Court refuses the stay demanded on the release of Shraddha Kapoor starrer Haseena Parkar
Shraddha Kapoor starrer Haseena Parkar has been facing several controversies, courtesy its plot that revolves around the life of Mumbai’s very own godmother Haseena Parkar, who is also the sister of gangster Dawood Ibrahim. Now yet another minor setback that it faced was when a PIL was filed against the makers to stay the release.
A city resident filed a PIL demanding the stay of the release of the film Haseena Parkar featuring Shraddha Kapoor just a day before its release. According to the petition, the dialogues in the film were anti-national and it also claimed that the film failed to handle certain incidents with sensitivity like the Mumbai 1993 blasts [where Dawood was suspected of being involved in the crime]. On the other hand, the Bombay High Court where the petition was filed refused to stay the release of the film saying that it can’t stay the release of the film approved by the CBFC [Central Board of Film Certification].
Talking about staying the release, the court reportedly also questioned the petitioner for filing the PIL just a day before the release of the film. A bench headed by Chief Justice Manjula Chellur and Justice N M Jamdar firmly asserted that the court wouldn’t interfere in a decision made by the CBFC when they have cleared the movie for public release.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and also starring Siddhanth Kapoor, Ankur Bhatia among others, Haseena Parkar releases worldwide today on September 22.

Fisher took the world by storm in 2018. He showed up everywhere and had one of the biggest, if not the biggest song of the year, “Losing It.” With an infectious blend of g-house and deep house, as well as a hilarious persona on stage and on social media, Fisher became a fan favorite for millions. He was also named one of Your EDM’s breakout artists of 2018.
But while Fisher is waiting to find out if he’s won a GRAMMY, there’s another name making waves in the US: Ricky Retro.
There are a lot of similarities between Ricky and Fisher, beyond just their sound. Whereas Fisher’s character is unapologetically Australian, Ricky is the epitome of ‘Merican values. Every other post on his Instagram seems to be him shotgunning a beer, playing a frat party in the midwest, or visiting a race track.

If that wasn’t already ‘Merican enough, he’s out with a new single aptly named “Murica” after the red white and blue he reps harder than any American DJ before him. Ricky represents everything we love to hate about America, which makes for the perfect rage anthems for ultimate debauchery.

In short, what we’re saying is, we have a feeling Ricky Retro is going to have a stellar year ahead of him. Check out our favorite of his recent songs, “1977,” a blend of Lynyrd Skynyrd-style guitar riffs and deep house synths.

OMG! Did Apurva Asrani call Kangana Ranaut a criminal?
Just today in the morning we posted news of Apurva Asrani refusing to react to the latest tirade of Kangana Ranaut on a popular talk show on a news channel. The actress accused Apurva Asrani of unnecessarily creating a scene over not getting credit for Kangana’s upcoming film Simran, which he wrote. Kangana Ranaut claimed that he was always going to get due credit for writing Simran and also says that it was all a publicity stunt from his side.
Apurva Asrani however has now decided to open up on these shocking allegations. He made a series of tweets wherein he didn’t take anybody’s name but it’s obvious that he’s responding to Kangana’s claims. He raked up the issue of ‘pseudo feminism’ and asked that if it’s fair that women transgress the limits of decency just because men also do the same? He hit back at these ‘pseudo feminists’ and blamed them for cheering for a ‘woman who commits a crime’. He then asked whether these women are trying to understand the issue completely or are they being lenient towards Kangana Ranaut? He didn’t stop at that and said that it’s strange that the ‘pseudo feminists’ celebrate when a woman breaks the rule, but shame a man for doing the same. He finally signed off by saying writers being harassed is injustice and that’s something that won’t change despite Kangana Ranaut’s outspokenness.
Looks like this explosive interview of Kangana Ranaut has ruffled quite a few feathers in Bollywood. It now remains to be seen how the others, targeted by Kangana, react, namely Aditya Pancholi, Adhyayan Suman and above all, Hrithik Roshan.
Women who transgress the limits of decency & fair play by saying ‘men did it, so why can’t we?’ only compound the problem. #pseudofeminism

Hardcore Till I Die music festival is making headlines for all the wrong reasons as a violent — and now viral — video clip from the event has surfaced of a dramatic arrest.
Footage shows a handful of officers holding down a man and one of them “booting” the “poor guy” while he’s down. The video has sparked much outrage on social media as potentially unwarranted police brutality. Of course, there’s much more to the story than this “harrowing” 30-second clip.
According to a report, Isoa Rabuatoka (18) allegedly punched a security guard in the face, spat on police officers, and threw a glass bottle at an 18-year-old girl. The bottle was apparently meant for a security guard, but it struck the attendee, leaving her with glass embedded in her face.
When police approached and confronted Rabuatoka about this series of incidents, he reportedly became violent. It’s also alleged by police that he had “an entire bottle of Jim Beam and MDMA in his system.”
Despite the reasoning, one police officer can clearly be seen viciously kneeing the suspect. Many people on social media are angered by the video and believe the police officer took this way too far.
“This makes me physically sick omg,” one comment reads.
“These dickheads [the police] need to be taught manners,” another says.
“The NSW Police Force, backed by the Lib government, has been given free reign to abuse their powers for far too long,” a share from anti-drug dog campaigners Sniff Off reads.
Watch below and sound off in the comments.

“Fixer Upper” has ended, but Chip and Joanna Gaines are still with us—thanks to Joanna’s new spinoff, “Fixer Upper: Behind the Design.”
This new show, which premiered on HGTV on Tuesday, walks us through renovations from past seasons of “Fixer Upper.” Well, call it more of a slow stroll, showing us behind-the-scenes footage. Chip makes the occasional appearance, but Joanna and her decor ideas are the true stars this time around.
“You’ve seen our fixer-uppers, but you haven’t seen the full story,” Joanna says. “For all the little decisions that turn these houses into dream homes, construction is only half the battle. So I want to show you how all the details and designs come together before the final reveal.”
For the first episode, titled “The Baker House,” we revisit the home of Patti Baker, a widow who moved to Waco, TX, to be near her grown sons. She wants an uncluttered design that’s a bit country, with lots of space to hang family photos. (Didn’t catch this particular “Fixer Upper” episode when it first aired? HGTV conveniently reruns it right before this show so you can easily catch up or get a refresher.)
The renovated Baker home
HGTV
But even if you’re watching a home makeover you’ve technically “seen” once before, it doesn’t feel that way, because Joanna finds plenty more to say that will inspire you anew. Here’s some of the great decor advice we gleaned watching the first episode of her spinoff show.
Paint a few swatches before you pick a color—particularly outdoors
Joanna has decided to paint the Baker house gray, but if you’ve been to a paint store lately, you know there are many shades of gray. So she has Chip paint three variations of the hue on the side of the house to ponder how they look—rain or shine, day or night.
She explains that the way a color reflects light at different times of day and under different weather conditions “really makes a difference.”
‘Try out’ flowers before you plant them for good
Plants are such a critical element of landscaping, you have to make sure they’re right. So, in the same way Joanna “tests” various paint colors, she gets the local nursery to deliver several plant options so she can compare her options. Sometimes she even digs holes and switches the plants in and out, so she can really see what will look best in its final setting.
For the Baker house, she decides against fuchsia tulips, because the color is too strong against the gray, and their lines are too vertical. She opts instead for fluffier, more delicate pink flowers instead.
Open shelving in a kitchen? Get dishes that look great on display
The kitchen features open shelving and a farm table island.
Magnolia
Open shelving makes a kitchen look more spacious and is certainly less expensive than custom cabinets, but the drawback is that your plates, bowls, and more are always on display. That can spell trouble if your dishes don’t look fabulous. So what do you do?
Joanna solves this problem by having a local artist and potter, Jonathan Martin, create a set of country dishes that have the name “Baker” stamped on every piece. What’s more, as Joanna arranges that lovely new crockery on the open shelving in the kitchen, she explains how important it is to place items of varying heights and shapes on the shelves to add visual interest.
Use a farm table as a kitchen island
To create more workspace in a smaller kitchen, Joanna opts for a rustic wooden table in the center, rather than an enclosed island.
“In this case, using a table helped to make the room feel bigger, because you have an unobstructed view all the way to the back wall,” she says.
Ledges = an easier way to display framed photos
Photo ledges line the living room wall.
Magnolia
Baker has lots of family photos that she wants to display, so Joanna suggests running two photo ledges, or shelves with grooves in them where photos can sit securely, across one living room wall.
“You can just set pictures on them,” she explains. “With no measuring, no hanging, you’re good to go.” How simple (and genius) is that?
The right colors for a small home
Joanna explains that if you want to keep your small home feeling cozy but not crowded, you should keep patterns minimal and colors more neutral. That way, she says, your home will seem clean and uncluttered.
In Baker’s home, Joanna uses neutral hues and soft color balanced with consistent wooden tones. That translates to mostly beiges, creams, and pale blues, with lots of natural wood accents.
Make room for a master bath
While Joanna usually makes rooms bigger (or at least seem that way), in this home she shrinks the size of a “powder bath” for very good reason: to make more space in the master bath, which shares a wall with the powder room. After all, Baker will be using the master a lot more, so it deserves more space. The powder room doesn’t, and is almost cuter when small.
What’s up with the Baker house now?
This isn’t covered on the show, but we thought you should know: While Baker loved her new house, she put it on the market for $349,900 just months after the “Fixer Upper” filming wrapped. Why? Because she received a surprise marriage proposal from her town pastor—on their first date, no less—and the house is too small for them both. The house is currently off the market, so it appears that some lucky buyer snapped it up! We get it: Who wouldn’t want to bask in that Gaines glow a little longer?

Cedarhurst, located in Holly Springs, MS, is a Gothic Revival masterpiece with quite a historic pedigree. Built in 1857 by a wealthy doctor named Charles Bonner, the home was a makeshift hospital during the Civil War and the headquarters of the commander of the 4th Military District during Reconstruction. The home is now on the market for $272,000.
Bonner’s daughter, Katherine Sherwood Bonner, was a feminist and author who studied with Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. In 1878, Bonner and his son died in a yellow fever epidemic, and later the home passed to Sherwood Bonner’s daughter Lillian.
In 1901, the home was sold to William A. Belk, who named it Cedarhurst. The house is still occupied by the Belk family today. Cedarhurst’s new buyer would be only the third family to live in the house in 161 years.
The house is classic neo-Gothic, with its two-story gables, Tudor windows, and cast-iron balustrade made at the nearby James-McIlwain foundry. If Southern Gothic is your thing, Cedarhurst is an amazing deal.

With five bedrooms and three baths, the 5,000-square-foot home features wide-plank wood floors, high ceilings, and fireplaces galore. An in-law wing behind the home has a bedroom and second kitchen. The property also includes 10 acres of surrounding land.
For a 161-year-old house, Cedarhurst is in great shape, and retains a lot of period details such as the light fixtures, the stunning Tudor windows, and the lacy iron balustrade.
“This home could easily be used as a bed-and-breakfast or wedding venue,” says listing agent Stephanie Lawson.
This description of the house, written in 1903 by Mrs. N.D. Deupree in “Some Historic Homes of Mississippi,” could have been written today:
“The home is a commodious brick mansion built in Gothic style, with windows opening to the floor, a wide portico in front, the roof supported by ten slender iron pillars, with handsome fretwork also of iron joining the pillars. The balcony has the same design of fret-work in the balustrade that surrounds it.
“The house stands quite a distance from the street, and is surrounded by a spacious lawn shaded by fine old oaks, holly and cedars.”
Anyone in the market for an extremely reasonably priced piece of Mississippi history should grab Cedarhurst before it’s gone.

Buying a house? Then you’ll no doubt hear tons of advice from people who’ve been through the home-buying process before and want to pass their sage wisdom onto you. Problem is, sometimes the advice that “everybody knows” is right isn’t.
Fact is, housing markets change over time—and the rules vary widely based on where you’re looking to live, along with lots of other specifics. Just so you can keep your eye peeled for the home-buying advice you might hear that could lead you astray, here are common tips to take with a grain of salt.
‘You can save money by buying a fixer-upper’
Sure, shows such as “Fixer Upper” make it look easy, but rest assured, purchasing a run-down home and turning it into something special “is not for the faint of heart,” says Dan Bawden, chairman of the National Association of Home Builders.
To really score a deal on a fixer-upper, you need to be able and willing to do a lot of the work yourself.
“If you have no knowledge of renovation, it’s a lot riskier,” Bawden says. Unless you’re an experienced remodeler, he suggests getting an inspection with estimates from a remodeling contractor before you buy.
Even if you have the ability (and time) to do the fixing up necessary, or have found a reliable contractor who can do the work while staying within your budget, you have to factor in the time you’ll be paying the mortgage and bills without being able to live in the home. Six months of paying rent on top of your house payment can quickly eat into what you saved on your “great deal.”
Bottom line: For the inexperienced, the line between fixer-upper and money pit is perilously thin. Make sure the stress of a remodel is worth the savings.
‘Foreclosures and short sales are bargains, too’
Short sales and foreclosures are often not the deals they appear to be, especially for inexperienced buyers.
“In this market, even banks want to get top dollar for their properties,” says Melisa Aponte, a real estate agent with the Keyes Group in Miami. “People can overpay for a property and still have to go through all the hassle of doing the work on it.” This is especially true for people using FHA loans, which have strict requirements about the condition of the homes they are used to purchase.
It’s difficult for novices to know what they’re actually buying, explains Dillar Schwartz, a real estate agent in Austin, TX. “The price tag may be fair, but the damages are often severe and the room for negotiation is limited.”
With foreclosures sold at auction, you’re buying the property as is: You can’t even go inside before purchase. Is that really a risk you’re willing to take, however great the price is?
‘Always buy the worst house on the best block’
On the face of it, this seems like good advice: Pick the ugly ducking in your area, and the higher value of surrounding homes will elevate its value, which means your home’s price has nowhere to go but up! And that’ll be great when you’re ready to sell.
Still, though, what if you don’t want to live in the “worst house”?
While it’s important to think about resale value, most buyers aren’t real estate investors; they’re people buying a home they’re going to live in. Even on the best block in the world, a home that’s too small for your family or that has other deal-breaker qualities is not going to be a good fit.
It’s better to find the right house in a less expensive neighborhood. After all, in a few years, your neighborhood can change, trees will grow, your neighbors’ landscaping could improve, but your house isn’t going to sprout another two bedrooms.
‘You need a neighborhood expert’
Of course you want an agent who knows the area, but do you really need a neighborhood expert? What on Earth does that even mean?
“I think it’s kind of a fake term,” says Schwartz. “Most cities aren’t as divided as you think.” In fact, working with a neighborhood expert can hurt your search if your agent doesn’t suggest properties in more than one small area.
Even if you think you know for sure where you want to buy, “there may be other opportunities out there that are a better fit, and for a better price,” says Schwartz.
She suggests looking at how many clients an agent has worked with overall as a measure of expertise, not just how many homes the agent has found in a certain neighborhood.
“Beware of reading too much into a designation,” she warns.
‘Cost per square foot gives you an apples-to-apples comparison’
Sure, looking at the price per square foot can help you compare properties of different sizes, and is often used as a benchmark for prices in a neighborhood. But that metric can be misleading.
“Price per square foot isn’t always the best data to make an investment decision off of,” says Schwartz.
That’s because there are many very important factors that don’t show up in that number. For example, you’re looking only at interior space. For real apples-to-apples comparisons, you need to consider the yard, garage, unfinished basement, and anything else that doesn’t qualify for the “official” square footage. It also doesn’t take into consideration the number of bathrooms and bedrooms (only the size), or the condition of the home. Price per square foot is just part of the story.
The most important thing to remember when you’re buying a home is that nothing is universal. Advice that makes sense in one market could be absurd in another—which is all the more reason to work with a real estate agent you trust and feel comfortable asking questions. Here’s more on how to find the right real estate agent in your area.

Tomorrowland’s new winter festival, The Hymn of the Frozen Lotus, is headed to the French Alps this year, March 9-16. With less than a month until the festivities begin, load in for the festival has officially begun.
A few photos from the venue have made their way online — while not a breathtaking look at any of the complete stages or such, it’s still a unique look into the festival weeks before anyone is supposed to see it.
A variety of structures have begun to be erected in the Alpe d’Huez, the ski resort in the Alps hosting the festival. The most pictures show off an iron globe featuring the world’s countries with the official Tomorrowland logo suspended inside the hollow interior.
Another photo (show top right, below) shows what appears to be the beginnings of some sort of structure, but it’s impossible to tell what it might turn out to be.
The inaugural Tomorrowland Winter will feature Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Martin Garrix, Nervo, and Steve Aoki; Kölsch, Joris Voorn, Solardo, and Nico Morano; as well as Timmy Trumpet, Netsky, our favorite dancefloor jokester Salvatore Ganacci, and more.
Select packages still remain for the festival — go here to find out more.

This is an honest user review of the Flair Espresso Maker. I wrote The Rok Espresso Maker review a few months ago, and in this post I promised to also review Flair Espresso, which is the latest invention of this type of manual non-electric espresso maker, so here it is – better late than never ;-).
Bella Barista sent me their demo unit of Flair for the purposes of this review, it’s on loan only for review purposes so this isn’t a case of me getting a freebie in return for a review ;-).
Unboxing and Initial Impressions
The package is small, it’s hard to believe that it contains a lever type espresso maker.
On opening the box, there’s a really compact travel case – and on opening this, the Flair Espresso maker is cleverly packaged with all the parts in a specifically assigned place. What is also handy, is that it shows you in the instructions how to put it all back in ;-), although this is fairly straightforward once you’ve done it once or twice.
This is the standard version, or the “classic” which is £149, they also do a signature model and a black signature model for an extra £40, and while I’d like to say that I wouldn’t pay the extra just for the aesthetics, actually from looking at the signature model, I think I would ;-), they’re very pretty!
Flair comes with a solid steel tamper, which I’m very impressed with at the price, and everything does look very good quality for the cost. (Just take note that I think there is a version which doesn’t come with the steel tamper, I think all the versions from Bella Barista come with this, so if you see them cheaper just check you’re looking at the same version with the proper tamper).
Assembly
Flair is packed in the travel case in bits, to make it super compact, so you need to assemble it first. When I first looked at the bits in the case, it looked a bit intimidating in terms of how many bits there are and how much figuring out I may have to do – I may even have to resoirt to reading the instructions??
Whenever we’ve been to Ikea I usually remember a really important task I have to do, to get me out of the house while my wife puts the stuff together ;-), I’m useless at stuff like that.
Actually, it was ridiculously simple and took me about 20 seconds to put together for the first time, no instructions necessary!
Using Flair Espresso Maker for the First Time
I have to admit that it took me a bit of time to get on with Flair. I think partially this is down to the instructions, which I don’t think are fantastic when it comes to dosing, but also down to the fact that I was using the same kind of grind that I use for my La Pavoni, and a similar grind that I found to work for The Rok, but it seems with Flair I needed to go slightly more coarse.
I was finding the flow on the slow side to begin with, and therefore the Espresso over extracted, and when I went more coarse it didn’t seem to help, but I wasn’t quite going course enough it would appear, and issues I was having with dosing didn’t help.
The instructions say to fill the dosing cup with beans, and I decided to follow the instructions to the letter for the purpose of the review, and doing this seemed to overfill the portafilter regardless of the grind. When I ignored the instructions in this regard and dosed with 14g, I seemed to get the best results, at a more coarse setting than I’d usually use with the La Pavoni Euripicolla and The Rok.
Does Flair Make True Espresso?
This is a question I asked when I reviewed the Rok, and as with Rok, Flair certainly makes true Espresso, with no electric, no pumps, no steam involved – which I do find amazing. Aeropress is often described as an Espresso maker, as are Moka Pots and other manual coffee makers, but Rok and Flair are the first manual coffee makers I’ve used that do, in my opinion, make true Espresso.
How Good is the Espresso Pulled via Flair?
Very good!
I pulled shots of Espresso with Flair alongside my La Pavoni Europiccola, and The Rok, using the same coffee. Once I’d got over the initial issues with the grind and dosing, I was pulling shots of a very similar level to The Rok, with the same beans. I wasn’t able to quite compete with the shot quality of my Europiccola with either Rok or Flair, but I wasn’t far off, to be fair.
The taste was very close, but crema and mouthfeel I just couldn’t quite get to the same level as my lever machine with either of the manual Espresso makers.
This isn’t a put down of Flair (or Rok), as I’m comparing non-powered manual coffee makers to an electric machine costing four or five times as much, so that’s really not a fair comparison. Also, I was using a medium roast, I can get great results with medium roasted beans via the Europiccola, but I believe that it’s slightly harder to get the same results with medium roasts with the manual non-powered espresso makers vs. dark roasts. This probably wouldn’t bother most people as many would be using darker roasts for Espresso anyway.
Having said that, I do think, judging from other reviews I’ve read such as the Flair Espresso Review on Home Barista, that this kind of quality is possible.
As far as I can make out, the main difference between the way I’ve been using Flair, and the way others have who have rated it on a parr with powered lever machines, is that while I was following the instructions and pre-heating the cylinder with hot water (which didn’t seem to make much difference really, vs not preheating it), others have found that this doesn’t pre-heat it enough just with hot water (especially when using medium roasts, as I usually tend to) and that better quality shots come from actually boiling the cylinder in a pan of water, and then using tongues or heat proof gloves to handle it.
If I’m buying an Espresso maker based on portability, then I wouldn’t want to have to be boiling the chamber first in a pan of water, personally. Then again, maybe I could overcome this by using a darker roast. I will try it with a darker roast and update this review accordingly.
Conclusion. What do I think of Flair Espresso maker?
I think it’s brilliant. If you’re only wanting Espresso, you’re not concerned about steaming milk (or if you’re happy to froth and steam milk via alternative means), and if you’re wanting an Espresso maker which is portable and compact, and which is capable of making nice Espresso, and won’t break the bank – then Flair may be your perfect Espresso maker.
Life is like a box of chocolates, so follow me on Twitter, and that’s all I have to say about that.

There really are some exceptional commercial and residential roof replacement companies in Vancouver. These business concentrate on roof repair , replacement gutters, vinyl siding repair, rows, ice dam removal, infrared moisture detection, maintenance, ice dam prevention and so on. Whenever you get complications or obtain the wish to modify the presentation of your home, you can seek advice from a repair company.
There are many competent roofing contractors out there and they can handle large and small projects. They service businesses and all kinds of residences such as townhouses, apartments, condos, and private homes. They can fix any type of roofing such as shingles, flat roofs, tile, and metal. Many roofing companies offer free consultations and estimates, so you should definitely take advantage of that. Meet with a few roofing specialists. Get answers to your questions and compare estimates until you find the best person for the job. Some roof repair companies offer same day repair services, so keep that in mind if you are shopping around. A roof is the most important part of a home or building, so you should get the problem fixed immediately. A poorly installed or damaged roof can cause excessive damage to a building, so find a contractor who can repair your roof quickly.
How to Install Metal Roofs in Vancouver?
Roof repairs are definitely specialized projects. Sometimes they be done by the handyman and homeowner. But qualified tradesmen will repair your roof quickly and thoroughly, so weigh this up if you are attempting the project yourself. Roofs protect you and the contents of your house from the weather, so repairs are vital. If you’re employing someone else to repair your roof for you, only use a licensed roofer that you can trust, and use them again if needed. Licensed roof contractors will mostly offer a guarantee, so look at this as a benefit and take it up because it does ensure that the repair job was done correctly.Roof DegenerationRoofs can degenerate quickly as the result of a storm, or over time due to general age related factors. Neglected roofs are most prone to bad storm damage.I view a lot of roofs and often see leaks that have come from mostly neglect, especially from rusted gutters which are full of leaves and have disconnected from the down-pipes and water going everywhere but where it should. This consequently breeds other problems which encroach on neighbours creating a domino effect. Its not uncommon to be treating one problem for two different households especially in close inner city communities. Its handy to be on a friendly basis with them! So, clean out gutters yourself or get in a roofer for a small price. While you’re at it, cut those overhanging branches. If roof problems still exist, be suspicious that the fall of the gutter is incorrect. Practicality and general knowledge of the laws of gravity are vital here! Some Types of Roof ProblemsAsbestos-cement is really an issue if it’s damaged so due vigilance is a must. For example do not remove any screws without safety wear and it’s probably best left to the roofer. Yet these roofs can be repaired quite successfully, which can be a relief if you are concerned about it. Skylights are a bit of a bother when they leak, which they do when left too long without maintenance and periodic applications of sealant. Our roofing company deals with these often and our best tip here is to use a good tradesman in the first place to install the skylight and ask them for advice on keeping them in the best condition. They too will eventually need replacing, but you will know when if you are on top of the repair. Broken tiles can be the result of stepping where you shouldn’t, and metal roofs can be dented if you don’t follow the screw line so my tip is if you want to fix it yourself, educate yourself on the structure of the roof by getting on the net or reading about the anatomy of the roof structure. Ridge capping covers the two faces of meeting tiles, and if this is loose it needs to be what is called “re-bedded and re-pointed”, again something to be conversant with if you have one of the most popular tiled roofs in Australia. This type of damage to tiled roofs can be hard to spot, but leaks will become apparent with a little bit of neglect. Tile, metal and slate are the most common types of roofing in Sydney, each with their own specific handlings. Metal roofs for new homes have become more in-vogue, due to their ease of maintenance and sleek looks. But they are not immune to repair and will have their own degree or wear and tear.Roof damage is inevitable as a roof is the most exposed part of a house and susceptible to some mighty elements that can come unexpectedly. So ideally build roof repairs into your budget with the rest of the house or even just have a plan worked out in case your roof is suddenly in need of repair.

While we were staying in our homes during the COVID-19 outbreak, two guests were apparently searching for a new one. Last weekend, two Osprey’s nested on a pole right in front of the Bayside Resort on Lewis Bay! Our staff has affectionately named the birds ‘Oscar’ and ‘Wilma’ and have been closely monitoring their activity since they nested. We can’t wait to share with you educational and scenic views of these beautiful animals. How lucky we are to have a front row seat to one of Cape Cod’s most revered birds!
Oscar and Wilma have been observed searching for fish throughout the salt marsh daily, and are excellent hunters. They circle high in the sky flying on steady wingbeats and bowed wings until they view their prey. You can often clearly see a catch in their talons as one of them carries it back to the nest with a naked eye. The salt marsh offers the perfect habitat for them as it offers shallow waters with an abundance of wildlife for them to prey on.
We are currently working on setting up a live camera feed to add to our website, where our guests will be able to monitor the bird at all times of the day. The camera is planned to be located on the South side of the Hotel, facing the bay. We are taking all necessary precautions not to disturb the birds as they have recently mated. Here at the Bayside, we strive to be good environmental stewards of our neighboring Salt Marsh as it is a critical ecosystem for all types of wildlife. Though we are eager to view and learn about these animals, we understand the importance and responsibility of ensuring these birds remain undisturbed and safe from human interaction.
More photos will follow with any updates on Oscar and Wilma as they begin laying their eggs in the nearby future. We hope you’ll join us in appreciating these birds right from our beach or the outdoor pool!

Tickets for Coachella 2019 sold out quick as ever this year — save for some radio contests and resales, if you were planning on attending the festival, you were SOL. At least, that’s until Billie Eilish decided to drop some special Coachella merch including Coachella passes.
The Coachella bundle from Billie included a fanny pack and bandana, however it is entirely sold out, as are Coachella passes for W1. However, lucky for some, there are a very limited number of Coachella W2 passes still available without the merch bundle.
No telling how much longer before the W2 passes are completely sold out, so get on that ASAP! Click here.
The news precedes Eilish’s debut album release next month, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go.

Pahlaj Nihalani shocked at certain film personalities celebrating his exit
It was a busy Grand-Finale week for Pahlaj Nihalani when as many as 15 Hindi (and that includes a few dubbed Hollywood films) were provided censor certificates before he was asked to leave on Friday evening.
The films in the coming weeks that have been provided with a certificate are Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru’s espionage thriller A Gentleman, Gurinder Chadha’s epic Partition tale Partition 1947, the highly-anticipated Ryan Reynolds actioner The Hitman’s Bodguard, a 3-D version of Arnold Schawrzenegger’s Terminator 2, Amole Gupte’s eagerly awaited film about a child detective Sniff ….
Says the exhausted former CBFC chairperson, “The list of films to be cleared for August 18 and August 25 was endless. Never before had we at the CBFC been given so many films to view all at once. In fact Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s Bareilly Ki Barfi came to us on Thursday and we viewed the film and provided an all-clear U certificate to the film on Friday.”
Nihalani had a very special reason for rushing through the certification of Bareilli Ki Barfi. “This is a film co-produced by Renu Chopra, the wife of the late filmmaker Ravi Chopra. It is her first attempt at turning an independent producer. I didn’t want her film to suffer any delay.”
Nihalani says he was surprised to read the same filmmakers whose films he had cleared on priority, rejoicing his ouster. “I can understand Anurag Kashyap feeling happy about my departure from the CBFC. He has been openly campaigning against my tenure as the CBFC chairperson. There is no hidden agenda in his malice. It’s all out in the open. I believe he has been singing songs after my exit from the CBFC. Glad to bring happiness in his life. But some of the others ‘welcoming the change’ have been telling me on my face that they had no problem with me at the CBFC. And now they say they’re happy to see me go? Wah kya baat hai.”
Without taking any names, Mr Nihalani mentions a recent film in which he had gone out of his way to accommodate the toilet humour. “There were derogatory references to caste and community which I couldn’t allow. The next thing I heard is that the film’s hero had complained to the I & B ministry about my high-handedness. God bless him and all the others who are celebrating my departure.”
The worst jibe post-ouster was on Arnab Goswami’s show where the abrasive anchor openly ridiculed Mr Nihalani.
“I think I replied sufficiently to his taunts. Arnab kept insisting I should say the word ‘intercourse’ out load. Why should I do what he or anyone else asks me to do? By saying ‘intercourse’ loudly one becomes a liberal? And for Arnab’s information, I had no problem with the word. ‘Intercourse’ has been allowed in the new Bengali film Dhanonjoy. No, I am not a prude. But I am pragmatic. I know Shah Rukh Khan’s fans are children, and parents wouldn’t have liked him talking about intercourse in Jab Harry Met Sejal. Let me make one thing clear. The CBFC guidelines do not stipulate that films should not be cut. Yet I was pressurized from the top to not cut, only certify. The CBFC is a confused organization. We need progressive guidelines. Without them we are stuck in a time-warp.”
