OK, when I saw this I was like 'what was I thinking? Why did I take only black and white pictures of him but this?' After seeing it, I actually feel this is the strongest portrait from this session with Mark, not only because it is the only colour one, but also for his pose and the beautiful blurred background with a perspective.

True neutral is when someone prefers to stay out of the way when good and evil forces clash! Though destiny calls them to assist either side, they aren't ready to choose for they have other worries and issues to handle. Though uncertain, when the forces are regathering strength; that is when they must make their decision or just say "Good? Bad? I'm the guy with the gun!" Some neutrals are gentilian as in having something they believe that comforts them though they do often question things. Hindus, Taoists, Shintoists, Shamanists and Wiccas believe they are rewarded for niether good nor evil acts but rewarded by how they care for the world!
Be true to yourself....
Be true to your heart.....
Be true to your nature.....
Be true to your friends/family.
Don't ever be afraid of what you are,
what you believe in and what your
destiny is.
Just be true.....you'll never get
anywhere in life pretending to
be something you're not.

Out for a late afternoon-early evening rid and walk with my loyal pup..we came upon many things..Our peaceful waterfall..a delicious sunset and some evening lights that were extraordinary...This is the result of that...My true religion on a Sunday..time spent outdoors with my dog..doesn't get much more spiritual than that...

Confession: I fear the future. I’m absolutely petrified. I suppose it’s because I’m not sure who I want to be, what I want to be and where I want to be. And it’s high time the crucial decision was made. Weird as it may sound, the more satisfied I become with my life and with who I am, my future becomes more and more blurred. Sometimes I think I don’t put my heart into things I do and I feel completely idle. The more I change for the better, the harder my life gets. Being true to yourself is so challenging.

Do you consider yourself a true survivor?
This is a photo of my dad, Merced S. Bonilla, who will be 81 this September, 2009.
My dad is a burn victim. He survived being burned over 80% of his body, almost half of that 3rd degree.
He is a survivor of cancer.
He has endured the death of his twin Allen, my older brother Jack, and my mother, Beatrice. They were married for over 53 years, and knew each other since their early teens. My mother died 5 years ago, after a knee surgery operation. She died 5 hours after the surgeon told the family that the operation went ok, and that my mom would be fine. She died of a heart attack, caused by a blood clot.
He helped raise my younger brother Al, who has had polio since around age 5.
If that wasn't enough, he helped raise grandsons Jack, and Danny as if they were sons also.
I am a cancer suvivor also, but am no one compared to my dad!

I like color and my life is pretty crazy most of the time, just like this block. I love the smiling shrimp and chopped up boots both of which remind me of my childhood--the shrimp because they're from the sea and boots because we played a lot in the rain.

Taken at the start of the A-Z of Manchester Tour organised by the Manchester Modernist Society. Our group had assembled near the Mark Addy and we were looking at Aldine House (in the background) and this man walked by. Nothing too spectacular about that you might think, but this groovy fellow had his own portable music player in his shopping trolley and it was somewhat bizarre, but lovely, to see (and hear) this marvellous example of British eccentricity. It made me smile - music is so precious and I think it's lovely that he takes it with him on his travels. May you have music whereever you go sir.

Higashi Hongan-ji is a Jōdo Shinshū (True Pure Land) Buddhist temple in Kyoto. Although it was founded in 1321, the temple’s current location was decided by warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi as part of the peace deal following the long years of war that his predecessor, Oda Nobunaga, waged against the warrior monks from this temple. The deal was further solidified by Tokugawa Ieyasu, the unifier of Japan, as an irreconcilable split emerged between the sons of the Kennyo, heirs to the former leader of the Ishiyama Hongan-ji. Besides being a famous temple, Higashi Hongan-ji is also the mausoleum for Shinran, the founder of the Jōdo Shinshū sect
The temple is truly massive, covering an area of 99,000 square meters, but not all of it dates back to the late 16th/early 17th century. For instance, the impressive looking Founder's Hall Gate (Goei-do Mon) was built in 1911. There was also a fire that damaged the Founder’s Hall and it was reconstructed in 1895. There is also a lot of preservation and restoration work going on in the Founder’s Hall and many other parts of the temple, which is interesting in itself, just to see how they build up a structure around the old buildings and work from within. The construction work is set to be completed in 2011.
Inside his small workshop in Pontoglio, northern Italy, a true master is at work refining the art he loves most and perfecting the craft for which he has become world-famous. Luigi Viprati first began making pipes in 1972 when, during a break from military service, he obtained a piece of briar and carved his first pipe just for fun. By 1984 Luigi dedicated himself to producing high-quality artisan pipes which he branded La Pipa di Viprati; pipes that became “a unique and special object, a great companion of our life.” Now semi-retired, Luigi produces only a fraction of the 1500 handmade pipes he once made per year, concentrating on designs and shapes that appeal to his artistic senses.
This gargantuan piece is from Luigi’s high-end Collection series. The egg-shaped bowl measures a massive 3.5 inches tall with walls nearly a half-inch thick, making for an exceptionally cool smoking experience. Despite its size, the weight is well-distributed and balanced making for a surprisingly comfortable clencher. Being a Collection grade, the grain is uniformly straight around the entire circumference of the bowl and shank. Finding a piece of briar of this size with such tight and symmetrical grain is no easy task, making pipes of this caliber rare indeed. Luigi uses only Italian briar which he feels is the best and sources it from Sicily, Calabria and Tuscany where he personally accompanies briar harvesters in order to obtain the very finest. Briar for Collection-grade pipes is air-cured a minimum of 7 to 10 years or longer, making for a very clean, sweet smoking pipe.
From the quality of briar he uses and its faultless execution, Viprati pipes are consistently excellent smokers and remain some of the world’s finest.
