Finally having all the four LEGO TURTLES together, took me some time and nerves. The are not yet available in Germany and i had to bricklink a lot. When Donatello arrived the seller had put the wrong legs on him. Instead of bright green, he had the normal green legs from one of the other characters. Not too bad ´cause he is driving the van anyway ;) I was not sure if i would have enough new olive green parts after purchasing 79104 The Shellraiser Street Chase from a czech bricklink store and 70006 Cragger’s Command Ship, but as you can see it turned out fine. The interior is accessible through the detachable roof. All characters fit in there togehter with a good box supply of pizza. The opening door mechanism works just perfect after some trial and error testings. The stickers were hard to get since there is no good decal scan to find anywhere. But Photoshop is always a good help with that. All in all this is a model that was waiting on my wishlist for a long time and i´m really happy with the outcome and even more happy with the olive green. The normal green would have looked ugly. Nice that TLG sometimes gets a good amount of new elements into a new color lineup. COWABUNGA!

For the Flickr Friday group. This weeks theme; "We Love Pizza"
Love we pizza? We ADORE pizza.
When I saw the theme for this weeks challenge was "We Love Pizza", I instantly thought of "The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". Problem was I didn't own any TMNT figures. Looking online there were options of ordering some but either they would arrive past the deadline, or prohibitively expensive. There were some figures available from "Rise of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", but they are just plain awful looking.
A quick trip to local collectable shop and I scored two turtles, different styles and no accessories, but under $8 for both. I then found myself in Fresno this weekend and after a quick stop in a comic-book store (they didn't carry used figures) I was pointed in the direction of "Wonderland Comics" on N. Van Ness Avenue, Fresno. I wasn't hopeful, but it was only 10 minutes away.
Much to my surprise, all four turtles, with accessories for $5 each! Bargain. You might see them again.
Created for Huck Magazine.
The article was about Wild Coast getting well known Mexican popular culture icons to help with their cause, especially El Hijo Del Santo.
A lot of fun to work on, I was requested to create a painted illustration, working in acrylics is my favourite medium.
This kind of reminds me of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Maybe because it resembles a manhole cover protecting an intricate underground lair. Turtle power!

I created this vignette to celebrate 29 radical years of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Hidden in the scenes are 29 turtle allies and enemies, as featured in the comics, movies, cartoons, and toys. Can you find them all?
(Here's a hint - the Turtle Blimp counts as one of the 29.)
