Likely the most filthy road locomotive I ever photographed is Rio Grande EMD SD40T-2 No. 5392 leading a coal empty past milepost 178 at the old station of Park between Edna and Sidney, Colorado on the Craig Branch on September 9, 1992. If it’s not the filthiest, it’s up there anyway. I’ve seen Montana Rail Link and Rio Grande helper sets this dirty—I can only assume that No. 5390, along with the two trailing Rio Grande units, are blackened from being in helper service through all those tunnels. Maybe the wash rack at Burnham is broken. Or maybe it’s just Southern Pacific influence on Rio Grande power. Either way, the train didn’t shine in the morning sun.

After 'shooting' for around 15 minutes, the Swallows were showing no sign of flying away from their perch...
Would I have time to change Lenses? You bet I would...!!! And then came the proverbial icing on the cake: this little bird actually stood still for a few minutes, showing off it's true beauty...!!!

I made this for SlidersSunday. The location is not correct, this was taken at Turkey spur the new River Gorge national Park in Grandview, West Virginia.
My first attempt at Infrared photography and Channel swapping. need to delve deeper into Goldies and Monochromes next.
The final three “real” paint schemes of the Lake Superior & Ishpeming are demonstrated by this U25C/U23C/U23C lineup at Eagle Mills, Michigan. These units were replaced by secondhand BN GE’s, which remain in service without ever being repainted.

The true finches are small to medium-sized passerine birds in the family Fringillidae. Finches have stout conical bills adapted for eating seeds and often have colourful plumage.
