On a different trail, we saw this turtle along the road. I found four turtles over the course of two days. It was rather odd.

I think this one is also a red-bellied turtle, but they can be confused with the eastern painted turtle and I'm not 100% certain.

The turtles lounge on this same log every day on the Cypress Swamp Trail.

He was startled when he saw me and started to take off. Then he turned around and went back for food.

This little guy came visiting one day. He scared my dogs. They didn't know what to do with him...He was tryihg to get through the fence but he was too big to get in.

A turtle laying her eggs in a city park in Madison. In the background we heard Phil Vassar playing at a local bar.

I don't have much to say about this one, I took a lot of pictures of turtles and koi fish. A LOT. The one looking at us is totally Raphael.

Spotted two turtles in the Charles in Watertown. They were about 6 inches long and happily swimming about eating the vegetation. Despite the crud on the surface, I guess their presence suggests the water quality isn't too bad.

I saved this Florida Box Turtle from being run over by cars; it was in the street, closed up, waiting for the danger to pass - at 5PM Friday on our subdivision's main road.

The common box turtles are very prevalent in our area. This guy hangs around our house n our flower beds.
