The tram runs around the turning triangle at the Ferrymead Station end of the line. Behind the tram stop you can see the two trailer cars - a white-and-green open car, and a New Brighton Tramway brown and cream trailer. Both trailers are double-deckers.
This town is full of monsters
Holding hands with other monsters
And attempting to be human beings
Shuffling around the shops
And waving at balloons
This town is full of monsters
Sitting on park benches
Eating little packets of sultanas
Licking chocolate off their chubby little fingers
And I don't know why
It is they scare me
But they do
And the thing that really frightens me
Is that all my friends from school
Are turning into monsters
Picking patterns out for curtains
Making friends with all the other monsters
Pushing little baby monsters
Around the shops in prams
This town is full of monsters
Peeping out from under parked cars
In multi-storey car park
Evil little eyes like fairy lights
Blinking in the dark
This town is full of monsters
Making out with other monsters
Picking sweet corn out of their teeth
Dipping pissy little fingers
In the pick 'n' mix
And I don't even know why
It is it scares me
But it does
And the thing that really frightens me
Is that the people I used to love
Are turning into monsters
Getting married having babies
Telling me how great their life is
And how happy I would be if I could
Just be more like them
The Boy Least Likely To, Monsters
On the final day of bookable masterclasses we celebrated some old and more modern techniques in wood shaping. We saw the return of Barn the Spoon for some wooden spatula carving sessions.
Alongside this a Turning masterclass was taking place, Jim Steele was working his pole lathe whilst Stuart King was on the power lathe. Each participant had a go on each lathe to feel and test the difference between the modern and ancient turning methods.
Finally to round the day off, we had our very first 'Log to Leg' race. This is where a log is turned to a leg, there is a master leg to judge against. Jim Steele was on the pole lathe and Stuart King was on the power lathe, it was a close run competition and after the judges decision it was a draw (it took all of 6.22seconds).
There is so much to love when sewing by hand. I added my first touch of green. Just a touch so far. I have a leaf theme going on already.
💜I am using a 1/2 to 3/4 seam allowance since many of these fabrics are raw edge and there needs to be no exact measurement.
