acrylic on canvas, 2012.

I started this painting two years ago while studying at Baylor. After moving, I went through my art and canvases and such and found these two... and decided they should be finished. So here they are, in all their expressive colored glory. I hope to make this into a series of the female form... we'll see what happens.

No, we're not in Belgium. The two Glasgow Nightingale riders' jerseys show up really well in the bunch.

The Victoria Gardens is a Victorian era garden of approximately two hectares on High Street, in the inner Melbourne suburb of Prahran. It still retains some elements of its original Victorian character which include; an oval lawn surrounded by a circular row of London plane trees, two sets of bronze decorative bronze urns, a Neoclassical fountain and a statue of the Winged Victory, also cast in bronze.

The Winged Victory, with a magnificent pair of wings is dressed in a grecian shift which billows about her, and holds a laurel wreath in her left hand. It was donated to the citizens of Prahran by the Mayor of Prahran C. W. Taylor in 1884.

LOL, a very, very distant, cropped image, but it's not every day that you see a Rough-legged Hawk being harrassed by two Ravens. This behaviour went on for quite a long time - maybe they were "playing"? Seen a couple of weeks ago near the end of a walk at Bebo Grove, Fish Creek Park.
