The True Faith exhibtion at Manchester Art Gallery, celebrating the legacy of Joy Division and New Order
Previously, my only documentation of this former ChiChi's location was a trio of awful night shots.
This has been Jose Peppers for, I want to say, 12 years at least. They are closed, ostensibly for remodeling. In this economy, places have been known to say that, perhaps hoping it was true, but ended up never reopening.
But there is evidence of work being done, so I hope they will come back strong.
The ChiChi's location I visited has had its tapered towers disguised in straight, vertical brick towers, in its new incarnation as J. Gilbert's Wood-fired Steaks, but this location retains the tapered look.
1991 - the full story of the 1923 murder of an Egyptian playboy by his long-suffering French wife. It was a different world back then - the racism used in the trial is enhanced by the mock horror at the "bizarre sexual practices" of the North Africans. It's quite a case.
Some classic style LEGO Noir. Just a little treat for people until I get the next AC: Noir out there. I'm probably gonna use black and white again in flashbacks (HINTHINT) because I like the way it came out.

I liked the look on the girl's face in this image. Had been watching them for a while, just a nice young couple, walking along, holding hands.

On this, the 13th day of our successful 16-day trek to the K2 North Base Camp and the North Gasherbrum Glacier in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, China, we trekked down the true right bank of the Shaksgam River from our campsite at Kulquin Bulak (elevation 4,037 m, 13,245 ft.) to the southern foot of the Aghil Pass, then climbed to the pass (elevation 4,808 m, 15,774 ft.) where we camped for the night. We covered some 15.6 km (9.7 mi.) in 8 hours, crossing several deep channels of the Shaksgam on our camels during the first forty minutes of our journey. Here a deep, fast-flowing channel is crossed. During the first twelve days of our trek we had crossed river channels on our camels twenty-two times. Far from the gentle camel rides enjoyed in tourist spots, these crossings were challenging. Perched precariously high atop the loads our camels carried, we often hung on for dear life as they lurched into, accross and out of the waters. On our second day, one of our fourteen loaded camels stumbled and fell into the Surukwat River during our second crossing of the day, fortunatly with no ill consequences. On this day I finally felt confident enough to attempt taking some pictures while riding my camel during the crossings.
