I didn't get all crazy with this photo shoot or bust out any of the accessories. I just wanted to snap a couple shots outside and see how he looked in natural light.......fuckin awesome. I also replaced the cheap brown fabric that was on the back of his shell to hold his bo staff, with some faux leather I had. Looks a little more authentic. Man, today was a ridiculous mail day. After months of separation, the four brothers are finally together! I'm still in awe of the sculpts on these behemoths. This was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles inspired piece, as a kid it was my favorite TV series and I was obsessed with drawing them, collecting the action figures, watching the movies and loved everything Turtles based. So I felt I'd create a piece dedicated to my Heroes and Raphael especially.
I kept all the general features of the Turtles but did it in the Sicknote. style (note: mine has ears the impostor)
It was posted on a canal barge with a tanker on it, in the Red Light District of Amsterdam.
The City was amazing and every street sign was covered in stickers etc, definitely a visually inspiring city.
Every time I seem to visit a European capital city I always return home feeling like I want to live there and Amsterdam is no exception.
