This head was part of a statue that was most likely placed in a temple to allow its owner to participate in the rituals for the gods and the king. The name of the man is lost, but his shaven head suggests that he was a priest.

A priest and two attendants perform ceremonies for the deceased. Originally, there probably existed (to the left) certain offerings. It is an exact copy of a scene in the Temple of Deir el Bahari made some seven centuries earlier where the figures are reversed.
