Photograph taken at an altitude of Twenty One metres, at 12:56pm on Monday 4th November 2019, off Hyde Park Corner and Park Lane A4202 in the grounds of Hyde park, a Grade 1 listed Royal Park (the largest of) of London.

Here we see a Common gull (Larus canus), also known as a Sea mew, which is often viewed as a smaller and cuter Herring Gull, and found in Northern Asia, Northern Europe and Northwest America (where it is called the Mew gull). It migrates South in winter and has a shorter tapered bill which is yellow tipped and a grey top plumage and streaked grey head in winter.

Spanning an area of 350 acres, the park is divided by the Serpentine and the Long water lakes, and was created by King Henry VIII in 1536 as hunting ground. It opened to the puiblic in 1637 and was extensively improved under Queen Caroline in the early righteenth century. The Great exhibition for which the Crystal Palace was erected, designed by Joseph Paxton, was also held here.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Fifty four metres at 15:25pm on a beautiful summer afternoon on Tuesday 8th June 2021, off Chessington Avenue in Bexleyheath, Kent.

Here we see a large adult Carrion crow (Corvus corone), a passerine bird of the family Corvidae and the genus Raven (Higher classification: Corvus), which is native to western Europe and eastern Asia. It can grow to twenty inches in length with a wingspan of up to thirty nine inches. This one keeps the magpie's and Jackdaw's in their place, as top of the food chain, afraid of nothing. They can reach a length of 47cm with a 104cm wingspan and a weight of up to 650g, and in the UK they are in the Green conservation list status with over one million breeding territories.

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, and having moved from professional Nikon equipment to consumer bodies and lenses, I travel light less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to GETTY IMAGES, and the 31.693+ Million visitors to my FLICKR site.

This one second long exposure using the Nikkor AF-S TC-20E III teleconverter was taken at an altitude of Nine metres, in the magic of the Golden hour around sunrise at 06:15am on Friday 5th September 2014 off 1st Street and Beacon Avenue, from the concourse above the shoreline in beautiful Sidney by the sea on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

Here, we are looking over towards Mt Baker in Washington State, USA from beautiful Sidney by the sea on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Also known as Koma Kulshan, (pronounced kō-ō’mah’ kool-shän’),she is an active glaciated andesitic stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc and the North Cascades of Washington State in the United States, standing 3,286 metres tall and was first ascended in 1868, her last eruption recorded in 1880.

The name Mount Baker first appeared in print in Captain Vancouver’s 1798 narrative of his voyage around Vancouver Island. Legend has it that his third-lieutenant, Joseph Baker, was the first to spot the mountain while they sailed into Dungeness Bay on April 30th, 1792. Also known by the Lummi as Kwud-Shad, and Koba (meaning 'high mountain always covered with snow', was the Skagit name.

This photograph was taken in the magic of The Golden Hour around Sunrise (Sunrise was at precisely 07:56am), at an altitude of One metre, at 07:39am on Sunday January 11th 2015 off Botany Road and Marine Drive, on the sandy shoreline of Botany Bay in Broadstairs, Kent, England.

I set off at 05:30am on a very chilly morning, around two degrees, and a bracing wind that pounded flesh and bones, but well worth the one and a half hour journey there to enjoy a lovely sunrise. The seven bays in Broadstairs consist of: (From south to north) Dumpton Gap, Louisa Bay, Viking Bay, Stone Bay, Joss Bay, Kingsgate Bay and Botany Bay.

(ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably).

With visits now in excess of 19.053 Million to my FLICKR site, used primarily these days as a fun platform to reach friends and family as I have now sold my professional gear and now take a more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to FLICKR, GETTY IMAGES and everyone who drops by.

I was very fortunate to witness several Mother Bald Eagles (Haliaeetus Leucocephalus) as they taught their youngsters how to hunt for American Crows which had nested just nearby, an amazing spectacle. The youngsters watched mum and then one by one took to the sky as she commanded, in search of prey.

This photograph was taken at 16:57pm on Monday May 16th 2016 on Glacier Highway 37A in the Town of Stewart, a district municipality at the head of the Portland Canal in northwestern

British Columbia, Canada on the Canada-US border. The US border side is unmanned and the only entry point into the USA from Canada that has no border guard presence.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Fifty six metres at 08:10am on Tuesday 1st July 2020 off Chessington Avenue in Bexleyheath, Kent.

Here we see, Sciurus Carolinensis (Eastern Gray Squirrel or Grey Squirrel), a tree squirrel native to North America and first introduced to the UK in the 1870's. Though it was largely responsible for the decimation of our own native red squirrel population, those are now on the increase and found in certain parts of the UK including Scotland. The Greys are still an ecologically essential natural forester regenerator.

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as my trusted companion, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to GETTY IMAGES, and the 26.610+ Million visitors to my FLICKR site.

This photograph was taken at 13:59pm on Thursday 19th May 2016 at Barkerville historic town and park, Northern British Columbia, Canada, which features over 125 heritage buildings dating back to the 1860's and named after William 'Billy' Barker, who was one of the first successful Gold diggers of the era. It was declared a National Heritage site of Canada in 1924 and a Provincial Heritage property in 1958, now attracting around 60,000 visitors a year.

This horse was one of a team of six used to pull a stage coach around and through the town (I took a ride for $8 and loved every second), formerly founded by Francis Jones Barnard for his B X Express frighting company which was the main cartage and pasenger service on the Cariboo wagon road.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Forty nine metres at 09:45am on Saturday 20th February 2021 off Blackheath Avenue and Charlton Way in the grounds of Greenwich Park, one of the Royal Parks of London situated in Greenwich, South East London.

The carrion crow (Corvus corone) is a passerine bird of the family Corvidae and the genus Corvus which is native to western Europe and eastern Asia. It can grow to twenty inches in length with a wingspan of up to thirty nine inches. Highly intelligent, utterly beautiful with an amazingly detailed and rich plumage, these stunning birds are much maligned and tainted with unfair tags attributed through folklore and ignorance. I love 'em!

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as my trusted companion, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. Photograph taken at an altitude of Thirty three metres at 13:20pm on Friday 24th August 2018, off Pont de l'Archeveche and Quai de Montebello of part of Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris, also known as Notre-Dame Cathedral, a Medieval Catholic Cathedrale located on the lle de la Cite in the fourth arrondissement of 75004 Paris, France.

Begun around 1160, the cathedral is regarded as one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture, though it was heavily destroyed during the French revolution and subsequently restored during a twenty five year period from 1845. The cathedral is of the Archdiocese of paris. It stands 90 metres tall to the spire, 128 metres in length and 48 metres width. Notre-Dame de Paris was made famous by the Victor Hugo novel published in 1831, 'The hunchback of notre-dame (original French title 'Notre-Dame de Paris or our lady of Paris).

Photograph taken at an altitude of Five metres, at 06:18am on Friday 3rd September 2019 around sunrise off 1st Street and Bevan Avenue, bewteen the boat jetty and Bevan Avenue Fishing Pier in beautiful Sidney by the sea on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

In the distance we see Mt Baker in Washington State, USA . Known to the Lummi First nation people ( Lhaq'temish ) as Kwelshán ('Shooting place' in Nooksack), to the Halkomelem as Kwelxá:lxw, to Lushootseed speakers along the Skagit River as Teqwúbe7 “snow-capped peak'', to the Nooksack language as Kweq’ Smánit (“white mountain'') and also known as Koma Kulshan, (pronounced kō-ō’mah’ kool-shän’), the name for the Middle Fork which originates from the glaciers such as Deming and Thunder on the western slopes, she is an active glaciated andesitic stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc and the North Cascades of Washington State in the United States, standing 3,286 metres tall and was first ascended in 1868, her last eruption recorded in 1880.

I was originally enrolled as a SHUTTERSTOCK contributor on January 28th 2019. Shutterstock is an American stock photography company with headquarters in New York City, founded in 2003 by Photographer Jon Oringer. With a library in excess of 200 million royalty free stock photographs, I am delighted, and most grateful to have been accepted into the fold.

Having been passionate about photography since the age of seven years old, with a box brownie and black and white 120 roll film, these days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as my trusted companion, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. Often referred to incorrectly as Buffalo, the Wood Bison roams the plains along the Alaska Highway, and I was fortunate to have a few encounters with these huge, majestic beauties, having several of the herd pass close by me at one point. HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR 25.5 MILLION VISITS

So it's Christmas eve once more. The nations children are wound up like coiled springs waiting to burst with excitement, and the nation's TV offerings over the festive period are as dull and dreary as the predictable weather (raining again, oh what joy!).

Hungover fathers pester the doorways of supermarkets and butchers stores in the hope of finding the turkeys they were in charge of purchasing but forgot thanks to a few too many sherry's and mince pies... Somehow age sucks the wonderment and fun from the season as we prepare for one day of peace in our time before it's back to work and just another memory in tinsel and tears.... and yet...

Ever the eternal kid, I still love Christmas and am filled with happiness and hope for peace and love and a few days when life feels just a little more like my childhood. For me it's a fun family time, everything to excess, blowing off steam, letting our hair down and remembering those we love and have lost, the memories, the laughter. I love it.

I now look to the future, and the coming year with more travel plans around this beautiful little Earth, more opportunities to photograph Mother nature's power and magnificence, doing what I love the most behind the lens. Thank you all so much for visiting my site, for passing through, commenting and contributing to my happiness. Twenty six million visits is more than I deserve, and I am very grateful to you all.

Happy Christmas, peace, love and happiness to each and every one of you and thank you once again.

Paul

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as my trusted companion, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to GETTY IMAGES, and the 25.900+ Million visitors to my FLICKR site.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Thirteen metres at 18:43pm on Friday 22nd May 2015 off the A87 between Dornie and Ardelve, roughly at the point where Loch Long, Loch Alsh and Loch Duich all converge. Here we are looking across to the very famous and much photographed Eilean Donan Castle.

Eilean Donan Castle (Gaelic: Eilean Donnain) is a picturesque castle that frequently appears in photographs, film and television, including the opening scenes of the eighties cult film, 'Highlander', starring Christopher Lambert (with a fabulous musical score by Freddie Mercury and the boys from Queen, and lies about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) from the village of Dornie.

The castle was founded in the thirteenth century, and became a stronghold of the Clan Mackenzie and allies Clan Macrae. In the early eighteenth century the Mackenzies' involvement in the Jacobite Rebellions led in 1719 to the castle's destruction by government ships. Lieutenant-Colonel John Macrae-Gilstrap's twentieth-century reconstruction of the ruins produced the present buildings

Within the Louvre Palace is the Louvre museum (Musee du Louvre) in Paris, France, with famous exhibits including the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo.

The palace was begun in the twelth century as a fortress, later used as a monastery and converted to a residence by King Charles V in the fourteenth century. Pyramide du Louvre was commissioned by President Francoise Mitterrand and designed by architect I.M. Pei, completed in 1989. It stands twenty one metres tall, flanked by three smaller pyramids

Photograph taken at an altitude of Ninety eight metres, at 10:06am on Thursday September 10th 2015 off Shooters Hill close to Oxlease Wood Cafe in the grounds of Oxleas Wood in Greenwich, South East London, England.

Oxleas Wood is one of the few remaining areas of ancient deciduous forest in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, in southeast London. Some parts date back over 8,000 years to the end of the last Ice Age, the Younger Dryas. I spent a very hapy childhood playiing and exploring in these grounds, and still love to walk here to this day.

(ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably).

With visits now in excess of 17.779 Million to my FLICKR site, used primarily these days as a fun platform to reach friends and family as I have now sold my professional gear and now take a more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to FLICKR, GETTY IMAGES and everyone who drops by.

This photograph was taken at an altitude of Fourteen metres, at 13:11pm on Friday 13th May 2016 off Broadway in the town of Skagway, the 49th State of the United States of America.

This is a snow plough train used on the popular tourist route, the White Pass and Yukon railway. The black blades rotate at speed to push the heavy snow drifts aside.

Skagway is a first class borough in Alaska, United States of America, on the Alaska Panhandle. The port of Skagway is very popular with cruise ships, and although on my visit there were none due in, I was informed that up to five per day can arrive in the high season.
