Opened in 1906 by the Great Northern, Piccadilly and Brompton Railway (GNP&BR), Holborn Tube station is a key interchange in London, designed by architect Leslie Green. It serves the Piccadilly and Central lines, famously replacing the nearby British Museum station in 1933, and contains hidden, disused platform areas.
Over the years, the station has been updated to handle high passenger volume, including the removal of original lifts in favour of escalators.
