Refrain from staring for too long, for something within you will inevitably commence an unconscious search for meaning.

Challenge #184

When Traci rang the doorbell holding onto an almost unconscious Cannon, I was alarmed and worried. I said, "What's going on, Traci?" Turns out Cannon was still groggy with anesthesia after having his wisdom teeth surgically removed. The surgeon gave instructions of how to take care of him. He was loopy for a while but then started to come out of it. These are the "Unexpected Moments" I'm not crazy about. Was nice to have his mother around to take care of him!

The mystique of the red rose has been a source of immeasurable inspiration for many throughout the ages. However, it is as the symbol for love that the red rose is most commonly recognized.

The dreams, hallucinations, visions and nightmares. Unconscious creative impulses. Shadowy scenes and obscure figures awaken our imagination while cryptic symbols and surreal juxtapositions suggest meanings hidden from the view. At the crossroads of day & night, conscious & unconscious.

If you know what i mean. lol. I think this image reflect my unconsciousness that really want fish eye lens but cant afford it.

Another gorgeous Amanita fruiting in a pine grove near a small bog. These are so irresistible, but this one had an especially pleasing cap - like an umbrella in an Edward Gorey drawing.

In this life, Great expectations are overrated

Quality of things are unconsciously gauged

Splendor of words are irrevocably posted

Majestic dreams are incoherently promoted

But when turbulence do sets in, does one really

Ponder about the usual pros and cons

Do we need a human barometer for us to Set the rules, give demarcations, and delineate walls

When love and hate equates

When darkness meets light

When passion and pain coincides

When silence corrodes noise

That’s when we find solitude and peace

Are the things that are not....

"My brain played tag with the unconscious

and one day they finally collided.

I realized reality was actually only tangible,

and the only thing that was real....

were the things that were not.

I had to be convinced the story was in fact fictional,

so in return I could realize I was the one that wrote it.

Time is only moving forward because of the thoughts that drive it.

I hear the hours of time like you hear the music on the radio.

I hear god and myself in the music because I became aware of my existance.

I became aware because of the conversations I had with myself when my eyes divided dimensions.

I see because I always have,

I hear because I can relate with the stories being told."

Countdown to Halloween

Radio Static.

Captain Estubing lies unconscious from falling at the wheel when the boat took a sudden turn.

Waters splash against Shrimp Boat now aground just a few hundred feet from the lighthouse. A board creaks on the stern of the boat as a ghostly figure with sword raised approaches the cargo hold. He sees one of the two pieces of cargo that he was told to get. But he sees some men carrying flashlights coming towards him. He calculates his time, decides one crate is better than none, and dashes overboard with the cargo. He will have to make a return to get the other one later.

“The boat’s over here!”

“I see it. Quick, radio for more help!”

Sometimes you just have to go old school. I can sit and write on paper endlessly. Unconscious journaling. I never knew there was a name for it.

I believe that there is a subtle magnetism in Nature, which,

if we unconsciously yield to it, will direct us aright.

Pouring down rain today, so back to the archives. Found this back lit yellow swallowtail butterfly feeding high on a gigantic butterfly bush. The bush was standing 20 feet in the air.

Added skeletal mess texture Square-9.

Amnesia depicts an oblivious slide into national socialism, populism and fascism . The orange symbol denotes the forming of a sign seared into the subconscious of a generation given life by the sacrifice of a society faced with annihilation. They chose heroism and their stories will never be forgotten.

good morning, herr doktor.

just in time, my boy. look at this.

what is it?

using complicated instruments and simple statistics, I can measure meaningful brain activity anywhere — even in a dead salmon!

really?

I call it the 'stream of unconsciousness' equation. clever, eh?

a dead salmon has meaningful brain activity?

you'd be surprised! why, compared to our president, it's more than a stream; it's a mighty torrent!

that's kind of depressing.

yes, I thought so too, actually.

'If we go down the rabbit hole of our unconsciousness and try to unravel the knotty points of our life story we may encounter a bunch of hidden niceties or emotional stowaways. Forgotten details in the windmill of our mind may daintily reveal, where things might have gone wrong. (“I wonder what went wrong.”)'

rural writings/scritture rurali - unconscious land art

"The unconscious mind might be defined as that part of the mind which gives rise to a collection of mental phenomena that manifest in a person's mind but which the person is not aware of at the time of their occurrence. These phenomena include unconscious feelings, unconscious or automatic skills, unnoticed perceptions, unconscious thoughts, unconscious habits and automatic reactions, complexes, hidden phobias and concealed desires.

The unconscious mind can be seen as the source of night dreams and automatic thoughts (those that appear without apparent cause); the repository of memories that have been forgotten but that may nevertheless be accessible to consciousness at some later time; and the locus of implicit knowledge, i.e. all the things that we have learned so well that we do them without thinking. One familiar example of the operation of the unconscious is the phenomenon where one fails to immediately solve a given problem and then suddenly has a flash of insight that provides a solution maybe days later at some odd moment during the day."

Gift for a friend -

For I am with you even in the endless dark:

For there the crown of wisdom burns eternal gold:

For though it is hidden it can never be lost:

For it is a seal set upon the human heart.

Sometimes a photograph offers the photographer a gift he didn't expect, a marvelous detail - what the eye longing for meaning sees unconsciously, and includes. How wonderful it is that the decision to take a photograph is mysterious - giving us, like love, more than we bargained for.

THANK YOU ALL MY KIND FLICKR FRIENDS.

YOUR FAVS, COMMENTS AND INVITATIONS ARE VERY MOTIVATING AND APPRECIATED.

Unconsciously chose another shot from a day when it was a bit too hot to actually be shooting. It's taken me a long time to learn that when the mercury shoots up...probably better if I postpone, even if it means the shoot may never happen...which I'm pretty sure is happening with the two shoots I canceled this weekend, haven't heard back from either of the subjects...

But that heat, I start sweating and all I want to do is rush through the shoot, I'm focused on my own discomfort, rather than finding the right shots. I've got the patter on autopilot as my shirt sticks to my back, my hands get hot, my feet get heavy, my energy starts to flag. I do not do well with weather.

Even my phone starts freaking out, it gets hot enough. Everything starts freaking out, it gets hot enough, why should I be any different!

There will be challenges to every shoot, sure sure, but at a certain point, it's just masochism, and that's not my scene...for the most part.
