Dorsal view: The carapace of a juvenile speciemen of a European pond turtle.

Made using a pattern from the '90s, this was one of the most time consuming costumes I've ever made!

My family needed a little extra strength and courage dealing with a long overdue court case so I bought this little set of 'crime fighters' at The Lego Store as tokens of power - Turtle Power!

Company: Farley Foods Company (original)

Year: 1990

The late 1980's and into the 1990's saw a boom for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) franchise, which were introduced in the comic books in 1984.

It just wasn't merchandise that saw the boom, but food as well. Fans saw cereal, juices, ice cream, pasta, and fruit snacks on the market as well.

The fruit snacks were introduced by Farley Foods Company (Farley's) in 1990 and consisted of all the TMNT characters. Several years later the company introduced two more boxes with different characters. The company continued to sell these fruit snacks (with different versions) until 1998.

@ The Purple Turtle. April 2011

This is a teaser for "Raph's Struggles" which will be part 2 of a 5 part video series featuring the 1/4 NECA Turtles.

What are you looking at? You must want a turtle power dodge ball down the throat. And don't think that he wont do it. He is a man, a man without a conscience.

If I got six (can you find them all?) all at once, I'll bet this pond is just full of them!

Ah--I think I know what they are. Yellow stripes on the head that change to red on the neck and the guy showing red on the back legs close to the body suggest painted turtle, Chrysemys picta. This picture was taken only metres from where I found this little guy back in April.

The origin of Raphael's anger is not always fully explored, but in some incarnations appears to stem partly from the realization that they are the only creatures of their kind. He is generally the most likely to experience extremes of emotion.

This is a 5" x 7" ink drawing on Bristol board I did while at a Free Comic Book Day at Defiant Comics in Forest Park, Illinois. This one of a few drawings that left with customers that day, so I took these quick shots.

By the way, I totally spaced on what ninja turtle wore and used what. My apologies to outraged turtle enthusiasts.
