Firstly, a brief note about the song from the internet -
" In a VH1 True Spin special, the The Vapors were asked about this song, and they explained that it is a love song about someone who lost their girlfriend and was going slowly crazy. Lead singer Dave Fenton said: "Turning Japanese is all the clichés about angst and youth and turning into something you didn't expect to." It was inspired by Fenton's relationship problems.
That recognizable opening riff repeated a few places in the song is actually called "the oriental riff". It is often used when a Western song wants to invoke the Far East; other popular examples are Carl Douglas' "Kung Fu Fighting" and Siouxsie and the Banshees' "Hong Kong Garden."

This composition utilizes photos I took of "Le Grand Rassemblement," a sculptural installation created by Marcel Gagnon for Le Centre d’Art Marcel Gagnon de Sainte-Flavie, Quebec. The original sculptures, mounted on the rocky shore of the St. Lawrence River, are constructed from wood, cement, rope and other textiles. This image uses superimposition and textures to blend some of the photos together.

After chasing the eastbound C&TS train until it entered isolation at Los Pinos. A long drive on a dirt road got me to Osier, Colorado, where the eastbound and westbound trains routinely meet. Soon after the westbound train departed for Chama, a photo freight chartered by the Friends of the C&TS arrived from Antonito with K27 mudhen in D&RGW paint. While the patrons detrained for lunch at the depot, the freight backed around the balloon track, and is seen here backing to the Osier depot in preparation for its return to Antonito.
As long as the world is turning and spinning, we're gonna be dizzy and we're gonna make mistakes.

I've been shooting a little closer to home lately, but there's a 3-day weekend looming...I'm watching the weather to decide where to go. Anyone heading out?
Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion; it is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality. But, of course, only those who have personality and emotion know what it means to want to escape from these. Emily Dickinson
Just had a couple of days in London hitting some of the galleries. Naturally I also took loads of pictures whilst wandering about from venue to venue, and this is the first off the roll.
Shot with my all new, all singing, all dancing, smart phone. Very smart as it turns out because it's producing some very credible and impressive images.
No, I know, it won't replace my cameras - well not completely - but it was a bit of an eye opener just how much has improved since my last smart phone purchase (and this one is sooo last year - in terms of tech) and I haven't even switched over to Pro mode yet. Many happy pictures to come I think.
Thank you for visiting my stream.

Here's a chameleon tail for your Monday! This fellow had his eyes closed for most of the time I was looking at him, so I was looking for other interesting part of the body.
Today's my first in-service day as I look toward beginning a new school year. The school year's regular schedule usually helps me get Monday through Friday posting regularity of photos. Here's to a great new year! :)
The rain descended through poignant landscapes with figures rushing through them trying to beat time.
Our son just got a new coaching job in Columbus Ohio. Yesterday we followed him out to help him get settled in. There was just the beginning of Fall colors in central MD but by the far western county it was peak. It was fun to watch the progression. HTMT!
