"The contemplative journey, because it involves the purification of the unconscious, is not a magic carpet to bliss. It is an exercise of letting go of the false self, a humbling process, because it is the only self we know. God approaches us from many different perspectives: illness, misfortune, bankruptcy, divorce proceedings, rejection, inner trials. God has not promised to take away our trial, but to help us to change our attitudes toward them. That is what holiness really is. In this life, happiness is rooted in our basic attitude toward reality."
- Thomas Keating, The Human Condition: Contemplation and Transformation
she walks through the world wearing sunshine, unconscious of how she transforms every ordinary corner into something worth remembering. the market calls to her in whispers of fresh bread and coffee, but she moves like someone who has learned that the best discoveries happen when you're not actively searching. her yellow coat becomes a beacon in the urban landscape, proof that sometimes the most radical act is simply choosing brightness in a world that often forgets to smile.
Like, you take your camera and involuntarily snap a photo. And, then, there is something strange in it that you like. Your sub-conscious is saying something?
New year - new me stuff that malarkey 😁
It's taken me 47 years to actually pick who I am apart.
I think we unconsciously take on our parents, ancestors, the community and times we live in; measuring other's, their apparent achievements successes at career, family life, a yard stick but to whose measurements...why those particular measurements, who decided?
maybe we decided - judging our own 'failures', 'mistakes' and general f-ups maybe if we stopped trying to just be what we think we need to be and were actually us. If maybe it all just is? we have good bits we have not so good bits, we have good times, we have bad times , the mistakes don't define us unless we dicks enough to allow them??
Alice ....the white rabbit was right....you have to really love yourself first.....and a good first step is to be loving with yourself ♥
So I don't want a new me, I am not my past, I am in charge of my peace and what makes me happy and fulfilled - I'm working with what I've got....building stability for my family in a way that's right for us with love.
I'm in the mid stages of developing a Social Enterprise based in North Wales - using photography for positive mental health and wellbeing not just on an individual level but also for the benefit of the local communities. To empower minority cohorts to develop agency through photography along with the positive impacts to their MH.
To help support other's growth.
At 27 I found myself in a bad situation....thinking it was too late for myself, I'd made my bed I would have to lie in it, no one else would love me this was it a pretty numb life
Yesterday doesn't matter,
It doesn't matter if you're 27, 47, 97, be you, do what makes you happy own you're all with pride♥
So if anyones not too bad at accounts, IT and all the awful admin stuff.....employee benefits; office in the countryside, I've got a proper proper coffee maker too 😁♀️

Before you slip into unconsciousness
I'd like to have another kiss
Another flashing chance at bliss
Another kiss, another kiss
The days are bright and filled with pain
Enclose me in your gentle rain
The time you ran was too insane
We'll meet again, we'll meet again
Oh tell me where your freedom lies
The streets are fields that never die
Deliver me from reasons why
You'd rather cry, I'd rather fly
The crystal ship is being filled
A thousand girls, a thousand thrills
A million ways to spend your time
When we get back, I'll drop a line

Water, in the dreamer's language, means unconscious.
I invite you to dive into the unconscious of the dreamers,
and let yourself combortably numb inside this unreal atmosphere.
Every saturday I'll be entering into this world and taking one new photography to my new serie "Golden Slumbers". And you can see it here.

After yesterday's failed attempt, I tried again, and today I went in prepared with exactly what I wanted to shoot. I still had a different idea, but I like how this turned out. Sometimes these things take a life of their own, maybe for a reason, maybe by chance, but nevertheless...
Almost 1 month of 365...
“In the products of the unconscious we discover mandala symbols, that is, circular and quaternary figures which express wholeness, and whenever we wish to express wholeness, we employ just such figures. ”

You usually find this beautiful but elusive bird in the forest, where the light is not great. I have been trying to get a decent photo for a long time. A few weeks ago, while working on the computer, a big bang came from the backyard. I rushed to the garden door and saw a varied thrush unconscious on the ground. I brought it inside and tried to revive it. I made a call to the BC SPCA Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre (Wild ARC). They accepted the bird in their shelter, even though it was the weekend. I stayed in touch with Wild Arc to see how the bird was doing. I was happy to find out that the bird was recovering very well. Because Wild Arc likes to release birds where they were found, I was able to pick up the bird and release it in my backyard. When I opened to box, the bird flew up right away and I never got a chance to take a photo of it. This being said, I continue from time to time to have varied thrush visit our yard and I like to think that one of the visitors is the bird that was rescued. I was great to be able to count on Wild Arc whose existence is based on public donations.
If you live in BC and you are thinking about making a Christmas gift to the wildlife, you may want to consider this organization.

Another one of my preferred wildlife organizations in BC is Rocky Point Bird Observatory (RPBO). Here is a link to RPBO who could not exist without generous donations from the public.
PS To all my Flickr friends and followers, who were thinking about giving me a Christmas Gift, I would rather prefer that you support one of these two organizations ... I already feel spoiled with all the support and encouragement you give me on Flickr. :-)

Loosely inspired by the art of Hans Ruedi Giger, this digital creation shows me the disturbing fish that lurks in my unconscious, or aquatic sub-conscious, and emerges when I lose control. Or perhaps it emerges when I control myself: I'm not sure about this: as I know nothing about the disturbing fish, I seem to be such a banal and predictable person!
