I've never seen forever (oh yeah)

I've never seen forever in the wild

But now I'm looking now, I'm looking in its eyes

Baby, you're my shelter

Shelter from a broken paradise

I couldn't dream it any better if I tried...

I see your true colors

The true finches are small to medium-sized passerine birds in the family Fringillidae. Finches have stout conical bills adapted for eating seeds and often have colourful plumage. They occupy a great range of habitats where they are usually resident and do not migrate. They have a worldwide distribution except for Australia and the polar regions. The family includes species known as siskins, canaries, redpolls, serins, grosbeaks and euphonias. Many birds in other families are also commonly called "finches". These groups include: the estrildid finches (Estrildidae) of the Old World tropics and Australia; some members of the Old World bunting family (Emberizidae) and the American sparrow family (Passerellidae); and the Darwin's finches of the Galapagos islands, now considered members of the tanager family (Thraupidae). Finches and canaries were used in the UK, Canada and USA in the coal mining industry, to detect carbon monoxide from the eighteenth to twentieth century. This practice ceased in the UK in 1986. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finch

I started to make prints of the images from my Verses (from the Garden of Evergreen and Memory) portfolio. It's going to be a long process, but I like the challenge.

Prompt: Christmas style. A baby with big eyes in a red sweater and white hat, kissing a White Westie puppy, ears up, on the snowy floor, in a New Year atmosphere. Best picture quality, 8k, high resolution, masterpiece, full-body photography, --stylize 750 --v 6.1

From ancient times to the present, philosophers have repeatedly emphasized the importance of living a frugal or minimalist life. The ancient Greek philosopher Diogenes said, “True wealth is not in increasing possessions, but in reducing one’s needs.” Mahatma Gandhi pointed to the destructive side of human greed, stating, “The Earth has enough for everyone’s needs, but not enough for everyone’s greed.” From the Buddha to Karl Marx, across the passage of time, many have expressed similar ideas. This minimalist concept in philosophy has greatly influenced the photographer, and its mark is clearly visible in his vision and framing.

The absence of color or the use of minimal composition in framing reflects the photographer’s inclination toward a minimalist approach. The fog, wrapped like a thick winter blanket, creates a serene atmosphere. In this calm and pure dramatic setting, human presence becomes secondary. Before nature, even humanity’s vast achievements become insignificant. That is why the photographer has kept humans and their architectural achievements in the background, framing the scene in a minimalist style. Here, nature is the primary subject—not humans or their constructions.

According to nihilism, or the philosophy of pessimism, human life does not has inherent purpose. Evolutionary theory has shown that humans are an unintended outcome of nature’s evolutionary process. Yet human beings, regarded as the finest of creations, continue to exploit all their knowledge and effort into seeking meaning in life. They establish ever-greater architectural structures upon the heart of nature. In proving their superiority, they seem to challenge nature itself. Viewing nature as an adversary, humanity gradually distances itself further and further from it.

One of my still lives at candle's light to celebrate the cherries harvest.

Cherries are the fruit I prefer and also the true protagonists, the most precious fruits of my area.

I like to display cherries in a rustic way, on wooden trays or bowls but in this new Still Life shooting, I have been willing to lend what cherries represent in my area, pure jewels, more than the best chocolate pralines... An unforgettable gourmet delicacy for both taste and eyes. An experience that only lasts 2/3 weeks in the year, the time they are mature and picked up. Something unmissable...

Especially for this shooting:

Wrapping and display is important if the content is.

So, this time, I have been using as display tools only silversmith handmade author's jewellery.

Here to the right, a mini sterling silver bowl for the whipped cream, to the left a mini sterling silver fondue holder to melt chocolate and then deep inside a cherry. I made it for real, so in this photo chocolate is melting, well, maybe boiling and the candle blown up very quickly. I could not replace it as it's not a regular tealight, it's a customized mini tealight made especially to adapt to this miniature sculpture.

I built some candle's stands using some old camera tripods and fixing the candle holders on top of them. Apart this, well, I have an appointed personally conceived "technique" to display further candles in the angles where I need this particular natural light.

The ice cubes or the dry ice gas would eventually complete the special sweet fondue.

The cherries had just been picked up from the tree, I hurried up to shoot them in all their splendor of freshness.

This vision and this flavour are never possible when buying cherries from the groceries.

Zero km food is in most cases the very best food.

Despite having a large trove of lovely things to photograph, I often find myself delving into my box of vintage buttons. I hope it's not because they're easy - I don't have to think too much - although that's quite possibly true. OK, let's say it's because flowers are in short supply at this time of year, which means I have to find them where I can. That sounds better and it's also true. :)

This button, from the late 1800s, is hand-painted porcelain and 1" wide.

There are around 10,000 breeding pairs of puffins on Skomer and Skokholm Islands off the Pembrokeshire coast, making them one of the most important Puffin colonies in Britain.

Puffins pair for life, and will tend to return each season to the same burrow they've excavated in the soil to raise their single chick. Sometimes they will re-purpose burrows vacated by Manx Sheerwaters or rabbits.
