This Thirty seconds long exposure was taken at 04.09am on a beautiful Springtime morning in the Golden hour around sunrise (Sunrise was at precisely 05.44am), at an altitude of Twenty seven metres on Friday 24th April 2020, off Bexley Lane and Rectory Lane within Foots Cray Meadows in Bexley, Kent.

  

After weeks of self isolation due to the global pandemic that we know as COVID-19 Coronavirus, we are allowed to go out for exercise once per day and keep away from others. A walk in the misty meadows today to taste the fresh air and get my limbs moving again.

Thanet offshore windfarm was officially opened on September 23rd 2010 and was for a time, the largest offshore windfarm project in the world. The eight lines of turbines, one hundred of them in total, run north-west to south-east, covering a total area of 35sq km off Foreness Point near Margate. Each turbine is 115 metres high with 44-metre blades, and the project cost between £780-900million

In the distance we see Mt Baker in Washington State, USA . Known to the Lummi First nation people ( Lhaq'temish) as Kwelshán ('Shooting place' in Nooksack), to the Halkomelem as Kwelxá:lxw, to Lushootseed speakers along the Skagit River as Teqwúbe7 “snow-capped peak'', to the Nooksack language as Kweq’ Smánit (“white mountain'') and also known as Koma Kulshan, (pronounced kō-ō’mah’ kool-shän’), the name for the Middle Fork which originates from the glaciers such as Deming and Thunder on the western slopes, she is an active glaciated andesitic stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc and the North Cascades of Washington State in the United States, standing 3,286 metres tall and was first ascended in 1868, her last eruption recorded in 1880.

  

The name Mount Baker first appeared in print in Captain Vancouver’s 1798 narrative of his voyage around Vancouver Island. Legend has it that his third-lieutenant, Joseph Baker, was the first to spot the mountain while they sailed into Dungeness Bay on April 30th, 1792.

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

    

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.

  

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as my trusted companion, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. Reynisfjara boasts several enormous basalt stacks and powerful, roaring waves off the Atlantic Ocean, and was voted as one of the top ten non-tropical beaches to visit on the planet by National Geographic. Thanet offshore windfarm was officially opened on September 23rd 2010 and was for a time, the largest offshore windfarm project in the world. The eight lines of turbines, one hundred of them in total, run north-west to south-east, covering a total area of 35sq km off Foreness Point near Margate. Each turbine is 115 metres high with 44-metre blades, and the project cost between £780-900million

The Bevan Avenue fishing pier is one of the main focal points in Sidney, and Work commenced on the pier in 1993 with Phase one, a 90 metre straight section being completed in 1996. A year later the 110 metre Phase two section was completed.

A rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. It takes the form of a multicoloured circular arc. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the sun.

This photograph was taken in the magic of The Golden Hour around Sunrise, (Sunrise was at precisely 07:39am), at an altitude of Three metres, at 07:44am on Thursday January 28th 2016 off Botany Road and Marine Drive, on the sandy shoreline of Botany Bay in Broadstairs, Kent, England.

  

I set off at 05:00am on a clear morning, the moon and the stars out to dazzle in temperatures around five degrees, on a pleasant hour and half long journey to enjoy a lovely sunrise. The seven bays in Broadstairs consist of: (From south to north) Dumpton Gap, Louisa Bay, Viking Bay, Stone Bay, Joss Bay, Kingsgate Bay and Botany Bay.

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

    

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably.

  

These days I take a far more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, a Nikon D850 FX Pro body as my trusted companion, I travel light with less constraints and more emphasis on the pure capture of the beauty that I see, more akin to my original persuits and goals some five decades previously when starting out. Photograph taken at an altitude of Fifty four metres at 07:30am on Thursday 9th July 2020, of a juvenile European robin (Erithacus rubecula), also known as the Robin, or Robin redbreast, a small insectivorous passerine bird, more specifically a Chat, off Chessington Avenue in Bexleyheath, Kent.

  

This is the sole baby of a pair of beautiful Robins who have been busy nesting and feeding from my garden and those around me for the last few months. The little baby has inherited his mothers looks and his fathers incredibly long legs!

  

Interestingly, Paul, the father was always singing his lungs out in the early days of nesting with Pat. He was territorial, and very vocal. Then things stopped when Pat appeared to be on the nest more, and Paul just stopped singing... not a peep from him other than warning calls if my cat Tom was anywhere in the garden. And now with the baby being protected by the parents, and brought to my bird feeders and birdhouse, Paul still remains silent.

This photograph was taken in the magic of The Golden Hour around Sunrise (Sunrise was at precisely 07:56am), at an altitude of Seventeen metres, at 08:10am on Sunday January 11th 2015 off Botany Road and Marine Drive, on the sandy shoreline of Botany Bay in Broadstairs, Kent, England.

  

I set off at 05:30am on a very chilly morning, around two degrees, and a bracing wind that pounded flesh and bones, but well worth the one and a half hour journey there to enjoy a lovely sunrise. The seven bays in Broadstairs consist of: (From south to north) Dumpton Gap, Louisa Bay, Viking Bay, Stone Bay, Joss Bay, Kingsgate Bay and Botany Bay.

This was a wonderous location, out in the wilderness, Sparwood is the second largest community on the Elk River, located around thirty kilometres from Fernie, with an area of over 1771 square kms and incorporating local coal mines. We took a breakl here in an open field for a picnic of produce gathered from a local store, and enjoyed the company of a herd of wild deer that ran and changed direction at will, like a scene from Jurassic Park.

Photograph taken at 10:27am at an altitude of one hundred and thirty six metres on Thursday 12th September 2013 on the shoreline of Loch Voil, a small freshwater loch approximately 5 km (3½ miles) in length. and separated from Loch doine by the River Larig. and is drained at its northern end by the River Balvaig at Balquhidder.

  

This view was taken ahead of the old stone bridge in the centre of Balquhidder, a small village in the Stirling Council area of Scotland It is overlooked by the dramatic mountain terrain of the Braeds of Balquhidder. Rob Roy is allegedly buried in the cemetary a few hundred yards from this beautiful location.

And a true story: I met up with the owner of this beautiful yacht some eight years later on a stay in Pender Island, British Columbia, where we met by chance after he commented on the beauty of my Nikon D850. Situated in the City Of Westminster, the Park spans twenty three Hectares and is the oldest of the Royal Parks of London, with a variety of visiting and nesting birds that include Ducks, Canada Geese and Pelicans.

  

Here we see a beautiful Male Smew (Mergellus Albellus) relaxing beside the lake in St James's Park. Strangely this male is still in his winter plumage , and is the smallest of the sawbilled ducks. The smew is a species of duck, and is the only living member of the genus Mergellus

The beautiful flowering yellow tree that almost looks to be dancing in yellow is, 'Glenditsia Triacanthos' - 'Sunburst' , or Golden Honey locust tree. It is a deciduous tree in the family Fabaceae, native to central North America where it is mostly found in the moist soil of river valleys.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Six metres, at 13:00pm on Monday 20th January 2020, on a beautifully sunny afternoon off Birdcage Walk and Horse Guards Road in the grounds of St James's Park. Situated in the City Of Westminster, the Park spans twenty three Hectares and is the oldest of the Royal Parks of London, with a variety of visiting and nesting birds that include Ducks, Canada Geese and Pelicans.

  

Here we see, Sciurus Carolinensis (Eastern Gray Squirrel or Grey Squirrel), a tree squirrel native to North America and first introduced to the UK in the 1870's. Though it was largely resonsible for the decimation of our own native red squirrel population, those are now on the increase and found in certain parts of the UK including Scotland. The Greys are still an ecologically essential natural forester regenerator.

Here we look over part of Paris including Champ de Mars, 5 Avenue Anatole France, 75007 in Paris, France.

  

The Champ de Mars (Field of Mars), is a large park located in the Seventh arrondissement between the Eiffel Tower to the Northwest and Ecole Militaire to the Southeast. It was named after Campus Martius in Rome, Italy. It originally measured 42 hectares, but was reduced by architect Jeran-Camille Fromige for the 1890 World Exposition.

On the far left top corner we also see Musee de L'armee and Napoleon's Tomb beneath the golden dome.

  

The Eiffel Tower was originally designed by Gustave Eiffel and constructed between 1887-1889 as the entrance to the worlds fair in that year. It is now the worlds most visited paid monument, standing 324 metres tall (1,063ft) with three floors and eight lifts and was the tallest building in the world from 1889 to 1930.

The house sparrow is found in most parts of the world and differs from it's close relative the Tree sparrow, the male having a grey head, black beak and darker colouration than the female who has a brown head, yellow beak and eye stripe.

Ben Nevis (Beinn Nibheis), the highest mountain in the British Isles, standing Thirteen hundred and forty four metres tall (4,409ft) above sea level and situated on the Grampian Mountains in the Lochbar area of the Scottish Highlands, near the town of Fort William.

  

The Gaelic translation of Ben Nevis is 'Venomous mountain' or 'mountain with its head in the clouds', and she was first ascended on August 17th 1771 by James Robertson. Ben Nevis forms a massif with Northeast neighbour Carn Mor Dearg, Aanach Beaf and Aonach Mor.

Hiœwe¬uqw translates as Fair wind, a breeze along the water in Hu¬œumí!uµ First Nations languages spoken by various First Nations peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast. It is spoken in what is now British Columbia, Canada.

  

This Thirty seconds long exposure was taken at an altitude of One metres, in the golden hour around sunrise at 06:21am on Tuesday 24th September 2019 around sunrise off 1st Street and Bevan Avenue, between the boat jetty and Bevan Avenue Fishing Pier in beautiful Sidney by the sea on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

  

The Bevan Avenue fishing pier is one of the main focal points in Sidney, and Work commenced on the pier in 1993 with Phase one, a 90 metre straight section being completed in 1996. A year later the 110 metre Phase two section was completed.
