The building dates to 1474 and was the Governor's House during the Civil War, when Newark was subjected to two sieges (1643 and 1646). Prince Rupert stayed here in 1645. Newark On Trent, Nottinghamshire, UK.

Land is still tilled, and worked around these historic structures. Many are just piles of stone, but when an intact structures is found there truely a testament of the story of this mystical part of Italia.

My try for Macro Mondays theme "Two".
Shot with RE, Auto-Topcor 58mm f1.4 on Topcon bellows type IV.
A two second exposure at Aberdeen beach, i find this length of exposure gives me the ideal effect at times with the ebb and flow of the tide.
Comps as in composites (family of plant- Asteraceae, formerly Compositae), not compositions. Now that our summer has turned hot and smoky with many plants withering, it is time to look back at flowers from mid-summer. On the left is Blanketflower (Gaillardia aristata), which occurs throughout western North America. Note the several insect visitors among its petals. On the right is a Fleabane Daisy (Erigeron spp, one of the 44 species that occur in Colorado).
Went up into the mountains today ....Ok when i sent off it WASN'T raining ....when i got to this usually small mountain stream the heavens opened and the wind really started ....This is in for the day i thought to myself as is seat in my waterproofs huddled beside that rock ...Time for a quick exit .....

I love tropical gardens; I thought these hibiscus flowers next to each other in full bloom were delicate and beautiful. (Zoom in to see the delicate veins on the petals.)
