rob Zombie’s Great American Nightmare and more, to throw “The Super Mega Ultra Giant Mad Decent Block Party Festival.”
Shortened to just “Mad City” on city documents, the event would take place July 20-21 at the Brockton Fairgrounds, with performances beginning around noon and wrapping up by 11 p.m. on both dates, with an estimated 37,000 people. That is… if it gets approved.
“I never seen anything as big in Brockton,” said Hank Tartaglia, chairman of the Brockton License Commission, in a meeting on March 11. “I don’t know if the city can handle all that, to be honest with you.”
The largest event seen at the Brockton Fairgrounds, according to The Enterprise, was Vans Warped Tour festival in 2003, which drew 23,000 guests. It also caused a newsworthy traffic jam.
Today, Police Chief John Crowley issued a letter to Brockton License Commission stating that “his department could not handle the public safety concerns” involved with a 37,000-person music festival. As a result, the License Commission told organizers that the event must be scaled back and denied their initial application.
“We went through the channels we were told to go through and we got nothing in return except a denial,” said John Reese, of SGE. “No negotiations. No discussions. No nothing.”
“In this instance, the event promoters could not satisfy the public safety concerns,” Mayor Bill Carpenter told The Enterprise. “If my chief of police expresses concern that safety cannot be completely guaranteed, as mayor, I must support his decision.”
The festival was slated to announce a large roster of artists including Billie Eilish and Major Lazer on March 25, but that now seems unlikely.
Writes The Enterprise, “[Chairman Henry Tartaglia] said he could not call a vote on the new proposal until it was formally submitted at a later meeting, which he said is unlikely to occur before March 25. However, he suggested that if Crowley, the police chief, approved of the smaller-capacity festival, his board would follow suit.”

Nestled high in the misty central highlands of Chiapas, San Cristobal de las Casas is a feast for the eyes. The red-tiled buildings of its historic center are laid out in a classic colonial grid, radiating out from the town’s central plaza, the Zocalo. Tourists rove the adjacent streets, making their way past street sellers and buskers. There’s a chill in the air. In contrast to many of the more-touristed parts of Mexico, Sancris, as the locals call it, can get downright cold, a nasty surprise for tourists expecting Coronas and palm trees.
These days, Sancris has a bit of a hippie vibe going on. The backpacking crowd here trends older, and dreadlocked. Once outside the impeccably clean, UNESCO-protected city center, wheatpastes and other street art gradually emerge along walls and side streets. The town now boasts more than one green juice bar. It was along one of these decorated lanes that Paul Perezgrovas, owner and proprietor of Frontera Cafe, grew up.
Frontera Cafe occupies the northeastern corner of a square-shaped building at the northern end of Avenida Belisario Dominguez. It’s a beautiful building. Meter-thick whitewashed walls draped in charmingly warped tiles surround a courtyard built around an ancient well. Small flowerpots and garden patches add color. An awning around the interior edge of the courtyard is supported by beautifully carved wooden pillars, all original.
When I visit the cafe one frosty morning, Perezgrovas explains to me how the building was built as a stable more than 300 years ago, pointing out details as he goes: ancient straps of donkey skin holding the roof’s venerable timber beams together, the uneven flagstones underneath the retrofitted wooden floors. “When I saw this building was available, I knew I had to do something with it,” Perezgrovas explains.
Three years ago, Perezgrovas returned to his native Sancris after 15 years living abroad and working as a coffee buyer with Root Capital, Cafe Direct, and others. But after all that time, he was tired. Tired of flying all over the place in search of the newest coffee. As he prepared a pour-over for me, he explained he was ready to reconnect with San Cristobal again, and hoped to bring a little bit of what he had learned in his years away back to the city.

Perezgrovas’ method is intensely terroir-forward: when ordering, you select a specific coffee and your brewing method of choice, choosing between the usual suspects: French press, AeroPress, and Chemex. On my visit I select one called Reserva del Triunfo, grown in the hills near Jaltenango, Chiapas, in the southern part of the state. The pour-over was bracing, sweet-scented, and nutty. Each coffee is served with a small card with quick facts about the coffee you’re drinking, detailing information about the coffee’s producer, altitude, process, and variety.
A perennial tragedy of many coffee-producing regions is that the best coffees tend to be exported, leaving the locals with whatever is left. Perezgrovas was never comfortable with this paradigm and set out to change it. To that end, almost all the coffees on offer at Frontera are grown in Chiapas by growers that Perezgrovas knows personally (one selection, Finca Las Nieves, is grown by a friend in the neighboring state of Oaxaca). He visits the farms directly and roasts all the beans here in San Cristobal. It’s important to Perezgrovas that he maintains a personal connection with his suppliers.

As I sipped my second cup, another pour-over, this time a buttery light roast called Tacana Sierra Madre, Perezgrovas talked about future goals. He’s working to expand Frontera’s reach. Recently, he started supplying coffee to a few cafes in Mexico City and heavily-touristed Puerto Escondido. He has his sights set on Oaxaca City as a next venue for expansion. But he maintains that it’s important not to lose sight of the details.
“In the end, Frontera Cafe is about community,” he says. Taking in the quietly buzzing courtyard, I’m inclined to agree. Children play around the area’s central well, young people tap at phones or laptops and talk quietly. A music event was scheduled for later the same evening, hosted by one of Frontera’s neighboring shops. Each of the doors on the courtyard leads to a different local business: a craft beer bar, a small-label designer, an art gallery, a bar specializing in mezcal as well as the local Chiapan firewater, Pox. “There’s no way Frontera could occupy all this space on its own,” he says, gesturing at the assemblage, “plus, it feels good to have neighbors.”

Invisalign or Traditional Metal Braces, what is your Choice
There are many factors to consider when deciding whether to get invisalign or traditional metal braces. Several of the key comparisons are the following:
Visibility
The great advantage of invisalign over metal braces is that it is barely visible. This is obviously not the case with metal braces, as they are visible the moment you open your mouth.
Cost
Invisalign tends to cost more than metal braces, as the technology behind it is more expensive. If pricing plays an important role when deciding between the two, do some thorough research. The cost of invisalign varies patient to patient and depends on your geographical location and the severity and duration of your case. Most orthodontists do offer payment plans, many of which are interest free, so consult and research beforehand!
Duration
On average, treatment is quicker with invisalign than with traditional braces. The reason why this is the case is because of frequency of movement. With metal braces, you come into your orthodontist’s office approximately every 6 weeks to get your braces tightened. With invisalign, you change trays every 2 weeks, thus causing your teeth to shift at three times the pace. The average invisalign treatment is 12 months.
Pain
Invisalign doesnt involve metal that can irritation your teeth and gums, while metal wires and brackets used in braces can cause irritation. Pain is generally minimal with invisalign. Most patients feel pain only in the first day or two of each new tray change. Because invisalign trays are changed more frequently than metal braces are tightened (2 weeks vs. 6 weeks), the adjustment and movement with invisalign is more gradual, and so there is much less pain to bear. What I prefer to do each time I need to change trays is to change in the evening before bedtime. I take 2 tylenols, put on the new tray, and by the morning time, the tray has had time to loosen up and becomes a bit easier to remove.
Hygiene
Teeth hygiene is very important, and in this case, invisalign is the clear winner. Because invisalign is removable, you can brush and floss your teeth as thoroughly as you normally would. Unfortunately, this is not the case with braces. You cannot floss for the whole duration of your braces treatment. This results in food particles getting stuck in between your teeth and very possibly resulting in decay. This is not to say that there are no risks with invisalign. In fact, in my research through dental blogs and forums, I have come across some people who reported getting several cavities during their invisalign treatment. This could be just coincidental, or it can be a result of the invisalign. If you practice good hygiene and follow the basic instructions of invisalign, you should be fine. You are not supposed to eat or drink anything while wearing your trays with the exception of water. If you drink a soda or anything other than water, that sugar will get trapped in the trays and as you may know, wetness is a breeding ground for bacteria. It is important to adhere to the water only rule AND to remember to brush after every meal so that food and sugars do not linger and cause possible cavities or decay.
Eating
Since you remove your invisalign trays for all meals, you can go on eating and drinking anything you’d like. Traditional braces limit you in what you can eat since certain foods are more likely to get trapped and stuck in the wire.
Speech
When first starting invisalign, you might have a slight lisp for a few days until your tongue gets adjusted to the new material in your mouth. This usually passes pretty quickly for most people and is hardly noticeable to others.

Bebe Rexha is beyond excited to be nominated for a Grammy award this year, Best New Artist. However, she’s having some major problems with designers who refuse to dress her for the event.
Their reasoning? She’s “too big.” [insert middle finger here]
Apparently her dress size — 6 or 8 — is too large for top designers to want to put their tag on.
“I’m sorry, I had to get this off my chest,” Bebe shares in the video below. “If you don’t like my fashion style or my music that’s one thing. But don’t say you can’t dress someone that isn’t a runway size.”
For the record, runway models typically wear size 00 – 4, which should not be the expectation for every woman walking the red carpet. To think body image is more important to some designers than talent or character is absolutely not surprising, but it’s infuriating nonetheless.

The film Aksar 2 starring Zareen Khan and Gautam Rode faced backlash from the board owing to its sensual song ‘Aaj Zid’. CBFC is of the opinion that the song be deemed as unsuitable for television. Talking about the same, director of the film Ananth Mahadevan also claimed that he is yet to receive explanation from the board as to why the song was considered not suitable for the small screen.
Furthermore, Ananth Mahadevan stated that anyone who has viewed the video of the song on digital platforms would assert that the song doesn’t have any kind of objectionable content. He also assured that the romance showcased between Zareen and Gautam hasn’t been portrayed in an inappropriate manner in the song. However, Mahadevan did also mention that he would be ready to implement cuts if the board reveals the reasons behind their decisions.

With all the high-profile break-ins at celebrity homes of late—recent burglary victims include model Kendall Jenner, singer Alanis Morissette, and hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj—Beyoncé and JAY Z aren’t taking any chances. The megastar couple are reportedly beefing up security at the $88 million mansion they bought in Los Angeles last summer, eager to install the new fortifications before they go on tour later this year.
The couple submitted building permits to add new living quarters for security guards who could then more easily monitor the Bel Air compound 24/7, according to records TMZ obtained.
The security quarters are to be attached to a new two-story, two-car garage facing the front of the property and a new 10-vehicle carport facing the back road onto the property. This is to ensure that all entrances and exits to the gated, 2-acre compound are secure—and no bad guys or gals are getting in.
For regular folks, it’s often not a big deal if a stranger walks onto their property and rings the bell. They’re usually just friends or family or a courier dropping off a package. But celebrities worried about crazed fans or burglars typically “want to be made aware of people before they get to [their] front door,” says Mike White, senior vice president of Hillard Heintze, a Chicago-based firm that provides security for high-profile clients.
“It’s usually smart to start [securing] the perimeter of the property,” White says. That’s why it makes sense for the A-list couple to install these additional combined parking and security facilities around the entrances and exits of the property.
“If someone’s able to get all the way to your front door, your security measures have already failed,” White says.
It’s not as if the rapper/entrepreneur and singer/actress need the parking. They already have enough garage space to fit about 15 cars, plus a motor court for when they entertain and an area for staff parking.
After a prolonged house hunt, the couple purchased their brand-new, 30,000-square-foot home with a recording studio in August to raise their three children in. It features bulletproof windows, a swimming pool, basketball courts, and a spa. There are currently six buildings on the property.
The Carters are slated to embark this summer on their On the Run 2 tour. It kicks off on June 6 in the United Kingdom. The last show is slated for Oct. 4 in Seattle.

The Republican incumbent in Utah’s 4th U.S. Congressional District is reading from a time-worn political playbook to bash her Democratic challenger over his past opposition to abortion restrictions.
Republican Rep. Mia Love charged at the Salt Lake County Republican Convention in April that Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams, a Democrat running for Congress, would back “unrestricted abortion and use your money to pay for it,” as the Salt Lake Tribune reported.
Love is defending her seat in a suburban Salt Lake district that leans Republican, but where Hillary Clinton captured 32 percent of the vote in 2016. The race has gained national attention, landing on the list of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s seats it’s targeting to flip from red to blue. The recognition gives McAdams ready access to national fundraising.
McAdams, a seventh-generation Utahn, is viewed as a strong challenger in a too-close-to-call race. But Love’s charges have put him on offense over his record opposing state-level abortion restrictions. A recent Salt Lake Tribune article played up the fight, with the headline: “Utah Democrat insists he’s just as anti-abortion as his conservative opponent.”
Reproductive rights activists suggest McAdams’ stance is more accurately described as personal versus political: McAdams personally opposes abortion on religious grounds, but has reliably cast votes against abortion restrictions. “Within ‘pro-choice,’ there can be a personal conviction against abortion,” said Pamela Merritt, a reproductive justice activist in St. Louis, in an interview with Rewire.News about McAdams’ record.
Close to 70 percent of Utahns are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS); seven in ten adherents say abortion should be illegal in all or most cases. A Mormon, McAdams recently told the Tribune he has “deeply held beliefs about the sanctity of life.” Like most Mormons, he agrees with LDS teachings on abortion that oppose it except in cases of rape, incest, and life endangerment.
But in an earlier interview in April, McAdams also said abortion was a personal decision. “Ultimately, decisions about terminating a pregnancy should [be] made by a woman in consultation with her physician, family members and faith counselors she trusts,” he said.
McAdams’ campaign office did not respond to Rewire.News‘ request for comment.
McAdams’ voting record as a state senator showed he opposed at least seven bills intended to restrict access to abortion care, including legislation in 2012 imposing a 72-hour waiting period, according to the Tribune’s tally.
“I don’t think someone who voted against a 72-hour waiting period in Utah is anti-choice,” Merritt observed. “He is trying to thread a very difficult needle to say that he personally opposes abortion and that his votes echo the merits of each individual bill.”
She continued,“Both of them are doing some interesting dancing, but the reason I think he’s trying to thread the needle is because his district isn’t as anti-abortion as [Love] is.”
In the 4th Congressional District, support for abortion restrictions is less solid than in the state as a whole. About half of district voters believe abortion should be “illegal in most cases,” with 40 percent saying it should be legal in most or all cases, according to a recent UtahPolicy.com survey of likely voters.
Staunchly anti-choice, Love sat on Rep. Marsha Blackburn’s (R-TN) so-called Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives which pursued false claims by the anti-abortion group run by David Daleiden that abortion providers had illegally profited off of fetal tissue sales. Love and her Republican colleagues also sought to ban abortion nationwide after 20 weeks, defund Planned Parenthood, and create an office within the Department of Justice to enforce the so-called Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act, as Rewire.News reported previously.
Meanwhile, McAdams voted against bills to mandate twice-yearly inspections of abortion clinics and require doctors to describe ultrasound images to patients. He also opposed a religious refusal law, which acknowledged the right of health-care providers to refuse to participate in an abortion, a review by the Salt Lake Tribune found.
In explaining his opposition to a bill to criminalize illegal abortions, McAdams said he feared the legislation would’ve jailed pregnant people for accidents that produce a miscarriage, or for a miscarriage itself. “And, you know, a mother in those circumstances needs support and counseling from her loved ones after an accident, and to criminalize a tragedy in the life of a mother was the wrong thing to do. And that’s why I opposed it, and that’s why the governor vetoed it.”
