A USB flash drive (also thumb drive, memory stick and pen drive) is a data storage device that contains flash memory with an integrated USB interface. A USB drive is removable, rewritable, and smaller than an optical drive, usually less than 30 g (1 oz). Since USB drives first went on sale in late 2000, USB drive storage capacities have grown from 8 to 256 gigabytes (GB). As of 2023, 2TB flash drives will be the largest currently in production

This is a USB wire and plug charging a cell phone.
The photo is a composite of 14 stacked raw images. The light source was a ring light. The ISO was kept at the camera's base of 200 to minimize any noise.
The camera was mounted on a tripod and each focus point was electronically made using the center weighted focus option. Therefore, the camera did not have to be moved and the focus ring was not touched.

Perhaps Andrew S. Tanenbaum was prescient on the eventual state of USB when he said "The nice thing about standards is that you have so many to choose from."
Shown are five of the more common plug styles but even those can have variants for USB 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 and counting.
Strobist setup One 430EX at 1/16th power from behind the subject through a white diffuse plastic sheet, another 430EX at 1/8th power from the front/right through another white plastic sheet. One white piece of paper to the right as reflector. The flashes were triggered with the manual wireless mode of the 580EX II that did not contribute to the lighting.
