My mum is in a nursing home now so I made a start on clearing her place. I was feeling glum after sorting so many of her memories that she doesn't remember any more. As I left I looked up and there was this beautiful, vibrant rainbow which lifted my spirits but my thoughts went to the people in Gaza who are seeing nothing but smoke.

Well...We ALL need cheering up, don't we ?

The sun slowly sets in a park in vienna, painting the sky with hues of purple and orange. The trees sway gently in the breeze, casting long shadows on the grass. Birds chirp in the distance as the sun disappears behind the horizon, leaving behind a breathtaking view of Vienna's skyline.

This holiday season may be difficult for some people, so find them and uplift them. Share happiness and be a blessing.

And a special thank you to Greg for always lifting me up. You're the best!

Afternoon light on and along the Chicago River.

Here, west is actually behind me and a small sliver of sun somehow filtered through, while light reflected from the glass and steel all around glows up the whole space.

Its just a matter of finding a few interesting spots and seeing what lines up.

Imagine you're alone on a tiny wooden boat with a view like this in front of you, just going about your own daily business, no desk, no computer, no door, no clock, just nature's embrace and an elevated spirit that could probably surpass that of the wealthiest person on the face of the earth. Is it any wonder that many of us romanticize and long for a less complicated life sometimes...*SIGH*

Thank you for floating by :)

the hotel....

Do you ever take a picture, and revisited the same place 12 years later thinking, OMG this place has never changed..

This is what happened this week. Still the same decor... Sadly still not dressed this year....

Ho hum...😫😫

Now Sienna, sit straight, look dignified and we will begin!

My favorite "sunrise in paradise" location on Key West. These palms are featured on Jimmy Buffett's A1A album, and the back cover is about 50 yards north of here. While he lived here this was a favorite spot of his and he wrote a few songs here. Have been attempting to get the best shot of these palms for many years. I'M STILL TRYING!

My Key West 2020 Slideshow : flic.kr/s/aHsmTvNLb4

Excerpt from The Toronto Star, September 10, 2022:

Park Lawn Underpass Mural 2016 by Cindy Scaife: “I wanted to keep it upbeat and joyful because traditionally underpasses are dimly lit spots and also very often neglected. I wanted to give something to the community that was uplifting, and that resonates with the history of the surrounding area. The big strawberry is a nod to the food terminal, which is nearby. Doing my research, I also found there used to be strawberry fields around the area that were quite plentiful.

I remember from my childhood, when my family went to Exhibition Place, you could see the Seahorse Motel from the highway. I always liked that kind of vintage sign, so I wanted to include it.

A really cool thing that resulted from working on the mural is that one day, a woman stopped her car, got out and started talking to me. She was very excited. She told me her parents owned that motel, and she grew up there. So, the mural meant a lot to them because the motel was no longer there. When the mural was unveiled, the woman addressed the crowd and talked about the history of the motel. That was lovely.”

This is for being such a nice person!!! And for hooking me up with that script!! I cleaned housed yesterday and, thanks to you, can now identify all those textures I use! Thank you soooo much! If you weren't so far away I'd have you fix my BAD haircut!
