Loneliness was both a burden and a blessing, and above all indispensable for achieving a kind of stillness in which perplexities could be faced without fear? Three events changed my attitude. One was the countless onslaughts upon my inner life, depriving me of the ability to sustain inner stillness. The second event was the discovery that indifference to evil is worse than evil itself. Even the high worth of reflection in the cultivation of inner truth cannot justify remaining calm in the face of cruelties that make the hope of effectiveness of pure intellectual endeavors seem grotesque. Isolationism is frequently an unconscious pretext for carelessness, whether among statesmen or among scholars.

road to the unconscious

This photo reminds me of those of Funny Fish, Siebbi and .zack! I guess that looking at their work on flickr has unconsciously entered my mind!

Judging without checking the facts may have the pompeous term "Unconscious Bias" but it's also called stupidity. Throwing a stone and then hide in the anonymous crowd can be an act of resistence, but when you throw it to an innocent without giving him the opportunity to defend himself, then it is an indication of cowardice. And being around after your crime and feel joy when you see him bleeding ,then it is an indication of profound evil. Believing that you are the keeper of the morals while you are actually deep in the mud it's an indication of arrogant hypocrisy and

unwarranted pride , also known as hubris and this seems to be the

worst sin of all . This is what makes the crucifixion to be in vain. Being an ignorant will not serve as an excuse on the judgment day . But in the end ,the wheat will be separated from the chaff and everybody will take what he deserves. "You reap what you sow ,sow the wind, reap the whirlwind "

Challenge #184

When Traci rang the doorbell holding onto an almost unconscious Cannon, I was alarmed and worried. I said, "What's going on, Traci?" Turns out Cannon was still groggy with anesthesia after having his wisdom teeth surgically removed. The surgeon gave instructions of how to take care of him. He was loopy for a while but then started to come out of it. These are the "Unexpected Moments" I'm not crazy about. Was nice to have his mother around to take care of him!

The mystique of the red rose has been a source of immeasurable inspiration for many throughout the ages. However, it is as the symbol for love that the red rose is most commonly recognized.

The dreams, hallucinations, visions and nightmares. Unconscious creative impulses. Shadowy scenes and obscure figures awaken our imagination while cryptic symbols and surreal juxtapositions suggest meanings hidden from the view. At the crossroads of day & night, conscious & unconscious.

In this life, Great expectations are overrated

Quality of things are unconsciously gauged

Splendor of words are irrevocably posted

Majestic dreams are incoherently promoted

But when turbulence do sets in, does one really

Ponder about the usual pros and cons

Do we need a human barometer for us to Set the rules, give demarcations, and delineate walls

When love and hate equates

When darkness meets light

When passion and pain coincides

When silence corrodes noise

That’s when we find solitude and peace

Countdown to Halloween

Radio Static.

Captain Estubing lies unconscious from falling at the wheel when the boat took a sudden turn.

Waters splash against Shrimp Boat now aground just a few hundred feet from the lighthouse. A board creaks on the stern of the boat as a ghostly figure with sword raised approaches the cargo hold. He sees one of the two pieces of cargo that he was told to get. But he sees some men carrying flashlights coming towards him. He calculates his time, decides one crate is better than none, and dashes overboard with the cargo. He will have to make a return to get the other one later.

“The boat’s over here!”

“I see it. Quick, radio for more help!”

Sometimes you just have to go old school. I can sit and write on paper endlessly. Unconscious journaling. I never knew there was a name for it.

Barry picked up Zoom's unconscious body and returned him to the 25th Century.

“You know Thawne,” Barry spoke, almost to himself “You can't have a world where only The Reverse Flash exists. If I wasn't around you'd be the opposite of nothing. I probably wouldn't be the hero I am today if it wasn't for people like you. I wouldn't be able to push myself, to drive myself, to be the best Flash that I can be. Despite our differences, you've taught me so much.... Thanks to you, I'm the fastest man alive....”

There we go, one of the biggest stories I've done since last year's Flashpoint Series has come to a close! Thanks for keeping up with all of The Rouges in 2015, it's been really fun to shoot and upload all these different stories, and it always feels good to know that you guys on flickr enjoy the work that I do. :)

The Survivors RPG Mission 3 Return to Coruscant Phase 3 Cleaning Out the Underworld (phew)

Ordin Voss

Date: Before the mission on Mimban, the mission on the ISS Chimaera, and the mission on Felucia

Recap: Ordin and his fellow Survivors led by Zaryya distributed supplies to the poor of Coruscant during the aftermath of the Coruscant riots. They then led an attack on a criminal gang in the Coruscant waterways in order to repair them, but Jax, another leader of a Survivor group, was captured.

///LOG ENTRY\\\

Important update; Our intel has tracked the gang’s base of operations to this shady section of the Coruscant Underground. They have been supplying the Empire with many resources, and if they can continue, then the Imperials may be able to recover, and regain control over this area of Coruscant. On top of this, we have gotten info that the gang will be transporting Jax to an off-world Imperial holding cell from a landing pad in the Coruscant Underground. Zaryya, another Survivor, and I will attack once the gang gets to the launchpad- but this will be no easy mission.

The other Survivors and I get into Zaryya’s airspeeder, and we descend into the Underground. “Let’s blow those idiots to pieces,” says one of the Survivors, called Rhysio- the explosives specialist. The plan is to set up explosives before the gang arrives, rescue Jax, and escape; then blow up the landing pad, killing the gang members. Zaryya lands the airspeeder close to the pad, but far away enough that we won’t be noticed.

The Underground is very lively today, with many beings shoving their way through the streets, and shady figures darting about. Advertisements of all sorts light up the streets, though they are also very good at burning your eyes. We manage to make it to the building in time, and we climb up the side of it. Rhysio does his thing, hiding the detonators around where the gang members should be soon, and I wait on the other side of the landing pad, somewhat anxiously. It’s hard to tell what’s about to happen.

Rhysio finishes up, and we hide alongside the doors to the roof. Eventually they slide open, and the crime family emerges, with Jax in handcuffs. They are a pale-skinned humanoid species, and they all look angry. I recognize Ponytail 1 and 2 from the waterways. The leader is there too, as well as a female member I haven’t seen before. These guys aren’t so funny.

On cue, we jump out with weapons outstretched, catching the criminals by surprise. Ponytail 1 and 2 pull out electrifying weapons, but when they realize they are surrounded and at gunpoint, they drop them. The leader curses. “I see you want what you’ve come for!” he cries, and beckons towards Jax. Now that I’ve gotten a better look at Jax, something is off. “Bring him to us, and we won’t shoot!” Zaryya shouts back, and she raises her blaster to the leader’s head.

Ponytail 1 shoves Jax forward, and he moves behind us. “There. Now leave us alone, we have real business to get to. Don’t mess with us, or you’ll be sorry.” Ponytail 2 hisses. For being held at gunpoint by their enemies, the gang seems strangely calm. I realize that Jax’s handcuffs aren’t even activated. Suddenly, he pulls out 2 pistols and points them at Zaryya and I, breathing heavily with a crazed look on his face. The leader grins.

“Now I will have to ask you to lower your weapons,” he says, and cackles. He gestures to the female gang member. “Ekersa has made sure that your friend’s mind is broken. He’ll do anything we say.” Ponytail 1 and 2 pull out their weapons again, ready to end us. “Jax,” Ekersa says, “Kill the Survivors.”

Thinking quickly, I kick one of the pistols out of Jax’s hand. It goes off and grazes my arm, but it’s not a dangerous burn. Before he can fire the other one, I knock him to the ground, rendering him unconscious. The gang rushes towards us, and Rhysio calls out to jump off the roof, into some cables below. Zaryya and I grab Jax, and together we all jump off the roof, crashing into a net of cables. The explosives go off, and the landing pad is blasted into rubble. The gang is no more.

-------------------------------------------

The Aftermath

-------------------------------------------

I’m glad we were able to have success in this Mission. With the gang defeated, the Imperials of our entire sector in Coruscant have fled after losing their suppliers. Jax has recovered, and it seems that the gang was able to grow powerful by controlling minds- though we’re still not sure how. Anyways, many of the other Survivor groups are leaving Coruscant. I think that I’m ready to leave the planet, and see the rest of the galaxy…

This is one of my favorite RPG builds so far, I had a lot of fun adding color and detail everywhere. This was also the first time that I used more than one light color. Thanks for viewing!

good morning, herr doktor.

just in time, my boy. look at this.

what is it?

using complicated instruments and simple statistics, I can measure meaningful brain activity anywhere — even in a dead salmon!

really?

I call it the 'stream of unconsciousness' equation. clever, eh?

a dead salmon has meaningful brain activity?

you'd be surprised! why, compared to our president, it's more than a stream; it's a mighty torrent!

that's kind of depressing.

yes, I thought so too, actually.

'If we go down the rabbit hole of our unconsciousness and try to unravel the knotty points of our life story we may encounter a bunch of hidden niceties or emotional stowaways. Forgotten details in the windmill of our mind may daintily reveal, where things might have gone wrong. (“I wonder what went wrong.”)'
