I was very fortunate to witness Mother Bald Eagles as they taught their youngsters how to hunt for American Crows which had nested just nearby, an amazing spectacle. This is one of three chicks that watched mum and then one by one took to the sky as she commanded, in search of prey.

This photograph was taken at 17:16pm on Monday May 16th 2016 on Glacier Highway 37A in the Town of Stewart, a district municipality at the head of the Portland Canal in northwestern

British Columbia, Canada on the Canada-US border. The US border side is unmanned and the only entry point into the USA from Canada that has no border guard presence.

A location where so often a thin veil of beautiful mist can be found, carressing the open meadow just ahead of the old Eynsford Viaduct. I often see a lone and very large old Badger walking around here, and love the quiet contemplative time this area offers me.

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. (ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015).

With visits now in excess of 17.174 Million to my FLICKR site, used primarily these days as a platform to reach friends and family as well as prospective clients, I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to FLICKR, GETTY IMAGES and everyone who drops by.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Three metres, at 12:59pm on Friday 20th September 2019 off the 17a West Saanich Road, at Patricia Bay near beautiful Sidney by the sea on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

Here we are looking past Victoria Airport Water Aerodrome towards two Canadian Coast Guard (Garde côtière canadienne) moored there. The aircraft above is preparing to land at Victoria International Airport. The vessel on the right is CCGS W.E RICKER, an offshore fisheries research vessel originally constructed as a commercial fishing trawler and subsequently purchased in 1984 by the Canadian government.

Patricia Bay is a body of salt water that extends East from the Saanich Inlet and forms part of the North Saanich shoreline in British Columbia. The bay was named after Princess Patricia of Connaught, daughter of the Duke of Connaught who was Governor General in 1912.

Photograph taken at 08:25am inside the Caffe Artigiano coffee house at 763 Hornby Street Vancouver, BC V6Z 2P4 just off West Georgia Street in down town Vancouver, Canada on April 5th 2010. A lovely atmospheric coffee shop with aromas that pleasantly overpowered your senses upon entry, I visited with David and Alice, my Nephew and his girlfriend and my wife and loved the ambiance and the textures of wood and china that lay before me.

Tbe weathered wood, the hubub of noise from conversations, and my Nephew poking fun out of me as I stole his Girlfriends coffee and started taking shots from one inch away with the Tamron ultrawide lens, to the bemusement of onlookers... memories that still make me smile.

The photographs that I took of the coffee cup, so beautifully prepared and presented, actually formed the foundations for some stories that I wrote, and these have become amongst my most successful and most viewed frames on Flickr with this frame now viewed in excess of 89,000 times. They have also appeared in a book and in a few worldwide publications.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Forty seven metres at 11:27am on Saturday 10th November 2018, off Frakkastigur and Eriksgata inside Hallgrímskirkja (church of Hallgrímur) , a Seventy five metre high 1676 ㎡ Lutheran (Church of Iceland) church at Skólavörðurholt in the Helgason Parish of Reykjavík. The church is named after the Icelandic poet and clergyman Hallgrímur Pétursson.

The church was built between 1945-1986, a lengthy period thanks to continually diminishing funds, and was built by Guðjón Samúelsson. Inside is a pipe organ boasting 5275 pipes that was built in 1992, standing fifteen metres high and weighing twenty five tons.

The statue in front of the church is of Leifur Eiríksson (Leif Erikksson), a Norse explorer and son of Erik the red (Eiríkr Þorvaldsson), Leif Ericson was the first European to set foot on the continent of North America, before Christopher Columbus. Designed by American sculptor Alexander Stirling Calder, the statue was a gift from the United States of America to Iceland to commemorate the 1000 year anniversary of Alþingi, the parliament of Iceland.

Reykjavik is Iceland's capital city, and the most populous at 124,847.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Seven metres at 12:14pm on Tuesday January 1st 2019 off Roan Street and St Alfege Passage, outside St Alfege Anglican church in the centre of Greenwich, part of the Royal Borough of Greenwich in South East London.

Designed by architect Nicholas Hawksmoor between 1712-1714, it is dedicated to Alfege, Archbishop of Canterbury who was murdered by ransom seeking Danes who held him captive. The building was rebuilt in 1290 and saw King Henry VIII's baptism in 1491.

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as my trusted companion, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to GETTY IMAGES, and the 32.171+ Million visitors to my FLICKR site.

With a population of just Two hundred and ninety one, it is an important service centre catering for the coastal strip between Skógar and the west edge of the Mýrdalssandur glacial outwash plain.

Reynisfjara black sand beach and Reynisdranger Basalt columns on the south coast of Iceland, close to the fishing village of Vík í Mýrdal.

Reynisfjara boasts several enormous basalt stacks and powerful, roaring waves off the Atlantic Ocean, and was voted as one of the top ten non-tropical beaches to visit on the planet by National Geographic. The Reynisdranger basalt stacks are named Langsamur, Landdrangur and Skessudranger or Háidrangur.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Seventeen metres at 15:32pm on Tuesday 26th May 2015 off the A87 at Sligachan (Gaelic: Sligeachan), a small settlement on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. It is close to both the Red and Black Cuillin mountains and provides a dramatic and beautiful viewpoint that is loved by locals and tourists alike.

In the background we see Glamaig (Sgurr Mhairi) with it's distinctive almost conical shape, then Beinn Dearg Mhor stretching left to right behind it.

The oldest known bridge is that still standing alongside the modern road. Whether it replaced an even older bridge, or more likely a ford, is uncertain. The bridge itself appears to have been built in the 1820s and consists of three arches. The middle arch is the widest, but the side arches are not mere flood arches, as the River Sligachan is a wide and ferocious piece of water for most of the year. The roadway is slightly humpbacked over the large central arch and only single track.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Fifty four metres at 13:43pm on an beautiful summer afternoon on Monday 11th April 2022, off Hythe Avenue and Chessington Avenue in Bexleyheath, Kent.

The Herring gull (Larus argentatus), the largest gull in the United Kingdom measuring up to twenty six inches in length. They have a wingspan up to 150cm and can weigh up to 1440g. In the UK there are 140,000 breeding pairs and around 740,000 wintering birds, but they are sadly on the UK Red conservation status with dwindling numbers over the years. Like the crow, they are omnivorous and are partial to fish fingers and hotdogs as I have found!

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as my trusted companion, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to GETTY IMAGES, and the 32.406+ Million visitors to my FLICKR site.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Nineteen metres, at 10:12am on Thursday June 20th 2019, in the grounds of Hyde park, a Grade 1 listed Royal Park (the largest of) of London. Spanning an area of 350 acres, the park is divided by the Serpentine and the Long water lakes, and was created by King Henry VIII in 1536 as hunting ground. It opened to the puiblic in 1637 and was extensively improved under Queen Caroline in the early righteenth century. The Great exhibition for which the Crystal Palace was erected, designed by Joseph Paxton also took place here.

Here we see an Egyptian goose (Alopochen Aegyptiaca) on the Serpentine lake within Hyde Park. These were once considered sacred by the ancient Egyptians, appearing in much of thier artwork. They are native to Africa South of the Sahara.

Photograph taken at an altitude of One hundred and twenty two metres at 10:25am on Sunday 24th May 2015 at the Fairy Pools near Glenbrittle at the foot of the Black Cuillin Mountains on the Isle of Skye in the Highlands of Scotland

The Cuillin (An Cuilthionn or An Cuiltheann) is a range of rocky mountains located on the Isle of Skye. The true Cuillin is also known as the Black Cuillin to distinguish it from the Red Cuilin (na Beanntan Dearga, known locally as Red Hills) across Glen Sligachan. The Red Cuilin hills are lower and, being less rocky, have fewer scrambles or climbs.

The highest point of the Cuillin, and of the Isle of Skye, is Sgurr Alasdair in the Black Cuillin at 992 m (3,255 ft). The Cuillin is one of 40 National scenic areas in Scotland.

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as companion to my D7200 DX, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to GETTY IMAGES, and the 21.448+ Million visitors to my FLICKR site.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Fifty five metres at 12:18pm on Tuesday April 18th 2017, of the Colosseo, (Also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre and Colosseum), Rome, Italy. It is situated in Regio IV Templum pacis (Temple of peace).

This view is taken from Collis Palatium (Palatine Hill), close to Orti Farnesiani sul Palatino (Gardens of Farnese upon the Palatine). Created in 1550 on the Northern section of Palatine Hill by Cardinal Alessandro Farnese, these were the first botanical gardens privately owned in Europe.

The Colosseo was built of concrete and sand, the largest amphitheatre ever built with construction commencing in AD 72 under Emperor Vespasian and completion in AD 80 under his successor Titus. The Colisseum could hold up to 80,000 spectators and was home to gladiatorial contests, slave executions, public spectacles and later, animal hunts and re-enactments of battles and drames using lifts and mechanisms to hoist scenery and animals onto the stage.

The Colisseum ceased to be used for entertainment in the early medieval era and went on toi be used for housing, a quarry, workshops, a fortress and a Christian shrine. A massive earthquake in 1349 destroyed the outer southern wall, followed by neglect, and theft of metalwork and stones over the years. There have been many calls to demolish the Colisseum, and even plans to turn the structure into a hotel, but nowadays the building is protected and revered as one of the most iconic landmarks in Rome with a fascinating history, and a link to a worldwide call for the banishment of capital punishment.

An adult entry fee in April 2017 is twelve Euros, which allows a two day pass into the Colosseum and nearby Palatine Hill.

Here, we are looking over towards Mt Baker in Washington State, USA from beautiful Sidney by the sea on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Also known as Koma Kulshan, (pronounced kō-ō’mah’ kool-shän’),she is an active glaciated andesitic stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc and the North Cascades of Washington State in the United States, standing 3,286 metres tall and was first ascended in 1868, her last eruption recorded in 1880.

The name Mount Baker first appeared in print in Captain Vancouver’s 1798 narrative of his voyage around Vancouver Island. Legend has it that his third-lieutenant, Joseph Baker, was the first to spot the mountain while they sailed into Dungeness Bay on April 30th, 1792. Also known by the Lummi as Kwud-Shad, and Koba (meaning 'high mountain always covered with snow', was the Skagit name.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Sixteen metres at 09:27am following a South eastern Network train from Bexleyheath to London Bridge station at 07:53am on Tuesday 13th April 2021, off Bankside Beach on London's South Bank, looking back over The Millennium Bridge, officially known as the London Millennium Footbridge, which was designed by Norman Foster, and was constructed between 1996 and 2000.

It is a steel suspension bridge for pedestrians crossing the River Thames in London, linking Bankside with the City of London. I affectionately call the Bridge, 'The wibbly-wobbly bridge', after somewhat embarrassing teething problems which had the old girl flexing in her moorings when first opened.

This view looks towards some of London's iconic buildings including the Walkie talkie and the Cheese grater.

I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to GETTY IMAGES, and the 32.472+ Million visitors to my FLICKR site.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Thirty metres at 10:04am on Thursday 23rd August 2018, off Quai d'Orsay on the River Seine, beside Pont Alexandre III bridge in Paris, France.

Pont Alexandre III is a nineteenth century deck arched bridge with Beaux arts style, named after a Russian Czar, which connects the Champs-Elysees quarter with the Invalides and Eiffel tower quarters. It is regarded as the most ornate of the bridges in Paris, work having commenced in October 1896 after tzar Alexander III had concluded the Franco-Russian alliance seven years earlier. Guilded bronze statues of Fames (sciences, commerce, arts and Charlemagne), restraining Pegasus stand on 17 metre high masonary socles with nymphs on the central arches.

This Thirteen seconds long exposure was taken at an altitude of Three metres at 06:07am on Friday 6th September 2019 around sunrise off Beacon Avenue beside the new bandstand in Beacon Park, on the promenade above the beach in Sidney by the sea on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

Totem poles are known as ᒥᐢᑎᑯᐦᑳᐣ mistikohkân in Cree and Gyáa'aang in Haida Gwaii, derived from the Algonquian word odoodem [oˈtuːtɛm] meaning "(his) kinship group". They are poles, posts and pillars often made from Western Red cedar wood into which are carved or hung symbols or figures, by Tlingit, Tsimshian, Kwakwaka'wakw and Nuu-chah-nulth and northern Northwest Coast Haida Gwaii First Nations and indigenous peoples.

The carvings commemorate cultural beliefs and ancestry, legends and events and are unique to each clan or group.

Here we look out towards Moresby Passage and Coal Island, Moresby Island and Portland Island.

'' The beauty of a sunrise and sunset demands nothing of us. Taking the time to view one requires little though ''

I wanted to do a short series of photographs that represent in different ways my most important and successful images from my time here on FLICKR and also with GETTY IMAGES, who are my worldwide agents. These photographs might be in the selections for a number of reasons, but each has played a significant part in my photographic journey and represent personal memories, some not having been seen for a while.

(14) DUSK OVER THE S SAANICH PENINSULA IN BC, CANADA

My first loves in photography have always been Landscapes, wildlife and the beauty of Mother Nature, and in the landscapes category, photographing in the magic of the Golden hour has always been a passion of mine. With the light constantly changing the discipline of quickly adapting your settings and fighting both time and the elements makes you work differently with a steep learning curve in which 'mess ups' are commonplace. But I truly believe not frame is a wasted frame and that we learn from our mistakes and constantly strive to push ourselves to be better.

On this occasion I was out in my Brother in law's Truck, on a sunrise shoot along the shoreline. It was so dark with just the merest hint of light coming in on the horizon and revealing the Southern Gulf Islands. I pulled in at a viewing point and set up my camera and tripod. I had my trusty Nikon D700, a fabulous camera that could resolve great low light detail in this case teamed up with one of Nikon's Holy trinity of lenses, the marvellous Nikon AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8G ED IF (pre-VR first model) which again could capture incredible low light details.

The scene was set as I tried to focus on the patch of light barely visible and wide open at f/2.8 I could manage a shutter speed of one fifth of a second. The image that came back on my screen was amazing, the Nikons had managed to 'see' a whole bunch of details that my eyes just could not. The light was changing quickly and just then a roaring thunderous Harley Davidson motorcycle pull in next to me with a rider who closely resembled Billy Gibbons of the band ZZ Top. As I fired off my last few shots, the two hundred and fifty pound, heavily tattooed and bearded rider grabbed a metal coffee mug from his panniers and came over and stood next to me. There was silence for a while and the smell of the coffee danced across the air, and he sighed and said quite simply in a satisfactorily deep, rumbling voice 'Beautiful isn't it'.

I agreed. More seconds passed and he remounted his iron horse, fired the beast into life and headed slowly down the road as the daylight broke.

Memories of moments a decade past that still live with me. I stood and watched the light come before packing up and driving home, buzzing with excitement, a love affair with my D700 blooming. Priceless. This is a personal favourite of mine and was published by Shutterstock and sold and also selected for Flickr Explore in February 2019, becoming my 117th photograph explored. A version of it was published by Getty Images in 2021 and has sold, it has also appeared online in various magazines.

(ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably).

With visits now in excess of 17.747 Million to my FLICKR site, used primarily these days as a fun platform to reach friends and family as I have now sold my professional gear and now take a more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to FLICKR, GETTY IMAGES and everyone who drops by.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Two metres, at 10:14am on Tuesday June 4th 2019, on a an overcast and drizzle filled morning off Birdcage Walk and Horse Guards Road in the grounds of St James's Park.

Situated in the City Of Westminster, the Park spans twenty three Hectares and is the oldest of the Royal Parks of London, with a variety of visiting and nesting birds that include Ducks, Canada Geese and Pelicans.

Here we see a beautiful Male Smew (Mergellus Albellus) relaxing beside the lake in St James's Park. Strangely this male is still in his winter plumage , and is the smallest of the sawbilled ducks. The smew is a species of duck, and is the only living member of the genus Mergellus

Photograph taken at an altitude of Thirty seven metres at 12:15pm on Wednesday 22nd August 2018, off Place Joffre and Avenue Emile Acollas, in the grounds of Champ de Mars, looking towards the Tour Eiffel located at Champ de Mars, 5 Avenue Anatole France, 75007 in Paris, France.

The Champ de Mars (Field of Mars), is a large park located in the Seventh arrondissement between the Eiffel Tower to the Northwest and Ecole Militaire to the Southeast. It was named after Campus Martius in Rome, Italy. It originally measured 42 hectares, but was reduced by architect Jeran-Camille Fromige for the 1890 World Exposition.

The Eiffel Tower was originally designed by Gustave Eiffel and constructed between 1887-1889 as the entrance to the worlds fair in that year. It is now the worlds most visited paid monument, standing 324 metres tall (1,063ft) with three floors and eight lifts and was the tallest building in the world from 1889 to 1930.
