Even though it often feels wrong or unimportant, it’s ok to pause, to inhale and exhale a little more slowly and deeply, to truly see and take note of your surroundings, finding beauty and peace in the details of God’s creation around you. Your circumstances are incredibly challenging and you are worthy of taking these moments to care for yourself. Only then, after tending to your own needs, will you be able to care for others in a healthy way.

A few days ago I was struggling a lot with my own intense mental health struggles in addition to the stress and fear of my husband’s health struggles and recent hospitalization. Somehow I found the strength to spend some time outside capturing the beauty I saw in the fog and frost that was visible through the windows that morning—it seemed to tell an important, uplifting story that helped me continue pressing on.
by the wind. I loved the way the wind blew the sand into these tiny mountains and raised the shells and pebbles to rest on top.
Early in 1914, moreover, we realized that it would be impossible to free the Saint Anna from the ice; at best, we would drift until the autumn of 1915, more than three years after we had departed Alexandrovsk.* If we stayed on board, starvation would become a real threat by January 1915, if not sooner. In the darkness of the long polar night, a struggle against hunger carries no hope of salvation. During this season, hunting is out of the question, as all animals are in hibernation. The only certainty for those trapped in its realm is that "white death" lies in wait for them.

The crossing tower of St Davids Cathedral seen from directly below - almost. A cliched angel perhaps, but I couldn't help myself. i am a sucker for polychrome paintwork and a cheeky bit of gilding

The Grey Shrike-thrush is one of my favourite birds. Whilst being a lot less colourful than some, they have the most beautiful and uplifting song I think and are little characters. This one was photographed yesterday at Woodlands on a lovely little walk with Adrienne who spotted him almost as she got out of the car.
Whenever I see one I am always reminded of one of my favourite Michael Leunig cartoons.

Shore Acres State Park is south of Coos Bay on the Oregon coast. It features 5 acres of formal gardens including a rose-testing plot and Japanese lily pond, as well as ocean views and beach access. In the cooler months, visitors can watch storms and migrating whales from the park's sandstone cliffs. Another seasonal attraction is the Shore Acres Holiday Lights, lasting from Thanksgiving to New Year's Eve, when the gardens are decorated with lights and illuminated sculptures. Shore Acres was originally an estate owned by Louis J. Simpson, a Coos County timber baron and son of shipping magnate Asa Meade Simpson. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shore_Acres_State_Park
This coastal rock is a short walk from the garden. It shows some major past movement of the layered rock.

An aerial view of Hill Country along the Willow City Loop in Gillespie County, about 85 west of Austin. Some of the oldest rocks in Texas, both Cambrian and Precambrian formations with some dating back 1.3 billion years, can be found in the region known as the Llano Uplift.
This area can be seen along the Willow City Loop, a scenic 13-mile road through privately owned land with some of central Texas's oldest and most unique geology. The views of the hills, valleys, creeks, and flower field meadows—particularly in the spring—are quite beautiful. While we visit this area in the spring and fall of every year, this is the first time I've flown over it with a drone. efault
For 121 Pictures in 2021 #105 "Uplifting". Pretend this is not a Black Vulture looking for something dead, and focus on the joy of soaring high above the earth.Taken from the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding center in the Port Aransas nature Preserve.
Beautiful pink dogwood blooms. We have had a marvelous spring, with so many blooming plants lasting much longer than we typically enjoy in Cincinnati.

Strong windgusts create blowing snow at sharp mountain edges, glowing in the backlight, near Myre on Norway's VesterĂ¥len islands. The same wind is used by a white-tailed eagle to climb higher and higher.
