Our granddaughter does not quite grasp the idea of composition. She was not at all concerned that she could not get all the letters in her name on one line.

Multi-color fonts & CSS & transition = Animated web typography

Every part of each letter can animate independently from the rest of the letter. The animation is made with jqueryui switch classes, which adds and removes class(es) to elements while animating all style changes. Combined with a random value for timing the animation delivers endless random country-color animations.

classes = Array('GER', 'NED', 'BRA', 'BEL', 'CHI','BIH', 'ITA', ‘MEX’...);

$j(".TripperTricolorPro.MIX").each( function () {

newclass = classes[Math.floor(Math.random()*classes.length)];

oldclass = $j(this).attr('class').split(' ')[3]

$j(this).switchClass(oldclass, newclass, Math.floor(Math.random()*3000)+1000)

});

Ideas lost then discovered in pencil shavings

This was the Soviet Union's exhibition hall, not exactly what El Lissitzky would have designed. But I still have my Potemkin button that they gave to all visitors.

Spokane was happy to have the Russians in the World's Fair and the Russians were delighted with Spokane. Visitors came from all over and the Russian pavilion was one of the most popular. This was during the height of the cold war. People are just interested, even curious, about other cultures in spite of their own government's policy. And everybody had to try borcsht in their Soviet restaurant on the left. I noticed that the Russians were eating Crab Louis and western porter house steaks at the Spokane Ridpath Hotel. But if you came visiting from a Montana cattle ranch, you would rather try borcsht. "Steak again?" Everything is relative.

Workshop promovido pela Universidade de Brasília, no dia 02/12/2011, com Catherine Dixon (@thinkingtype).

This is a typography project that I did for my Digital Media and Animation class in college. We could choose anyone, including celebrities. So I narrowed my choices down to either Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Angus Young from AC/DC, or Synyster Gates from Avenged Sevenfold. Obviously you can see which I chose. Before anyone says or comments anything...yes I did leave the face out on purpose. If you need my reason for leaving the face of the Mad Hatter out of the picture, it's because both I and my professor both agree that it isn't needed to be in the picture. Just the implication of the face is enough because the Mad Hatter is such an iconic character and so many know him, that the face can be imagined into the drawing. Am I not right?

Please leave your comments on the drawing and please let me know what your thoughts and ideas for it are or would be. Please don't leave anything mean or non-constructive about the drawing. I am only looking for positive feedback and/or decent critique.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my artwork, and I really do appreciate the feedback and criticism!
