Who can explain the secret pathos of Nature's loveliness? It is a touch of melancholy inherited from our mother Eve. It is an unconscious memory of the lost Paradise. It is the sense that even if we should find another Eden, we would not be fit to enjoy it perfectly nor stay in it forever. Henry Van Dyke

A paradox illusion.

An involuntary, pre-rational and reflex-like mechanism which is part of the formation of visual impressions.

It is.. and then.. it is not.

On my tour to three rock cities in the Czech Republic (I could well imagine there are more), I unconsciously chose exactly the right order.

I started at the one that impressed me the least, which, of course, can only be seen in the relationship between the three places. I was absolutely impressed by Hrubá Skála (which you could probably see in my pictures). I then moved on to the place that literally blew my socks off.

Today we're moving on together to the middle candidate, Prachovské skály, the Prachov Rocks.

As you can see from the photo, the dimensions of this rocky landscape are considerably more extensive. And this is just one of maybe seven or eight viewpoints you pass on a walking tour. And each one has a different face.

Here, however, you'll only get to know two of them. Since I can't be in several places at once (no, unfortunately I still can't) and the window of good light isn't particularly long, I had to make a decision (which wasn't easy).

In reference to the archetypes created by Jung. These archetypes, which are primitive symbols belonging to the collective unconscious, which is the sum of the personal unconscious, are present everywhere. There are 12 different archetypes: the wise; the innocent; the Explorer; the dominant; the creator; Guardian Angel; the magician; the hero; the outlaw; the lover; the fool; the orphan.

about 4 weeks ago, I had a dream that I was on a beach, that I had created a protective salt circle and was preparing to stand in the middle of it and create a self-portrait. this past week, while we were in Brittany, I had the chance to make the photo that I had actually dreamed about. it's always a gift when the unconscious speaks to us so loudly and clearly. in a world that doesn't always feel so safe, we all need to feel protected. the idea that the salt that protects me here came from the sea, whose tides were constantly lapping the shore behind me, seemed so poetic. eventually the sea will reclaim the salt. everything comes full circle in the end.

This man was just standing there checking the art on the wall and all of a sudden, when I looked back, I realized he had "mimicked" the sculpture. I think humans are natural chameleons, always trying to blend unconsciously with what/who we have around.

This is two of my dearest friends Todd my tech adviser who helped me with constructing a 21st-Century Digital Public Art viewing space and Tamara who was very helpful in me meeting Todd and other cool folks n myself.

I had my 1st Exhibition from Aug. 16, 2018, to Sept. 16th 2018

at the Tulip Building-Bottle Works Arts on 3rd. Ave.

It was a historic event in that it was the very first all computer n math-based Art Exhibition in our local Art Community.

The title of my show was

' A 21st Century Paradigm Shift

The Emerging Modalities of the New Media Art World'.

the paradigm shift was that there were no ancient analog works--only modern computer-based digital works.

da emerging modalities was the evolutionary and revolutionary nu technology that allows me to animate a static still photo into an animation.

I had 29 digital prints hanging and 40 of my animated still photos running on 3 computers and monitors and one projector projecting a 10' x 10' image of my animations. We had to convert an analogue 20th-Century public Art viewing space into a modern and contemporary 21st-Century Digital public Art viewing space.

I was invited 2 days ago to show my next exhibition at the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at their Altoona. Pa, site next April 15, 2020, until October 15, 2020,

I learned a lot about making the transition from a private underground net presence to a public showing.

here is a link to my friend Marian Facebook site where she posted a few snaps of my show.

I can't create an album containing my prints from the show because it won't let me add a description of what's in the album??

anybody else having that problem with their albums??

The Aurach – here close to its source, after falling over the first steep walls and finding peace.

The Aurach is the stream of my childhood, just a few steps away from my parents' house.

I sat on its banks for hours, unconsciously doing what we now call meditation.

I turned over its stones and explored its creatures, I waded through it, walked on its ice and even broke through it at times.

Later, I rediscovered it through photography, always uphill to its source, never downhill.

Thoughts that are considered threatening or disturbing are repressed in the unconscious so that they do not become conscious, but this defense mechanism does not make them disappear completely but only silenced for some time because they will return to manifest themselves when you least expect it, in many other ways, in sleep with dreams, with slips of the tongue or calami (word and writing)…..

(my opinion)

"In all chaos there is a cosmos, in all disorder a secret order."

“The soul, fortunately, has an interpreter - often an unconscious but still a faithful interpreter - in the eye.” – taken from “Jane Ayre” by Charlotte Brontë

The theme for the 18th of May for “Smile on Saturday” is “eye catcher” and the theme requires a picture of black and white with the eyes (or eye) in selective colour.

In the last three years, I have been exploring a new avenue in my photographic creativity, that of portraiture photography. I used a somewhat illusive sitter for several “Smile on Saturday” themes over that period as part of this exploration. Now, nearly twelve months ago, I was lent a vibrant blue fascinator (formal headwear worn as an alternative to the hat) acquired from a charity shop to photograph for my portraiture photography. As I had the fascinator for over a month, I decided that I would have some fun with it whilst it was in my possession and push my own creative photographic boundaries by capturing it in different lights. Thus, I captured it at different times of the day. In this case, I had my elusive model (who has rather beautiful hazel and green eyes) stand in some afternoon sun holding the fascinator close to his face so that it cast a shadow on his cheek. I’m actually quite proud of this shot, even if I do say so myself, but I was never going to use it. Little did I know that I was going to capture an image that would suit this week’s "Smile on Saturday" theme perfectly after a little bit of post production magic to make it selective colour! I do hope that you like my choice for the theme this week, and that it makes you smile!

Unconsciously I find I have created a winter corner in the garden with these 3 winter flowering plants.

Thank you all so much for sharing your quality photos which is a great way to see and keep in touch with the world from home. Also for your kind comments and favours which are much valued.

I am not able to take on any more members to follow or to post to groups. I prefer not to receive invites to groups.

I stood here for a while taking several shots of this scene. I was waiting for the right group of people to be walking away from the camera, the "right" depth into the scene. After looking at the many photos I took, I noticed was that most people walked down the sides of the path, even if they were alone.

North Beach at seaside town of Tenby, on the western side of Carmarthen Bay, in Pembrokeshire, South Wales.

It is particularly picturesque as it curves round to the harbour with Goscar Rock, which children love to climb, standing sentinel in the centre. The famous Tenby-born artist Augustus John once dived off the rock and knocked himself unconscious, an incident which some people quoted as an excuse for his wild Bohemian behaviour.

Tenby has a long history. It may have started its career as a Norse settlement but by the 9th-century it was a Welsh stronghold, who attractions were celebrated in a noble Welsh poem in praise of Dinbych-y-pysgod (Tenby of the Fishes).

The Normans seized Tenby and henceforth it become part of "Little England beyond Wales". The castle was built on the headland that juts out between the North Sand and the South Sands. The ruins still crown Castle Hill overlooking Tenby harbour with panoramic views across Carmarthen bay to Worms Head and the Gower Peninsula. Amongst the fragments walls is the Welsh national memorial to Prince Albert, Consort to Queen Victoria, inaugurated by Prince Arthur in 1865.

Tenby become a walled town in the 13-century and the walls were strengthened in 1457 and again during the Armada scare in 1588. The line of walls is best seen from the South Parade where the main gate with its remarkable five-arched entrance, is well preserved. During the Civil War the town was captured by the Parliamentarians in 1644 and retaken in 1648 after defecting during the Second Civil War. It was twice bombarded from the sea. During the 17th and 18th centuries Tenby was a fairly busy little part.

Wealthy Victorians later provided the finance to develop the town into one of Britain's most attractive holiday resorts. They came to Tenby for the good of their health, but it was the birth of the coming railway in 1866 which saw the growth of tourists.

Tenby's 15th century Tudor Merchant's House is the oldest furnished residence in the town. Standing on Quay Hill, between the harbour and Tudor square, its authentic furniture and fittings recreate the atmosphere of the period and illustrate the way a successful Tudor merchant and his family would have live. Three of the interior walls bear the remains of early Frescoes. Owned and managed by the National Trust, the house is open between March and October.

St Catherine's Fort lies on a small island just off Tenby's South Beach. It was built in the 1860s to protect the Pembrokeshire coast from possible invasion by France. There are gun embrasures down both the Northern and Southern sides. It was never called to action and was eventually sold and has been many things since including a zoo. Tide and weather conditions permitting, you can enter the Fort main hall/ground floor level. This is an impressive structure and is easily visible from the South Beach.
